15. Frindle's fury

There she was Frindle a battlefield commander known for her calm demeanor and peaceful temperament violently rampaging around as if she was the second coming of Bolly the mad barbarian. Her eyes had tears falling down he face unlike the transparent colors of normal tears hers were crimson as if blood poured out of her eyes.

As she was rampaging she reminisced of her past.

For a long period of time she was wrapped in darkness she had felt fearful of it days became weeks and weeks became months.

When months became years her sanity began to slip she didn't understand why she felt that way but she struggled to break free from the darkness.

When the madness almost became overwhelming she felt something she had never felt before warmth.

It wasn't something she was familiar with but as quickly as it arrived it vanished.

The madness seemed to become more intense.

"Why was I given a taste of something that made me feel comfortable and safe only for it to be taken away!" She became furious.

Just as her fury came so did the warmth this time she didn't want to let it go.

She tried to grab the warmth, Not knowing what grabbing meant but she didn't want to let go like a child seeking her mother for comfort.

In her attempt she made the warmth apart of her and it mixed with her being and felt comfortable.

Then she felt herself break free from some kind of shackle and she broke her confinement, she noticed her self change and she started to grow.

She had broken through the rough and tough ground.

She didn't have eyes but she could see around her and she noticed the barren land and felt overwhelming sadness.

After a few days of absorbing the warmth new memories or maybe instructions filled her mind. She knew she had to grow she had to make herself stronger.

Years went by the rough ground was nourished by her everyday. When she took in the warmth of the sun it gave her the energy to grow and as she grew so did the barren world.

One day little green spikes grew from the ground around her.She didn't know what these were called but they felt like tiny imitations of her.

These spikes were rigid but after some time they softened and gently moved in the wind. They also nourished the ground and area around them and continued to spread outward.

Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon.

Year after year she grew and so did the world around her.

Her roots which nourished the soil by taking in the excess yang energy which converted into something gently and warm.It was an energy that represented her mood. One day she was able to see all around her and her heart shook.

Miles upon miles of lush green land and it was connected to her. She was overwhelmingly happy to see the once barren world become green.

Decades went by but she never grew tired of watching the land transform. Bushes started to form and more variety of plants started sprouting.

A millennium goes by and she is gigantic towering above mountains the land feels different to her she doesn't know why but it was just different.

Two dozen more years flow by and she notices something on the horizon green things moving but they were different. Their bark was smoother than hers , their roots were above ground and moving without the wind and they also had two branches that were leafless. They were odd she admitted to herself but she was excited nonetheless.

Everyday they came closer and closer to her, She couldn't wait for the creatures to arrive.

She called out to them "Come closer, come closer." She knew they didn't hear her but she felt as if her intentions were felt.

When they reached a certain distance she felt them intimately as if they were apart of her just like one of her branches but different. The tallest one came closer while the others stayed behind acting all cautiously.

The tall one spoke but she couldn't understand and she quickly became frustrated but the tall one pressed her head against her and they were connected on an even deeper level.

Then they spoke. "Great green of the land." she said almost giddy. I am Tepa Elder of the Teafee tribe she replied. My inner voice was hoarse it was rough and gravely. "Yes child, I hear you". I replied calmly but I fear I might of let some excitement out.

"May we of the Teafee tribe bask in the shade of your branches." Tepa asked with expectations of hope in her voice.

The great tree did not understand but images flowed into her mind as Tepa showed her what she wanted. They wanted to be near her and under her. She did not understand why they wanted to be under her branches but she said yes. It was the first group of people who had interacted with her and she did not want to let them go out of fear of being alone.

Tepa the elder visited her often and The great tree absorbed the knowledge she shared. She then told The Great one a story. "A little over 500 years ago many plants and trees became aware and in time they developed a language and and one curious little sapling barely 20 years old climbed the mountain and was shocked beyond belief. She ran as fast as she could back to the tribe and told us what she saw. Leafteay the curious sapling never know to lie we grew curious at her claim of a tree so vast that it could be seen from so far away. We couldn't help but be curious ourselves. What we saw was awe inspiring a giant magnificent tree. You were majestic and we couldn't help but to make the journey but who knew it would take 13 years. Your size gave a false impression of the journey. We traveled with our hearts never wavering until we reached here."

The Great one chuckled. "I'm glad you made the journey, I couldn't be anymore happier than I am now." She replied to Tepa.

I am so glad we made the journey Great One, being near you calms out hearts and we feel your warmth greater than before. When we first became aware we didn't know what we were but your warmth was always there. The great tree felt happy she replied I'm glad that my warmth kept you company during your awakening I too felt great comfort in the warmth. Both the Great tree and Tepa felt happy and they continued chatting into the night.

Frindle continued to remember the past and her anger grew more and more uncontrollable. These once peaceful memories that she buried in her heart became exposed like an open wound.
