Betrayal

June 15th, 1996

General POV

Plop, a young man crashed into his California king-sized bed. He immediately fell into a deep sleep. The man stayed asleep until the next day, around noon. He would have stayed sleeping, but some other people had plans for him.

“Sir, it’s time for you to wake up. You have a full day set finishing your training with Ms. Moriarty.” Jarvis said, moving the electronic curtains to let sunlight in.

“No, I’m not going. She’s been the worst out of all of them. Everyone else let me go after learning each industry's basics and getting some work experience with each job. That she demon expects me to know every minute detail of any piece of art. She’s used my perfect memory against me. I’ve made at least 20 mind palaces for the fashion industry alone! I should have never told her about my abilities. I’m now expected to be an encyclopedia for every possible design or piece of artwork. Just because I can remember doesn't mean I want to.” Desmond bemoaned back, sitting up in his bed.

“Boss, today’s the final day. If you pass her test, you’ll be done for good.” Friday tried to convince him.

“Easy for you to say. I failed her stupid test three times. She changes it every time and purposely makes it harder so she can cram more things into my head. I knew she was an art lover from the show. I wasn’t expecting her to be a freaking yandere for art. Forget that we’ll skip her class today. Is the list of powers finally ready?” Desmond asked.

“Yes, we completed it yesterday. You have enough points to buy your new powers and start your training. We also recommended a few extra ones for the additional points you accumulated before we began our calculation.” Friday replied. Friday then displayed them on the giant tv screen in front of him. After going through the list for an hour or so, he called out to the system.

Desmond immediately felt his view shift. Looking down at his hand, he could see the inner workings of his body. He could see perfectly how his muscles moved as he opened and closed his fist.

‘This will be useful in the future. I’ll shut it off for now, in any case. This power is very draining on the eyes.’ Desmond thought, using his other powers to deactivate it.

The new powers he purchased today would fix the issues he had with some prior powers. His original foundational powers needed a boost to be worth the time investment for training. The End, Template, and Fictional Learning had one colossal flaw when used together. He never had the potential or special bloodline abilities of characters.

Desmond tried early in the year to learn ninjutsu. When he used Template, he transformed into a child the same age as Trey. He also had average potential along with normal chakra. Desmond also learned he couldn’t learn any technique/skill past his current tier of power, and certain abilities needed the correct bloodline. The only workaround this was Array’s cloning power made with a bloodline. He didn’t want to waste his unique clones on testing and learning powers. So for the last six months, he saved all the points he received to remedy the problem.

Cassandra Nova’s powers were the key. Her abilities with DNA fixed all his issues. Now, he could use Template to turn into Minato(child) and have his full potential. If he wanted the Sharingan, he could easily transform into Itachi(child). Most Kekkei Genkai was also now available to him. He still needed to buy the DNA for each character, but it was a fraction of what the full character’s powers would’ve cost. The other benefit was that he could change the DNA of not only himself but others as well. Biokinesis he got from Joshua would, in the future, work in tandem with DNA manipulation. For his current tier of power, it gave him more healing abilities and a way to alter his molecules slightly. At later levels, he’ll be capable of Life Force manipulation and more.

Yoriichi and Hermione’s skills fixed areas he was deficient in. Transparent World would help him understand his body more as he experiments with different powers. The sword skills would help him have his own style. In addition, it would help create a new unique style in the future. Hopefully, he could combine mastery of multiple weapons together. Hermione’s knowledge will allow him to get started down the path of magic. The woman was practically a walking library on things related to magic. He would have chosen Dumbledore if he wasn’t so expensive. It would be good enough for now, with his current plan.

Desmond planned on making five shadow clones daily, focused on different tasks to break through to the next tier. They would be working on Breathing Techniques, Magic, Javelins, Chakra, and Nen. Each gave him an excellent chance to break into the next level. The Javelin project was the best out of the bunch. His shadow clone, Jarvis, and Friday would all try to combine the schematics of all four javelins into one perfect Javelin. He planned to call the Stormcepter. Since the main body would be a mix of the interceptor & storm javelins, respectively, Desmond estimated he would break through by the time he turned ten.

‘The last thing I need to figure out is what I will be doing during this time. The clones covered training his powers. Trey would work out & produce more fictional works. I need something to do for myself.’ Desmond thought to himself. Before he could continue his thoughts, his sense went off.

BOOM!

A small explosion went off as the door to his bedroom exploded into tiny pieces. Desmond jumped up to see what was going on. He then saw three knives coming directly at him. He quickly dodged, flipping over them. Mid-air, his attacker, draped in a black cloak, flashed forward, kneeing him in the chest. He was then grabbed by both arms slamming him to the floor.

THUMP.

Desmond groaned and looked at his assailant. He saw a familiar-looking robotic suit of armor. The headpiece opened up to reveal a beautiful blonde woman.

“Des, you’ve forced my hand skipping class. Don’t try deactivating this javelin. I haven’t broken any of the rules. Dragging you back to class technically isn’t causing you harm.” Jamie said, smiling at him.

“You literally threw knives at me! Jarvis deactivate her interceptor. My power isn’t working because of this stupid loophole.” Desmond demanded.

“I can’t, sir. Per rule, two of the magic contract members cannot harm other members,” Jarvis replied.

“Jarvis, remember rule three, my orders are….” Desmond never got the chance to finish as Jamie knocked him out. She gently caressed his face with love. Her eyes glinted with hints of madness.

“You’re the third mind I have found interesting in my lifetime. You brought me here into a land where gods walk amongst men. Where anything is truly possible, and of all the people you could’ve chosen, you chose me. I have more than I could’ve ever asked for. My curiosity and my craving for new experiences get filled every day. I have the opportunity to mold the man who will one day be a God. You’ll be my greatest plan and masterpiece. I’ll never let you go, darling. You’re my new life’s work.” Jamie whispered sweetly to him, slinging him on her shoulder.

“Jarvis, Friday, always a pleasure doing business with fellow members. I’ll be sure to remind him of Project Automata when he gets stronger.” Jamie said, walking out of the room with her ‘masterpiece’.

“Our pleasure Ms. Moriarty.” Jarvis & Friday responded together. Desmond had been betrayed. His other self didn’t help either when he felt the mental connection go out. Once Jarvis told Trey Desmond was fine, he returned to enjoying time with his sister.
