Press number 1759-ish.

You press the button.

Dong.

The poetry is gone. Sadly. Instead, your room is now filled with bricks!

Wait, bricks?

Yep! Your room contains a pallet of bricks! ...We really need to fire that intern.

They’re all neatly stacked on a wooden pallet. Just a pallet full of plain red bricks. Joy of joys.

You start taking the bricks off the pallet. You go to the opposite corner and set them down.

Then you go back to the pallet and repeat.

It looks like you’re planning on moving all of them.

...Well, that’s one way of getting exercise.

You eventually finish moving all the bricks, then pull the pallet over. And then you start re-stacking the bricks onto the pallet.

That’s fine. Take your time. I’m glad you’re enjoying yourself. Yep.

It takes, oh, maybe an hour or so? You aren’t in a particular hurry.

Hoo boy, are you not in a hurry.

Finally you get done and survey your work. It’s good work. Well done. Good job, dude.

You… You look like you’re considering moving them back. Are you considering moving them back? Because, I mean, there are plenty of other things you can do with them. Or- or you don’t have to do anything with them at all! You could just hit the button and see what comes next. I’m sure whatever’s next will be more interesting than bricks.

Right? Riiiiight?

----------------------------------------

You pick up a brick.

Aaaaaaaargh...

And then you put it back down.

Whew!

Yep. Looks like you’ve had as much fun with the bricks as you want to have.

----------------------------------------

You look them over thoughtfully. You bend over to look at the pallet. You nod. This has some potential.

You start pulling bricks off the pallet. After a while you get bored, and try shoving them off. Once enough are off, you grab the pallet and stand, tipping the rest of the bricks off.

Next, you start stacking them in a specific order. It looks like you’re building a fort? There are three walls, then one wall with a gap in the middle.

----------------------------------------

It takes like half an hour, but you finally make the walls tall enough, and put the pallet on top.

Aww, how cute! You’ve made yourself a little house!

You crawl in and sit down, cross-legged.

Yes. This is your home now. And it is adorable.

----------------------------------------

You poke your head out and look at the remaining bricks.

About half of them are left. Maybe more. You could build another house, if you wanted.

And it looks like you do want! This time, though, you start stacking them in the form of an igloo.

Now that’s an idea! Yeah, you go for it!

Yep, it takes another half an hour, but you manage to make a perfect little igloo. If anything, it’s even more cute than the fort thing.

You crawl into the igloo and look out.

Then you switch over to the fort and look out.

You can’t decide which one you like best.

Well, I could tell you which one I like best, if that would help. Would it help?

It wouldn’t? Well fine then. I won’t tell you.

Eventually you decide that you like the fort best. It offers the best view of everything. The igloo is cute, but your view is slightly cut off due to the angle of the entrance. Not as good.

Well, I’m glad you decided that.

You climb out and nod. All in all, a job well done.

----------------------------------------

You climb to the top of the bricks and take a seat, cross-legged.

Congratulations. You are now ruler of the bricks. You are commander of the room. Your high status is demonstrated by your high perch.

That’s how it works, right? Sure, that’s how it works.

This… This is really boring, actually. You climb back down.

----------------------------------------

After thinking it over, you pull out a dozen or so bricks, making a nice chair-shape.

You sit on that, claiming it as your throne.

...Yep, still boring.

Well that was fun! What next?

----------------------------------------

You pick one up, turn it on it’s edge, and smash it down onto another one with all your might.

Pieces of bricks crack off and go flying.

Ooh, this is fun!

You do it again, and a small poof of dust rises up. Destroying things is so much fun.

You spend, oh, an hour or so, just destroying bricks. You jump up and down on some, you throw some against the wall, you spike some into the ground. By the time you’re done, not one brick is whole.

If you were to rate this next to smashing the dishes, it’d be hard to tell which you enjoyed most. On the one hand, destroying the dishes was something you’ve always wanted to do. On the other, there were more of these, and it was more fun.

Hmm. This sounds like an issue you’ll be thinking over for years to come.

----------------------------------------

Having been sufficiently entertained by the bricks, you turn back to the button.

DO YOU PRESS THE BUTTON? Yes No
