"That bitch." Heather bit her tongue in frustration after hearing Kyle is spending his days and nights with Ashlee. It's just been a few days since he even met her. How could he totally forget Heather and go after his mate?
"What if he brings her home tomorrow and marries her?" Diana, one of Heather's arrogant friends added, just putting oil to the fire.
"I can't let that happen. He must marry me," Heather yelled at Diana as she threw the block on the ground, grabbing everyone's attention who was practicing along with them.
Heather grabbed Diana and got to the corner so no one could hear them. "Help me get her address, her background check, and everything possible." She smirked with an evil look. Why does she want to know this much about Ashlee?
"Hea...Heather. You do know it's punishable if we mess with Alpha's mate, right?" Diana stuttered, gulping down the fear of her Alpha.
"Of course, I know. But don't worry. Kyle loves me. He won't say anything to me and obviously, I won't let your name out. Just go get me this much. Please." Heather pouted, giving Diana her puppy eyes. Diana has never refused Heather's orders because she herself knows how much Kyle favors Heather.
"Fine, be at the watch; I will go in and bring you the information." Diana sighed, giving in. She knew there was no other way for her.
Both of them agreed to get all Kyle had about Ashlee. They knew Kyle wrote about Ashlee in his journal, and Heather knew where it was. Diana would just have to take pictures of the pages with the information.
Still, it would be risky if anyone got suspicious of them. After the training and showering, both had lunch as usual along with others. Everyone was too busy in their duties to even notice what they were up to.
Diana went inside Kyle's office and started searching for his journal without making a sound. Heather was on watch outside his office. Everything was going smoothly. Diana found his journal and took the pictures.
Then out of nowhere, a guard wolf of Kyle appeared in front of Heather. Her heartbeat rose to her throat, and she couldn't even gulp down. But she had the ability to be really quick, so she went for it.
"Heather? What are you doing here?" Salem, the guard wolf, asked, checking her nervousness from head to toe.
"Oh, Salem, I didn't notice you there. Nowadays I think me and Kyle are spending too little time together, so I'm just here to see him if he is doing okay." Heather's acting wasn't only terrible, but she was really dramatic too.
"Yeah, because he already has a mate and you should go and find yours," Salem hissed at her. Nobody in the whole pack likes Heather. She is an arrogant and stubborn kid from her childhood. She may have suffered a lot after her parents' death, but no one gives her the right to ridicule others.
Stolen from Royal Road, this story should be reported if encountered on Amazon.
"I always thought I would be his mate. It really broke my heart to hear he had an ordinary stupid girl as his mate," Heather hissed at her last words. It was clear she didn't like Ashlee, but at least she should have some respect for her as Alpha's mate.
"Anyways, Alpha isn't here. I think you should leave now. You will know when he comes back." Salem was so done with her being overdramatic.
"Actually, I was thinking... Maybe we could talk until then." Heather seductively approached him, trailing a stretched arm with her fingertips.
Salem stared tensely at what she was doing. He kept his silence firm and held his eyes still on her. He was so done with this girl being a flirt to everyone.
"So, do you want to talk with me? 'In private.'" She whispered the last words, smirking with her signature suggestive look and licked her lips slowly.
Did she think that was going to work on everyone?
"Sweetheart, you may be a flirt to our Alpha. He doesn't love you, and you know that. So once you are done, do you think anyone would like to go for a worn-out mess?" Salem repeated her last words, copying Heather.
Her blood boiled up in her veins, making her go crazy with fury in her head. If possible, she could have ripped his throat out with one swipe of her sharp claws.
"I will make you regret your words." She stomped away, forgetting about Diana, who was still in the room, waiting for Heather to make the guard go away. But instead, she heard her storming away after threatening the guard.
Diana stayed hidden until the guard left the hall. She then went out and went to find Heather. She was furious at how her friend could just leave her there in a situation of life and death.
"Did you really just leave me there?" Diana slammed the door behind her, storming inside Heather's room, tapping her feet on the floor.
"Diana, I didn't mean to leave you there. It was because of that stupid guard. He said I was being a flirt. You know how much I am hurt, right now?" Heather's overdramatic pouting face was on it again. Her skills were terrible but enough to convince people.
"Not everything is about you, Heather. You literally left me there in Alpha's room. What if someone had seen me? I would have been dead by now, and you know that." Diana swirled her head, irritated.
"I know, I know. I was just so hurt by those words, so my mind stopped working. You know how much I love Kyle. You are the only one who can understand me, right?" Heather, being melodramatic, keeps revolving Diana around her fingers.
Diana sighed, her eyes softened. She sure is arrogant but not cruel. She has been stuck with Heather ever since Heather joined their pack, even though she was the kid of the enemy.
"Okay. Yeah," Diana murmured, not clearly sure of it.
"So tell me, did you find something?" Heather's pitiful look was exchanged by the exciting evil thoughts on her mind. She is just using Diana. Diana could still be considered much better than Heather.
"Here." Diana gave her the phone with the pictures of Kyle's diary pages in it. It was full of every single detail about Ashlee—even how she was getting abused at her home by her uncle, about her mother and her school, her finances, and her emotional state.
"This girl doesn't even have enough money to eat but wants to be with my Kyle." Heather chuckled, cursing Ashlee. How could someone muster up enough hatred for someone they have never even met?
"So what are you going to do now?" Diana asked, curiously, raising her brows at Heather.
"Create history," Heather replied, grinning mischievously as she read the pages.
