The feeling of having your body cooking, because you're absorbing all sorts of energy, is extremely unpleasant. You can feel the solar energy, astral energy, and many other energies forcing themselves into my body. I just grit my beak and let myself absorb this energy even though it's painful. My bird tears evaporate as soon as they start. Alexander thought to himself.
All of a sudden he heard Chirping and screeching.
Alexander looked up to see his mother hopping mad. He took a quick peek and noticed that the crow nest has started to smolder. “I guess absorbing energy like this might cause my nest to burn up. I wonder if Frindle used a barrier on me to prevent me from burning it up in my first cultivation session.” He thought to himself.
All of a sudden He heard her "speak" in his mind. ”Are you ok? Why are you so hot?” She asked.
Mom? Alexander replied. He had used the mental energy communication technique that Frindle imparted to him.
He tilted my head and looked at her wide-eyed. He must have looked goofy because she stopped hopping around and looking upset.
“You can speak!” She cawed out very loudly.
She suddenly composed herself The great being gave me some knowledge while she was petting me. One of the things she taught me was universal language and how to use mental energy. She also gave me a way to get stronger. I will be the best crow ever she puffed up her chest and her plumage shone lightly as if responding to her.
“Mother umm… shall I move out of the nest?” Alexander asked nervously.
Perish the thought my child we can just expand the nest. I shall go savaging for materials, now that you can cultivate you shall protect the nest while I am looking for better materials. We will grow into the most powerful crow clan ever. She started to laugh Caw Caw Caw. It was funny watching a bird laugh like that even if she was my mother.

I will protect my siblings while you're out gathering materials; I will also cultivate carefully just outside of the nest so that I won't damage the egg's mother. Alexander proclaimed.
She stopped Cawing for a second and took a deep look at me and spoke. You are very intelligent for a hatchling my son. Alexander was a bit nervous about what she said and she hopped and waddled over she lifted her wing and stroked his head with pride and affection. The figurative sweat rolled down his back. He turned his head and looked at his mother and she spoke "I will be gone for a while you must protect our home child". Alexander nodded silently and watched her fly off. Hours after Mother left Alexander decided to cultivate.
He looked at the unhatched eggs and with vigilance and he then quietly surveyed the area and saw nothing. He had adjusted himself and walked out of the nest onto the branch and then started to cultivate again but then all of a sudden the feathers on his neck started to get erect and felt danger. He quickly stopped cultivating and looked around the surroundings and still didn't see anything resembling a threat. He thought about starting to cultivate again but quickly remembered Friendle's warning about how dangerous the world is.
He looked through his implanted memories and found some perception techniques that she had left that were simple to understand. First was the heat detection vision which sounded exactly like it was.
Alexander focused qi into his eyes and quickly looked around he suddenly saw a bit of reddish qi coming from his sibling's eggs. He looked all around the nest and didn't see anything but He didn't stop looking for danger he quickly changed his technique to qi-sensing eyes. That's when he saw it a thin qi like a string on the trunk of the tree. He removed the technique and looked at the trunk of the tree and didn't see anything but he knew something was there.
Alexander quickly shot his thunder-crow electric flame at the spot where he saw the qi and heard an angry hiss. It was loud and sounded like it was in pain. It was then I knew I'd be in for a tough fight because had heard the sound of a snake. Any creature that was injured will always put up a tougher fight as its survival instincts kick in.
