Day 8

Meanwhile Fiona was traveling with Nicolette to conquer the mountain. They had an armed escort and one of the soldiers who walked with them was kind of cute. Well, he was fine, and good -looking.

Fiona began to complain about Ranger to Nicolette.

“I don’t get it. When I want more, he doesn’t but as soon as I move on, he changes his mind. What’s with that?!”

“Men are a mountain that cannot be conquered.” Nikki replied.

“I poured out my heart to him and he embarrassed me. Now I’m just supposed to forget that and be happy he wants me! It doesn’t work that way.” She huffed.

Nikki realized she was just talking out loud and not talking to her at all.

“So, what do you want?” Nikki asked hopping this wasn’t going to be her whole trip.

“Want!? I want him to understand that I am not easy. To appreciate me.”

“To want you back.” Nikki ventured.

“Yes, and to respect me.”

Fiona carried on for a while with Nikki adding in a few things here and there. Making her say what she wants from him, what he was offering that to her and she sent him away because she was hurt and embarrassed. Not that Fiona put it that way, but Nikki did.

“So, in truth you got want you wanted but you were, offended, hurt and embarrassed.” Nikki said hoping this would end the Ranger talk.

“No!” Fiona defensively argued

“He must show me that he wants me. Prove himself. Haven’t you been listening to anything I have been saying?”

“Oh, I’ve heard you. I feel like I know him personally. But on a serious note. You have to decide what you want? If you’re willing to forgive him? If he’s worth all this? And not out loud.”

Fiona frowned at her.

“Do you have someone special?” Fiona asked.

“Please can we talk about… anything else, I am all done with the boy talk.”

So, they talked about all the countries Nikki had been extreme sporting in. Just as Nikki thought Fiona was half way cool she opened her mouth

“Do you think I should go back and talk to him?” Fiona asked.

SOMEBODY SAVE ME! Nikki thought.
