Chapter 78: Lakisha’s Return

Chapter 78: Lakisha’s Return

Day 11

Autumn awoke at first light. Everyone was asleep. She walked around the city unguarded. It was a pretty city and even though they wanted to kill her, the city seemed to be at peace. As if nothing bad every happened.

Lakisha had been saved by a boy who wanted to keep her like a pet. Teach her things and dressing her up. He was a sweet boy but a boy none the less and boys like boobs. This Lakisha had and more of then most of the women there.

Lakisha didn’t know what the name of the city was but they had been nice to her. Fed her, clothed her and even given her a bed to sleep in. She worried about James and hoped to return to the castle to see him.

Then a woman who seemed to scare everyone arrived. She was even willing to kill children and now they were sending her away with that woman. Or at least as far as she could understand.

At sunrise Cascada woke up, thinking she was the first to awake. She went to check on Autumn but she was gone.

Ooh oh, she thought, this is bad very bad.

She rushed out into the city, but it was at peace everyone was sleeping. The sins of the people forgotten. Cascada liked that about the city. Every day was a new day. A new chance to make things better, to be better.

“What’s wrong?” Autumn asked Cascada.

“Yyaaaa” she jumped “You scared me. Don’t sneak up on people like that.”

“Looking for me?” Autumn asked.

“Yes. I want to send you with supplies for the journey.”

“When do I get to leave?” Autumn asked.

“Once your things are packed and Lakisha is woken up.”

“She is still sleeping?” Autumn asked surprised.

“Almost everyone is still sleeping. It’s really early.” Cascada replied.

Stolen from its original source, this story is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

Autumn sat on the boat that would take her out of the swamp with a bag with food and water. Lakisha was brought to the boat she had a bag with souvenirs and food. It seemed she was liked.

The boat trip out of the swamp was a quiet one. Only Lakisha tried to communicate. Autumn had nothing to say. Her mind tried to puzzle together everything she had learnt. Her people, even her mom had saved those horrible, selfish blue haired freaks. Blue freaks that lived happily while ignoring the suffering of those that saved them. She wondered if any of the survivors of her tribe remembered saving blue haired freaks.

Autumn was angry and hurt that her people, that she had suffered, clinging to hope that she would one day be free. But everyone she loved, her family all died working the mines for the queen. That wretched red haired evil Terror!

They left the swamp and the boat pulled up to the shore.

“Here we are. Climb up that side of the waterfall and follow the river until you find the trail to the City Point.” He said.

Autumn and Lakisha got out. He left without even saying goodbye.

Autumn led the way, Lakisha followed in silence. She had given up trying to talk.

Lakisha followed the woman up the side of the waterfall. It was a steep climb. She had been well taken care of by the blue haired people. Her hair which was feeling terrible before was now beautiful and even better than it had been on earth. Her skin was soft and smooth. She was now wearing a long blue jacket with black pants and shirt that she had been given.

The woman leading her had scares, her eyes where silver and her hair a black blue. She was muscular and looked scary like someone who was muscle for bad men in a movie. One of the German or Russian woman that could break a person in half with their bare hands.

The walked seemed like hours before Autumn stopped to eat and have water. It seemed like hours more before they finally saw the castle. Autumn had not followed the directions given to her but rather a short cut which made the trip shorter by half a day.

People were fighting and killing one another along the tree line near the castle. Autumn walked out pulling Lakisha by the arm. She marched across the field and to the lower castle town. Dodging arrows and men with swords. Lakisha screamed most of the way across the field until the low castle town.

“I am here to see the queen. I have this woman she wanted.” Autumn said to the guard.

“No one can just see the queen.” He objected.

“I am Autumn and I was doing a job for the queen.” She began to grow inpatient.

“I don’t care you may not see the queen.” He insisted.

“Who is in charge?” she asked.

Autumn raised her voice

“Get me the person in charge right now!” she yelled.

“Hey what is going on here?” Another guard asked.

“Woman you may not be here. A peace conference is being prepared for. Please report to your area commander and he will bring a message if it’s important.”

“Fine, when the queen has your head, I will say I told you so!” Autumn said turning to leave.

“Who are you?” he asked.

“Autumn from the Lovac tribe with this woman who the queen is paying me to find.”

They looked at Lakisha. She looked well-kept like someone of importance or money.

“Wait.” The guard said.

“No, follow up with my area commander.” She snapped still walking away, pulling Lakisha with her.

Then Zazo arrived.

“Autumn” he said weary of her “What do you want?”

“To deliver this dead body to the queen. Found it in the swamp!”

“James’ kin is alive. The queen will be happy. Come with me.” His spirits lifted.

After the queen had sent message to not bring Black Breads head, he was unsure what she wanted. So, he was returning to the castle for orders. Being able to give the queen good news lighten his spirit. He was no longer afraid to arrive empty handed.
