Becoming my rival's love interest!
A happy day to leave work early!

A happy day to leave work early!

The hallway was quiet, the lights were dim. Jin-Jie reached downward to her stomach to try and pry the grasping hands off of her.

“Syaoran? Are you ok?” Jin-Jie expressed concern for her friend. Syaoran has never done this? Is he feeling well?

… Syaoran remained silent for a bit before tightening.

“Hey if somethings wrong you can tell me!” Jin-Jie stomped her foot.

“You don’t have to leave… You can stay here.” Syaoran’s voice was low.

“Yeah, but its not right! I can’t be a freeloader forever!” Jin-Jie finally broke free of Syaoran’s grasp.

“Don’t worry I’ll definitely visit a lot, were still friends after all!” Jin-Jie slipped into her room, leaving words stuck in Syaoran’s throat. Syaoran reached out his hand, but closed it. When was the right time? And how dense can you be Jin-Jie.

The next morning Jin-Jie got up very early to go for a jog. She slipped on her jogging attire, and was ready to tackle the day.

“Good Morning Jie Jie.”

“Awk!” Jin-Jie leaped back a little. Jin-Jie had just opened the door and was ready to go only to be greeted.

“Syaoran were you waiting for me?” Jin-Jie joked as she walked past him. Syaoran was in fact waiting. He generally knew Jin-Jie’s routine, and wanted to close the distance between them.

“I just happen to be out.” Syaoran gave an aloof response.

“In track pants.” Jin-Jie giggled, as she pulled an ice frappe from the fridge.

“You want some?” Jin-Jie asked.

Immediately, Syaoran thought of kissing Jin-Jie, and saying ‘It tasted sweet’. But dismissed the thought, when he thought of the potential risks.

“Here” Jin-Jie handed him a bottle.

“Your coming with ? right?” Jin-Jie started to tie her sneakers. Syaoran nodded, as both of them headed for the park.

The park was nice, it overlooked a nice lake. The park’s rectangular center was filled with vivid greenery, it was the perfect place for a picnic. However that’s not what Jin-Jie came here to do. Immediately once Jin-Jie popped in her ear buds she took off with lightning speed. Syaoran took off as well, but found himself losing sight of Jin-Jie.

“Aren’t you … supposed … to be jogging…” Syaoran breathed deeply.

Around 15 minutes later Jin-Jie approached Syaoran who was resting on a bench.

“Were you always this nonathletic.” Jin-Jie sat next to Syaoran. Syaoran could see the sweat dripping down Jin-Jie’s face. Jin-Jie had unzipped her sweater a little, and her chest poked out.

“My job has kept me sitting down most of the time.” Syaoran turned away, a little red.

“Are you still working at that dreaded law firm?” Jin-Jie asked as she rocked her feet a little.

“No no, not anymore. I have my own practice, I may have many people working under me now.” Syaoran handed Jin-Jie a drink.

“Thanks.” Jin-Jie smiled.

“But, wow your really set then. You must have no problem picking up girls, why don’t you start settling down.” Jin-Jie took a gulp out of her drink. Syaoran’s face looked a little glum as he stared at Jin-Jie.

“I remember, Nancy? Do you still meet with her?” Jin-Jie spat out one of Syaoran’s ex girlfriends. Syaoran shook his head.

“There is someone I’m pursuing now.” Syaoran stared deeply into Jin-Jie’s eyes.

“Eh really who!” Jin-Jie placed two hands on the bench and leaned her head in. Cute. Syaoran leaned back a little.

This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere.

“It’s you.” Is what Syaoran wanted to say. But he held himself back. The worst case would be for Jin-Jie to distance herself from him.

“Don’t worry about it.” Syaoran smiled and ruffled Jin-Jie’s hair.

“Hey don’t be shy! You know as a new girl I can be an investigative spy!” Jin-Jie stood up proud of herself, and spread her arms out in a a weird pose.

“I’ll keep your services in mind.” Syaoran chuckled to himself.

Jin-Jie puffed her checks a little, till she looked at her phone.

“I’ll make you tell me later! I gotta get to work. President Yu, is really trying to get me to do activities as his gf. I’m happy hes feeling better now, but I don't see what the purpose is anymore, we already made our statement.”

Syaoran’s eyes turned a little dark. “ Hey Jie Jie how bout you work at my firm, we have a couple postings for a technician.” Syaoran’s deep gaze was directed at Jin-Jie.

“Eh it’s fine! I’m being paid well, and I feel like I’m transitioning to an actual position soon.” Jin-Jie swayed her hips a little. Syaoran looked down, questioning what he could do.

He must be lonely, I have been staying late more often. “Hey don’t feel lonely! I’ll come home early today! Ill just work more in the morning!” Jin-Jie gave a power stance before running off to work.

Confidently walking into the office, Jin-Jie chugged another protein drink before sitting down.

Have you gotten to comfortable. Lian thought, as he saw her bold behavior.

“Good Morning President Yu, I am reporting” Jin-Jie gave a slight bow before sitting down on the chair next to Lian.

“So funny.” Lian chuckled to himself. Polite or bashful which are you?

Jin-Jie muscled through most of her work before, getting up.

“Where are you going?” Lian questioned.

“Bathroom silly” Jin-Jie trotted out of the room.

“She could just use the one in the office.” Lian groaned.

In the bathroom, Jin-Jie thought of the best way to convince Lian of her early leave. She splashed some water on her face and stared at herself in the mirror.

Aww! I forgot I was wearing make up! Jin-Jie groaned as she reapplied herself.

“Hey Lian.” Jin-Jie returned from the bathroom and sat in her chair.

“You think I could leave a little early today? I promised a friend I’d hang out with them.

Lian shuffled his papers to the side. Was I to pushy yesterday? Lian rubbed his temples before looking at Jin-Jie.

“I’m sorry, but you must stay for the entire work day.” Lian promptly said.

“But I am an excellent worker, I can leave a little bit early today right. See See.” Jin-Jie showed her work to Lian, like a grade schooler.

Lian sighed. “Good then you can accompany on a public dinner with the head of another technical conglomerate.”

Jin-Jie’s jaw dropped. What!

“Hey I know I said I want to to leave early right. I definitely don’t want to stay later!” Jin-Jie stared the beast in his eyes.

“You know your under contract to accompany me right.” Lian didn't want to pull out this card, but he felt he had to. Jin-Jie was perhaps to comfortable with him now. Jin-Jie sighed.

“Come on pretty please!” Jin-Jie begged. Lian stared into Jin-Jie’s beautiful ocean eyes.

“Fine…” Lian looked away. Damn Lian thought. She’s to cute.

“Yes!” Jin-Jie arose from her seat. “Thanks! I’ll be sure to help you find a sweetheart soon!” Jin-Jie offered the best advice she thought would please him.

“Wait-” Lian reached his hand towards the closing door. “It’s still before lunch, this isn't just early this is taking a day off!” Lian got up and was about to chase after Jin-Jie.

Lian sat back down. She clearly was very excited today, maybe it’s her friends birthday or something.

“The only sweetheart I need is you.” Lian’s heart stung a little recalling Jin-Jie’s last words.

“Bzzz Syao-ran. I mean Mr-” It’s fine Wendy were not that formal here, just call me by my first name.

A little flustered the new front desk assistant stuttered “Sy-ao-ran you have a guest.”

“Tell them to make an appointment, I’m very busy.” Syaoran shuffled his papers.

“I’m sorry miss, it seems he is currently very busy, I can help you schedule an appointment.” Wendy left her com open.

Just when Syaoran was about to mute her he heard a familiar loud voice.

“Are you sure he isn't just sleeping, or being lazy!” Jin-Jie through her hands up at the security camera.

Immediately Syaoran snapped to his phone. “Let her up” Syaoran grabbed his phone with so much force he dropped his pencil case over. Jin-Jie heard the crashing, and laughed.

“What a klutz!” Jin-Jie smiled, and asked for directions.

“Dun Dun!” Jin-Jie Opened the door the Syaoran’s office. “See I am here, very early! Lets get lunch Mr.Busy!”

Lian adjusting his pencils smiled as he obediently nodded. Lets go here. Syaoran gave Jin-Jie a menu. The Menu looked like any old family restaurant? Why did Syaoran have this? Was he prepared!

“Oh whats this?” Jin-Jie was spoiled going to 5 star restaurants with Lian, she almost forgot what a normal place was like.

“It’s Cars, a place you wanted to go to, well, before…”

“Oh did I?” Jin-Jie put a finger to her lip as she tried to recall.

“Well I’m sure its great if your picking it out, maybe I’ll remember when I get there!” Jin-Jie picked up Syaoran’s coat and threw it at him. Syaoran through over his coat. “It’s pretty famous for gluttons. Your favorite.” Syaoran teased.

Normally any woman would take that as an insult, but Jin-Jie knew what she was. “I’ll be the judge of that!”
