Some of you may be wondering why their level is so low. I didn’t think this fit well within the chapter, and I’m not sure if it’ll come up later or not, so here’s a little exposition. Given that the two found themselves within a highly regulated social structure (i.e., the army), the two intentionally did not allocate their XP to their Race and Class. As such, while they gained quite a bit XP (enough to Tier up both Race and Class), they kept most of it in reserve. And, indeed, after making their final decision, that loose XP was used to fuel the magical attack on the capital city.

New Skills – Maxime ◐
[Sea Native *F 22] (N/A): A Fused Skill. You are inherently salt water tolerant. Additionally, you can hold your breath for an extreme amount of time, {Rank}*6 minutes. You can also inherently alter your buoyancy from negative (Rank)% to positive (Rank)% when in liquids.
[Natural Meditation *F V] (N/A): You find wild areas soothing to both your body and mind. By default, HP Regen and MP Regen are increased by 250% in wild areas. Increase by another 250% by meditating.
[Consecration of Nature's Sovereign *F] (N/A): A hyper-Fused Skill. All plants and animals will bend to your will and recognize you are their sovereign, king and lord. Plants will grow when commanded, fruit when desired, and yield their bounty when needed. You may call court of the forest nobility. They will come when summoned, speak when spoken to, and your will be done. All other nonsapient animals will recognize and accede to your will. You may outright heal your subjects, and you have a predilection to imbuing your magic within them.
[Natural Mage *F] (N/A): You have touched upon the innate use of magic in nature. Magic efficacy improved by 300%.
[Battle Aura 18] (VR): When in battle, use your mana to fuel a powerful aura about your body. This aura naturally deflects many attacks, and will prey upon the weak-minded.
[Grenade Spell 8] (Ra): A simple spell that produces a small ball that may be thrown. May explode on contact or after a set time.
[Cluster Grenade Spell 14] (VR): An upgraded version of the [Grenade Spell], the balls produced by this will in turn spawn their own [Grenade Spells], which then explode.
[Devastating Explosion 20] (UR): The next logical leap in explosive warfare. A missile type attack that causes wide AOE damage.
[Bafflement *F 12] (N/A): You will not be found unless you desire to be. Anyone trying to track you will find it very difficult to do so. Identifying you at a great distance is far more difficult. [Identify] requires a CHA to be passed; a failure presents falsified information.
[Clock Complications *M] (N/A): The current time, date, and positions of the sun, stars, and wandering stars are displayed in your Status. Also comes with a stopwatch function.
[Give This Mage a Shield *F] (N/A): Inexplicably, you are the epitome of [Mages], but you have an obsession with physical defense. You are 100% more difficult to knock back, your defense is improved by 100%, and any armor you wear is 100% more effective.
[Omnimovement *M] (N/A): Outside of actually flying, you've mastered movement in all different directions and environments. Movement speed over long distance increased by 100%; movement speed over short distance increased by 300%
[Divine Omnibus *C] (N/A): Consolidating the Divine Skills. You may spend MP to channel divine energy from the pantheon. Amount of divine energy channeled increases by (Rank*6)%. You may heal yourself or any person you are in physical contact with, now with a 50% bonus. Offensively, you may conjur a field of arrows or a large sphere of divine energies to hurl at your foes. Offensive melee, you may imbue divine power into a weapon or your bare hands. When you do so through a weapon, the weapon will closely accumulate a divine quality. Defensively, you may conjur either a layered shield above your allies to protect from magical attacks, several stationary shield of greater strength, and you may be able to reflect magical attacks, adding a damage bonus scaling with (Rank). Supportwise, you may buff yourself or your allies' Attributes (CON, STR, END, DEX, INT, WIS, SOU, CHA).
[Demagogue *F] (N/A): People like you, especially nobles and humaniforms. CHA increased by 10%. Further, have a positive impression on all creatures, sapient or otherwise.
[Polyglot II] (VR): Congratulations. You have reached Rank 20 in ten or more languages. You have a 200% bonus in learning new languages.
[North Oni Tongue 40] (UR): The language of the northern villages of the [Oni].
[Super Consolidated H&M Boost *C] (N/A): Consolidated Skill: This Skill combines various Skills that increase your HP, HP Regen, MP and MP Regen based on other Attributes. When calculating HP, add 50% DEX INT END to CON and 50% WIS CHA SOU to STR. When calculating HP Regen, STR INT WIS CHA END SOU are included in the base calculation. When calculating MP, add 50% CON STR SOU to INT and 50% DEX CHA END to WIS. When calculating MP Regen, CON STR DEX CHA END SOU are included in the base calculation.
[Gobberton Genocide] (U): You have killed over one million members of the [Gobberton] Race. [Gobbertons] will subconsciously recognize you as a threat.

[Chaos Blades *F 16] (NA): Coat your weapons in pure mana, instilled with a complex, and nigh-chaotic set of potential side effects: extra sharpness, heat exhaustion, frostbite, bleeding, unable to heal, deeper cuts, stinging pain, and paralysis.
[Taking a Whack Against a Tree] (VR): Melee attacks against you are 50% weaker and have a 33% chance of causing a debilitating stinging sensation in the attacker's arms or equivalent.
[A Craftswoman's Perfection *M 27] (N/A): Freely assemble or disassemble machines at will. In so doing, you do so better. Even logic will not stop you. And when you are done, you are especially good at finetuning it to perfection.
[Battlefield Nowhere *F 20] (N/A): A supreme master of movement upon the battlement. Where you will it, you will be. And where you wont it, your allies will not.
