Chapter 7

I ruminated over what she said while trying to sleep that night.

Of course she did not knew what firebending was, I was reference a piece of media from my world, how would she understand it. But wait, does that mean bending does not exist in this world.

Then what Alexa said the other day repeated in my head, "There is nothing preventing you from gaining any [class] you wish," and "'The sky's the limit.'"

These two quotes started to echo in my mind keeping me up that night.

----------------------------------------

The first thing I did the next day was head over to the library. I went through the books that recorded elemental focused and elemental variants of know [classes] and my guess was correct. No mention of bending or anything similar to bending in any of the texts. There were some examples of elemental manipulation but they were either spells, manifestation of specific [skills], or through the power of [elemental spirits].

If I could be any class I wish...

"Hey, Alexa. Is it possible to get a [class] that does not exist yet."

{The [System] generate new [Classes] practically everyday. If you wish to gain one that does not exist, you first need to have an idea of what you wish the template of the [class] to be.}

First off, do I want to be an Bender? It can be considered a caster technically. I know it is specifically stated in the show that it is not out right magic but going by they classifications within many of the books I read, it would be in this world, most [skills] are considered a form of magic even on none casters. But this does not already exist so if I pursue it, I would not be able to seek guidance or training of any kind, but it also means I would be the first, the first to have an entirely knew [class]...

"Ok, that's it, I will be a Bender. Where do I start?"

{Just put the work in and try to do the what the [class] does. If the [System] see you are putting the effort in, you will be rewarded.}

So, the decision on what I want to be in this world is done, now onto getting the [class]. That would mean trying to bend the element but asks the question which. Hmm... The first out would be airbending, despite how cool it would be the first airbender, it is way more limiting compared to the other elements. Yeah you can use it anywhere you can breath but this world is dangerous and I can't just puff air into a [monster's] face and there is no way I would be able to grow strong enough in time to create more powerful winds.

What about firebending, the first thing that comes to mind. Powerful and dangerous. You can generate it on your own without the need for it to already exist in the environment but that's it. Yeah there is lightning but only for the best of the best. Overall it lacks versatility, I may love fire like the next guy to the point of being called a pyromaniac but I'm also pragmatic. All I would be able to do was light things on fire or increase the temperature of objects. The last two elements, much more useful.

Earthbending, that's where it gets good, full of the power and might of the earth with terrain control and it also includes metal and lavabending. Quite useful. Can levitate rocks and launch them at foes or create walls to escape from enemies. Good to pummel your enemies with a strong force but if I ever have to join a party of some kind, I would rather be support rather than pure dps. That is were Waterbending shine.

Waterbending have the greatest versatility, from everything earthbending can do, using water or ice to harm enemies or use it as some kind crowd control but there are more use in utility during everyday life. Plus the three extra things it is known for, bloodbending which I would never be able to be strong enough to perform, plantbending which may possible long into the future, and finally healing. The last one is quite exciting since with so many dangers in this world from [monsters] to magic, being able to heal myself is a great boon.

So that's decided,

"I'm going to be a Waterbender!"

And with that declaration, it was joined with one from the [System] too.

Unlocked New [Quest]:

[Create a New Class]

Requirement(s): Gain a [Class] that is not currently known

Reward(s): 1 [Stat pt], 1 [Skill pt], and one piece of starter equipment

(All for said [Class])

----------------------------------------

So where to start?

Looking up information about water magic and [skills] did not helped much as waterbending would work much differently than that but it did give me a good idea what potential [skills] I could learn later since there is a lot of bleed over from different [classes], the same [skill] can work completely different from two different [classes]. One could be a complex arcane spell fueled by water mana or can simply be the an ability granted by a [spirit] while another can be an ice [skill] literally fueled by psionic energy of the person being cold and heartless.

Overall, I think I will have to just go to the basics.

Later that night while performing the chore of getting water from the nearby well for the tavern, I made sure to pour myself an extra bucket and placed it in my room. Once the place calmed down and most of the customers went home, I was let go and immediately went upstairs. Staring at the water I plan what to do next.

So in the show, I just need to move my hands like I'm pushing the water up. Ok

I slowly direct my hands, as moving fluidly to make the water slowly levitate up and form a small sphere... Nothing happening. I try again. And again. Again...

It is not working. I know it would not work right away but something feels off. Maybe I'm getting too ahead of myself. Let's try something more simple like creating wave, Ok lets begin.

I take a deep breath in and started to slowly move my hands forward and then back. As if I'm trying to push the water away from me and then pull it back. Keeping it at the rate of my deep breaths. Deeeep breath in mouth, flowing my hands towards my chest, Deeeep breath out my nose, pushing my hands away. All the while keeping my attention on the still water the whole time, concentrating at causing it to move.

I actually think this is working now. Well the water is not moving but this feels right, like something is clicking. That this is a great place to start. Soon I will be a true Waterbender. I can't wait.

I then proceed to be so focused on this practice that I quickly lost track of time and continued on with this late in the night.
