Burned by the ambient felflame the bonedrinker flinched as its fleshed suddenly blistered. The slayer carved a deep line down its back as he fell and spun into an ankle-snapping kick with an activation of Wrath Incarnate. Its ankle shattered and it staggered but still managed to bring its fist around in retribution. His healed collarbone snapped again as his torso snapped backwards but he avoided being thrown by forcing the strike to throw him towards the ground.

His soul roared and taunted the walking corpses but their pathetic intents tried to resist. As he twisted back to standing slammed his foot into the side of the already falling bonedrinker and sent it to the tiny spire that had been protected by his body during the first annihilation. The stone cracked and the nearly thirty feet of stone fell to pin the demon's leg then crushed it into a paste as the rest of it tipped over and fell to the floor of the caldera.
The bonedrinker screamed in rage and agony as gallons of blood sprayed from the messily severed limb. Mutilation bonus notifications continued to flood his log as they always did but another came that made his soul flare and the more unwanted emotions flitter as its gold display flashed in front of his eyes.
Kuroxet Bonedrinker has entered a death rage.
Kuroxet has sacrificed part of its soul in the hopes of slaying you. This is a system-prohibited action but cannot be prevented within the layers of the abyssal horizon.
Let them know fear.
[Entities Marked: Kuroxet Bonedrinker | Death Rage, Felflame Scion | Enraged]
The wrath generated by Slayer’s Intent nearly doubled as the bonedrinker climbed to its knees. Its severed leg and arm almost exploded back into existence and the demon’s killing intent was almost blinding to look at.
Fully recovered the demon turned and-
He was hurting through the air as his chest was trying to knit itself back together. Blood sprayed from his mouth as he cleared his ruptured airways and tumbled back into one of the still remaining tunnels. He had barely gotten to his feet as the bonedrinker arrived.
Wrath Incarnate activated instantly and with the extra wrath generated as his soul and the demons competed for supremacy he could use it more actively.
Their right fist clashed and the tunnel cracked the demon twisted into a shoulder charge slamming him into the wall and shattering it and the next before he got hold of the demon's arm and threw it over his shoulder into the third wall it exploded and they tumbled into an open chasm. The slayer kicked the bonedrinker and caught the edge with his clawed hand. The demon slammed its feet into the opposite chasm wall leaped the gap and slammed him into the harder chasm wall.

Without enough wrath to escape, he covered the demon in crimson flame and sunk his fangs into the demon’s face. One of his fangs of malice struck the demon’s eye bursting it with a sizzling pop but the demon barely reacted and simply threw him across the chasm into the other wall.

His still broken ribs and weak collarbone weakened his arms so as hit the opposite he was forced to kick back towards the bonedrinker. Wrath Incarnate activated as he kicked the outstretched arm of the demon and brought his claws across its face and neck as it held to the side of the chasm. The attack gored the demon but it didn’t react and neither did the slayer as the demon caught him by the leg and crushed his foot before throwing him back through the hole they fell through.
He tumbled and as he came to his feet the scion appeared through the hole in the second wall and brought its flaming sword towards him. The slayer reacted instantly as his soul roared to destroy the pathetic thing. He ignored the instinct and deflected the sword and with another activation of Wrath Incarnate shattered the scion’s arm before throwing him out the entrance of the tunnel, he required wrath.
An instant later the bonedrinker arrived again in a rush of broken stone. He followed after the scion and exited into the opening of the caldera and as he fell threw two wrath-infused ribs at the oncoming demon. They both hit one exploded out the back of the demon at kidney height and the other struck its right kneecap. The crimson flames spread across the demon’s joint so when it landed its leg buckled.
As it fell he leaped forward, spent half of his free points in strength, activated Wrath Incarnate, his strength reaching new heights, and plunged his straightened claws into the demon's eyes.

Several of his fingers snapped as they failed to penetrate the demon’s scale but his right index and middle finger held strong and pierced the demon’s brain. It fell limp as the massive brain damage paralyzed it but he could feel the demon’s regeneration trying to repair the damage almost immediately so he left his fingers in and stepped onto the demon's back and began sawing at its neck with his left hand’s broken but still sharp claws.

After nearly a minute of saw and another burst of Wrath Incarnate he tore the demon’s head free with a seemingly endless torrent of black blood pouring from its neck as notifications came in.

Title acquired: True Slayer of Demonkind [Epic]
The giddy feeling returned and he couldn’t help but chuckle as he looked at the top edge of the caldera to see the form of the scion climbing up the side.
Screaming, endless screaming-
“Now go, show them your wrath.”
----------------------------------------
Ilkandra, a scion of a Fel lord ran. He panted as he climbed to the top of the caldera that had been created by his Fel Annihilation. Ilkandra had used over half of his resources in that single attack and the mortal had survived.
He had known of the mortal’s strength from the reports of his conjurers but what he had witnessed was insanity. They had hoped to either kill it or waste most of its resources with the first strike. But it wasn’t enough, even working with the bonedrinker wasn’t enough.
Now he had nothing left- Ilkandra froze as he felt his felheart flutter and go cold. He looked over his shoulder and saw the mort- no, monster standing on top of the bonedrinker’s massive death rage-empowered body holding its severed head.
“No... No, no!” Ilkandra panicked. He had to run, he had to escape.
“Servants! Assist me!” Calling across the bonds between him and his conjurers felhearts.
There was no reply. He could sense them nearby so he tried to locate the traitorous filth as he fled, powered by only his physical attributes as his felflame was yet to recover at all.
There! His conjurers were atop one of the spires that had so far survived the destruction of the mana storm overhead, “I command you to assist me now!”
They ignored him and a moment later the spire exploded in a wave of green flame and a pillar of flame shot across the sky towards the edge of the dome, “I will see your hearts extinguished! For this-” A thud from behind made Ilkandra flinch and turn around before he was thrown backward as his armor and chest were caved in.
He slammed into the side of a fallen spire and the thing that hit him buried itself into his chest, spraying blood and cracking his felheart making green embers singe the wound. Disorientated, he looked down at the grievous wound and groaned in agony and fear as the mutilated eye sockets of the bonedrinker looked back at him, its severed head lodged in his chest cavity.
Ilkandra shook as fear overwhelmed and his felheart continued to weaken as the monster drew closer.
The monster stood still over two hundred feet away but Ilkandra knew there was no escape. He tried to stand anyway as the monster approached its gate slow but steady as its horrendously damaged body approached but his legs wouldn’t work.
“Wha.. what are you?” He choked out as more blood poured from his wound and mouth. His felheart fluttered barely clinging onto life as the monster froze in response.
Its face twisted darting between expressions faster than Ilkandra could keep track of. Its pale face went from superior indifference to savage glee then sadness, horror, and more that he couldn’t make sense of.
Then it stopped and the monster’s dead eyes once again focused on him and his felheart died.
----------------------------------------
“Wha.. what are you?”
The words rang in his ears as his mind quaked. Emotions began flooding back into his mind corrupting the perfection of thought that he had maintained for days in his slaughter of the enemy.
He wanted to laugh, cry, scream, and kill. The slayer tried to hold firm onto the protective barrier of Slayer’s Apathy that surrounded his brain but as he brought his will to bear the barrier shattered into countless fragments and only remained in its general shape because of the will he spared to maintain it.
A woman’s hand reached from the bottom of a pile of corpses. Pale. She reached towards him in death but her expression glimpsed between the layers of dead atop her.
A beaded in his eye but Slayer’s Apathy still protected him from the weak emotion. But he knew that at any moment the skill would collapse. But why? His will was still strong due to his increased levels despite Soul Maw draining him daily.

He understood immediately once he saw his intellect. It was pathetically low and the guide that created the shape his barrier should take was almost solely made of intellect strands. He used all the free points he had remaining and put them in intellect but as he suspected the barrier was now beyond saving.
He rearranged his status to better comprehend the issue.

It appeared he had been foolish in disregard for his intellect. It wouldn’t happen again if he survived what was coming with his mind intact.
Blue dead eyes.
The slayer flinched as a fragment of the barrier vanished and more of whatever was contained in the symbol sunk into his mind.
He had only moments before it failed but he held strong as turned to face the mutilated body of the cowardly felflame scion. A single stomp of his barefoot was all it would take now.
Skull and brains splattered- endless red- over the fallen spire as the kill- bloodshot- notifications came in and as Slayer’s Apathy shattered and his protection vanished he fell to his knees and the pain of his injuries finally arrived but they were nothing to words that suddenly came to him as the visions took him.
