Wrath Incarnate’s power brought his wrath and attributes to new heights once more as he followed the fleeing god-touched through the final passage of the place of his return. His power made catching the pathetic things as they ran, tripping over themselves in their pathetic and desperate flight.

*crack*
The Slayer hacked down another coward and stepped out of the final passage and for the first time in far too long his gaze fell upon the night sky. Clouds gathered overhead but his eyes easily pierced them and found the stars his lesser self had once watched. The Slayer felt no kind of relief or ease at seeing the once-familiar sight, those emotions were irrelevant. No, he felt nothing but a further need to complete his purpose.
The sky above was yet another lie. A lie told by the fatebinders. A lie that furthered the crime that had brought mankind to the brink. Perhaps the illusion above was what the sky had looked like once but now it simply obscured the true fate of their world. The one chosen by coward gods…
*crack!*
The Slayer grunted as his attention was drawn to his own chest and the channels that stretched beneath the stone at his feet. A foolish waste of mental energy. To think his lesser self felt it necessary to allow those broken things to live. The channel was at its limit, he had traveled far beyond its normal range and now it was beginning to break down. Without a second thought he severed the channel with a single gesture of his will.
Pain tore through The Slayer’s chest. Pain that he should not have been able to feel raged through his body searing his flesh and charring his bones. Blood sprayed from his mouth and nose as something wrapped around his core like a noose and began to tighten. A desolate scream ripped itself from his throat threatening to crack the indomitable barrier around his mind. The barrier that allowed him to be his true self.
The enemy fled like weakling despite the clear agonized reaction of The Slayer’s body. Forced to pause his pursuit The Slayer turned its gaze inwards toward its core and the foreign mana that now plagued him. The clear blue light of unattuned mana coursed through his body, not truly damaging it but still clearly incompatible with his superior form.
His core hung like a crimson star in a blue sea. Its flames leached through the core’s walls and the bore used in the recreation of Wrath Incarnate. The crimson flames burned away the flood of mana around it but it was a war of attrition. A war he had not realized he had been fighting with the channels bound to the weaklings below.
Warning: Significant quantities of foreign mana are present within your core space. This mana is not lethal but will suppress the generation and stability of any other mana affinities present within your core.

Another annoyance, another delay in the completion of his purpose. The Slayer threw his blade and it arced through the air to hack the feeling god-touched as before they could reach the gates of a large stone wall. Some survived but The Slayer did not pursue them. They had become a waste of time. Time he now needed to manage more carefully, he would wipe this place clean of broken souls before he was forced to relinquish control.
The Slayer turned back into the entrance of a large black pyramid, his gaze darting to the dozens of weak pathetic things that would now fuel his slaughter. Exterminator’s Regards arc back into his fist and burst into crimson flame as he stepped back into the passage to begin his slaughter anew. His left arm rose and a wave of crimson flame surged down the passage.
Expecting the cries of the weak to heighten, The Slayer’s eyes blazed as the flames parted in the wake of a flash of brilliant golden light. A blast of light slammed into The Slayer’s chest throwing him backward into the courtyard and amongst bisected dead he had recently killed and more he had not.
From the passage, a blue light laced with gold approached. A feeble-looking man he had seen before but discarded from his mind like the rest. The feeble shell of the broken one before him beguiled the power he held. Power fought for, power earned. The Slayer’s wrath continued to fall but its influence was still strong and with that influence came understanding.
“Healer… Strong but broken,” The Slayer’s voice reverberated through the courtyard as the man stepped forward.
[Volan Krass | Healer of the Golden Shores 121 | Human]
Normally expressions other than fear were irrelevant to The Slayer but the healer’s face held a hint of something else, “You must stop Kalum-” The healer cut himself off as a wall of golden light appeared at his side an instant before The Slayer’s blade cut the man in half. Instead, the blade bounced off the barrier and buried itself into the stone at the man’s feet and knocked him off balance.
The healer recovered quickly but his physical strength was nowhere near enough to take even the blocked strike easily and before he could bring his gaze back to The Slayer a knee slammed into his chest. Volan slammed into the wall of the pyramid. Bones broke and flesh tore from the impact but as fast as they appeared they were gone in a flash of golden brilliance.
The Slayer’s assault didn’t slow however and the next moment his sword was back in hand with a flick of will, slicing down toward the man’s neck. This time the healer was ready and a barrier flashed into existence just inches away from his skin deflecting The Slayer’s strike with a detonation of golden light.

The Slayer’s wrath continued to fall with every wasted moment against The Healer. Disgust and irritation flooded from his burning soul at The Healer’s defensive combat style and that it only delayed his purpose further. A snarl appeared across the Slayer’s dead expression as The Healer planted his feet, dozens of golden shields springing to life around him and the weaklings within reach.
Then The Slayer understood. They knew of his superior resource. They knew if they prevented him from his purpose he would be forced to become a lesser thing once more…

The weaklings that had burdened him must have informed them. An irritation that could be dealt with… Next time.
Now though the barriers were just an annoyance, an obstacle to be sundered. The Slayer moved, his will surged from his flesh in a writhing mass of powerful tendrils then separating to lash out in all directions at the barriers.
Shields shattered and exploded in cascading waves of golden and white light, The Healer gasped in pain and shock before staggering backward, his face as white as his soul should be. The expression The Slayer had seen before reappeared on The Healer’s face and the shields returned, this time in multiple layers.
The Slayer saw the gold-blue threads darting through the air to form the barriers but their speed and precision were faster than he could intercept. His eyes flashed crimson in irritation and his will tendrils whirled around him once more with even more force as tendrils recombined to form more dense patterns. The Healer seemed to flinch even before his barriers were destroyed but then something happened.
A thread of purple mana darted through the courtyard before exploding into dozens of individual tiny threads homing in on his location. It was mind mana and not something worth defending against but The Slayer’s soul exploded into an inferno of hatred and his remaining will hardened into a blade of furious will to punish the one who cast it.
“Now!” A voice cried out from within the passage and in an instant a tiny elf hag appeared in front of him, space mana warping the air around her. A tiny hand darted in to touch his chest even as his sword parted the air on its way to her skull.
The Slayer felt the air around him twist and his perception shifting to somewhere else but his gaze fell upon The Healer once more, “Clever dead…”

Leo leaped through the air, his flaming sword upraised and brought it down across the scion’s face. Dark blood marbled with glowing green sprayed into the air catching fire and becoming ash before it hit the ground. The scion recovered almost immediately and a lance of green felflame sprung from its open palm in a wide arc forcing Leo to dive into a roll not suitable for someone as heavily armored as himself while his Shield of the Brightwing manifested around him, absorbing most of the heat from the scion’s devastating skill.
The beam of deadly flame continued past Leo to carve through dozens of shadow fiends but the scion didn’t seem to care at all and simply brought the beam back around to fend Leo off once more. Fire against fire was a bad match for both of them turning a normally quick battle into a battle of attrition. Flame against flame, sword against sword.
Leo sprung back to his feet and hacked the demon’s arm to the side as it came around again before planting his boot in the demon’s chest. The maneuver paid off and Leo was rewarded with a satisfying crunch as the demon’s armor cracked and caved. Leo’s strength was far beyond the norm of a fire mage and it often worked greatly in his favor.
As the scion staggered backward from the kick, more dark burning blood sputtering from its face and mouth Leo sent a wave of flame across more encroaching demons getting a glimpse of Jak’s nearby battle.
The man sent waves of cascading ripples of earth in all directions through the enemy force. He panted for breath after each swing but the power behind each of them never dropped. Leo knew that both Hedrik and Jak were going all out, he needed to end this scion.
The scion recovered as Leo approached a hint of desperation on its face and an orb began to grow over its head. Leo didn’t give a chance to commit to the skill and sent a bolt of his own flame to overwhelm the orb as stepped in close, drove a shoulder into the scion’s chest and brought his sword down in a powerful stroke.
