Chapter 28 - Intruders and Kids

In the morning hours, three teenagers were walking on the road.

They were alert, talking to each other as they moved.

As the three teenagers strolled through the dense woods surrounding the Dark Archive, their black robes billowed behind them, symbolizing their affiliation with the Tower of Black Sun.

They were students of The Tower of the Black Sun.

"Do you think that there are magical creatures in this place?"

One of the students, a young woman with silver hair and a big nose but still attractive, asked her friends.

After a chuckle, one of the male students, who was a tall and handsome young man with hazel eyes, answered.

"I believe there is; the records show there are, and it would be bad if there were not."

The other young male student with short height and a smart look just nodded and said nothing.

Lost in their discussion, the trio's attention was suddenly drawn to a rustling sound nearby.

Their gazes turned in unison, locking onto the sight of a basic skeleton emerging from the shadows. The bony figure stood motionless, its yellowish eye sockets fixed on the intruders.

"A skeleton?"

The smart-looking student voiced his thoughts.

"It is highly irregular."

The young woman spoke and smiled.

A smirk formed on the face of the handsome student, confidence flickering in his eyes.

Without hesitation, he raised his hand and conjured a firebolt, a basic fire element spell that every student teaches after becoming an apprentice of the Tower of the Black Sun.

Different than the ordinary firebolt spell, it was black in color and known to others as Blackfire Bolt.

A basic blackfire bolt spell is the signature spell of The Tower of the Black Sun.

The firebolt collided with the skeletal figure, engulfing it.

The intense heat consumed the brittle bones, reducing the skeleton to a pile of charred remains.

The crackling of fire and the faint scent of burnt wood filled the air as the handsome teenager felt a surge of confidence.

"I understand why you want to destroy, but it seemed not aggressive to me..."

The smart young student said to his friend who cast the spell.

He felt nothing good about the encounter at all.

As the excitement subsided, The handsome student added

"Ezekiel, you always make such remarks. I think you wanted to destroy it yourself."

Ezekiel just shook his head and said nothing.

The young woman, on the other hand, just looked at the handsome student with adoration in her eyes.

It was clear she was attracted to tall, handsome young men, and it was not shocking.

Archvel's senses tingled with alarm as he felt the absence of one of his skeleton servants at the outer perimeters of the Dark Archive.

Setting down his coffee cup, he rose from his seat, his mind instantly shifting into a state of alertness.

"I am wondering who would dare to destroy a passive skeleton in the forest."

"From the tomes that I have learned, in the area of Dark Mages, the passive skeletons symbolize the fact that they are controlled and created by a necromancer or a dark mage."

"Destroying it basically means having a problem with the mage who created it."

Summoning his authority, Archvel issued a swift command to a group of ten to fifteen skeleton servants, directing them to investigate the area where the destruction had occurred.

The skeletal figures acknowledged his orders with a nod.

In just seconds, the group of skeletons dispersed into the surrounding woods, their bony frames moving silently and swiftly.

"I am not worried that much, but these three weeks passed without any incident, and having something to do and some action would be great for me.”

He knew that Dark Archive and its surrounding forest were not without their dangers, hidden as they were within the depths of the forest.

He also summoned two Skeleton Sentinels, and he did send two of them with the Servants; if additional power was needed, Sentinels would make short work of many mages and monsters as long as they were not that powerful.

“It would be great if I had a way to look from the eyes of my creations and understand what they have sensed in real time...”

His magical power and understanding of necromancy are not high enough to understand every experience skeletons went through.

If his level was high enough, he could hear from the location of the skeletons and see what they were seeing.

But at this point, he can only understand some simple things, and that was only for conjured skeleton sentinels, not the ones he created.

He can only sense the general location and existence of the skeleton servants.

Finally, after what felt like an eternity, the first of the skeletal servants returned,

Archvel's eyes locked onto the figure,

The skeletal servant approached,

As the skeleton drew closer, Archvel started feeling the information.

Yeah, he was feeling it.

"A fire element spell, it is more than likely that a mage, a weak one of that, destroyed it."

"I could not stay silent in this matter. But, right now, I don't want to waste my time trying to find out who destroyed my skeleton."

"Best, I can do is have more skeleton servants keep looking around and waiting for my target."

Gathering his remaining skeleton servants, Archvel prepared them and ordered them to keep their eyes open and search the area. Other than some guard servants, all the other forty skeletons were left to the Dark Archive.

As the skeletal army assembled under Archvel's command. He would not allow the trespassers to undermine the authority he had established, nor would he let them tarnish the legacy of the Dark Archive.

"I did not come into this world to be attacked or to be made into a joke."

"I will not let what others have done to me back on Earth be done here too.”

“That is the most important...”

Archvel thought and took a deep breath.

Two Days Later

-

Other than ten servants in the Dark Archive, five responsible for preparing tea and other things for Archvel and five for general guard, forty servants, with the help of two sentinels, kept looking for targets.

Two days later, they encountered what they were seeking.
