It'll finish when it's finished, but I've resumed writing Volume 3.

Update 2/9/2024

I've set aside an hour each workday before work to work on Candlelit Lives. While I prefer to write in longer 3-5 hour stretches, realistically, I can't find that kind of time. So while the one hour blocks are less efficient, it does mean I get to chip away. By and large, that's been going well, subject to being sick a day or two, and having other obligations popping up, but I'm pleased with my progress. I've written two chapters, and have significantly built out my outline for each chapter of the volume.

Update 3/1/2024

It's coming along well. I figure I have about five chapters left to write, including the epilogue. Unfortunately, this includes the last big fight and its choreography, which I haven't outlined at all, so this may be a bit difficult. Then, one that's done, will need to do a few passes. It's a bit rough.

Unrelatedly, I've removed the spoiler material for volume 3, which I had shared earlier on the chance that I never returned to this. But I'm here, so it's coming down.

Update 3/11/2024

Progress is coming along well. I have a first draft of every chapter so far, except for the big battle (of course there's one) and the epilogue. Had some bad luck with illness and work getting in the way, but hopefully will finish those first cuts this week.

Update 7/31/2024

Some of you may be following my responses in the comments below, but for those who have not, it's been a tremendously difficult few months for writing, mostly related to familial and work obligations. It has allowed some of the thoughts about the remainder to stew, but there's been a lack of actual writing. I'm still in the thick of taking care of my obligations, so I'm not particular optimistic about an August release, but we'll see.
