The feelings of pride and satisfaction for my accomplishments so far slowly turned to worried contemplation.

Wait... I met the goal I set for myself in this world, becoming a [Waterbender], so what do I do now?

My first thought was Should I pursue a career with this [class] and that led me to consider which jobs waterbending could be useful.

Is there is any jobs that manipulating water would be useful... I can think of a lot from working in plumbing or transportation on water like boats. Talking about boats, fishing is a possible choice.

After some time, a sudden unsettling realization came to me,

Can't anything I can do be replaced with magic and enchantments... Ugh, plus aren't there people with [classes] like [Plumbers], [Sailors], and [Fishers] who have experience and [skills] that allow them to ten times better than I ever could be?

Meh, I did not wanted to do any of that in the first place anyways but that still begs the question, what to do next?

Like I did before, I decided to talk to the most knowledgeable person I knew, Elizabeth, and asked her what she thought. She went on and on on one topic to the next about all the applicable careers that manipulating water and the other abilities of my [class] could be good with but also multiple [classes] I could pursue next that would synergize with it. I was starting to doze off until she mentioned something interesting.

"Why don't you ask [Madam] Rose, she is not just experienced as she lived a long life but she also have helped many with life changing decisions. That's the life of a [Tavern Owner], everyone coming to you with their problems."

I did not even considered this as an option in the first place, she was always kind of distant, always telling me to or about work and nothing else really, not considering she is also a little scary.

So I decided to talk to her the next day, in the morning when the tavern is empty and quite. When I came down from my room I saw her across the room going over some papers on one of the tables. I was about reconsider but decided to pull through.

I walked up to her table and said, "Umm, are you busy?"

She glanced up to me and in an annoyed tone, "Do I look busy."

"I ugh, um sorry I'll jus-"

"I was told that I could ask you a question" and then I told her about my [class] and I'm not so sure what to do next.

Her response, "[Adventurer]"

"What?"

"Adventuring, I think your [skills] best suit that career path and it may help with your obvious confidence issues."

"Isn't it, I don't know dangerous?"

"I would know that more than anyone. I was one in my youth. Hah," she laughed, "Oh those were the times but that's the point. Everything in this bizarre world is trying to get you killed, gaining experience makes it much harder to do so."

She continued, "One of the reasons I suggested it was because you got a good head on your shoulders. [Adventurers] that don't know their limits and take risks they can't handle don't last that long."

"Oh, but still..."

"There is this saying within this field of work, no risks, no reward. You should at least try it, it is a good way to earn cash and the beginning work is much like the work you do here. If you don't like it you can quit and pursue something else but if you like it you can get much stronger."

"But I don't think I can fight at all, is it not wise to join when I'm completely inexperienced?"

"It is not like I'm going to let you go as the weakling you are now, it would ruin my reputation."

"So?"

"So, I could use a break from this paperwork anyways." She placed her hands on the table and stood up from her seat. "Meet me in the back while I put these away and prepare for the worst workout you'll ever experience."

And it was the worst workout I ever experienced. The first thing she did was forced me to run nonstop for the whole until day until I unlock a [endurance] or like [stat] and if my body hurt too much, she told me to use [Soothing Water] to heal myself without stopping. After a grueling couple of hours I saw my saving grace.

I scream "Yeeessss!" and collapsed on the ground but I was filled with despaired when that only earnt me a twenty minute break and a jug of unusually warm water. I was so desperate for a cool drink that from staring at the water trying to imagine it was cold as the middle of winter and breathing so hard trying to get as much air in my lungs as possible, my breath started to become more and more visible and frost started to appear on the surface of the water. This sign of hope was quite peculiar but I could not think straight, all I wanted as cold water and I tried to force it as much as possible until the water turned out like it was pulled fresh out of the fridge. I quickly guzzled the drink down my throat but was pulled to reality once I noticed the second notification.

A [skill] that lets me freeze the water I'm controlling, I never thought it would be that easy. Well not that easy, that was hell and I have to do it again in a couple minutes. Maybe I could use it to cool my sweat.

Focusing on controlling small droplets of water on your moving body while you're trying not to faint from pure exhaustion is much harder than you think it is.

God, this is torture. Please let this get over with soon.
