Chapter 21 - Death Tree

Archvel leaned forward,

"Jareth, considering the tensions between the Tower of Black Sun and Void Star, which organization would benefit the most from a battle or further problems arising between the two?"

Jareth's gaze shifted momentarily,

“I did not expect him to think about this...” Jareth thought and then answered.

"It's a complex situation, Archvel. Both organizations have their own interests and ambitions, and while a direct battle between them would undoubtedly lead to losses on both sides, there are factors to consider."

Archvel furrowed his brow,

"What factors are we talking about? Are there any specific gains or advantages that either organization would gain from such a conflict?"

Archvel knew from his own experience of “Earth” when two behemoths battled. There is always one that profits from such a conflict; it can be companies, countries, or individuals. There will always be a third party.

Jareth's eyes met Archvel's.

At that time, Jareth stopped for a second and then answered.

He took a moment to collect his thoughts before responding.

"There is an organization called Death Tree located in Obsidian Keep. Death Tree is a lesser-known organization, but their influence is increasing every day. They specialize in the intertwining of plant magic and death as well as death-plant hybrid creation, harnessing the powers of both life and death.”

Archvel's interest was piqued even further.

"So, how does Death Tree factor into the tension between Void Star and Tower of Black Sun? Are they aligned with either faction, or do they have their own agenda?"

"Death Tree has remained relatively neutral in the ongoing rivalry between Void Star and Tower of Black Sun. But it is a known fact that if either the Tower of Black Sun or Void Star gets weakened, they will be the first one to fill the void from such weakening."

Jareth thought more and continued.

“They would be trying to take resources, logistics, and relationships with other magic users. Organizations under the magic organization founded for profit would be the ones who would make the most profit.”

"As I said before, the organization is not as big as Tower of Black Sun or Void Star, but just below them when it comes to the number of mages in their organization, but they have more unusual spells and knowledge of magic, as it is not everyday, a concept such as “Plants and Botanics to be connected to Death.”

The narrative has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the infringement.

Archvel leaned back,

"If Tower of Black Sun and Void Star were to engage in a battle, Death Tree might see it as an opening to assert their own dominance and increase their control over the magical realm. Increasing its rank when it comes to the power of organizations"

Jareth nodded.

"Indeed, Archvel.”

Archvel nodded after hearing what he wanted to hear.

"Then it becomes even more crucial for us to find the truth behind Elliot Ken's murder. By uncovering the motives and the true culprit, we can prevent a potential clash that might inadvertently benefit Death Tree."

Jareth's gaze met Archvel's.

"So, I believe the reason you asked me this question is because you think that there is another organization that creates these problems, especially the murder of Elliot, to create problems between two organizations so that they arise from their conflicts."

Archvel clenched his fist, his resolve unwavering.

"Yes, precisely. From what you have told me, Death Tree is a smart organization. If they killed Elliot Ken using some sort of soul spell, or, as we talked about, "Soul Sickle," it is more than likely that they know Tower Of Black Sun will blame Void Star for it, and a conflict will arise. They will be benefiting from the battle between two organizations bigger than them and trying to get bigger." After hearing Archvel talk, Jareth could not help but comment.

"You are a monster, Archvel; you know that, right?"

Archvel just laughed and could not help but think.

"I am from Earth; magic and all these things may be new to me, but this kind of political behavior is not strange to me. In the end, humans are still same the same..."

-

A treehouse stood tall amidst a dense forest.

Inside the treehouse, a room enough for two people to live in comfort was built.

A large wooden desk stood against one wall.

Seated at the desk was a man with a long, flowing green beard,

He wore a robe of deep forest green,

"Archvel. He delves too deeply into matters that are not his to uncover. The death of Elliot Ken should remain hidden."

The name of the man was Taylian; he was the fourth elder of the Death Tree Organization.

As he was thinking by himself, two people entered his room.

Taylian, the green-bearded man, turned his gaze towards the two individuals who had entered his room.

"Rynn, Aeria,"

Taylian spoke.

"It is good for the two of you to be here."

Rynn and Aeria straightened their postures, their eyes fixated on Taylian, awaiting his instructions.

As members of the Death Tree Organization, the orders of the Elders have the utmost importance.

The structure of the Death Tree was simple but effective; Rynn and Areia were both members who were about to be agents.

"Archvel," he began, his voice carrying a weight that demanded attention.

"Our spies in Red Copper Town tell me that this man named Archvel is investigating the murder of Elliot…"

"We cannot let him uncover more secrets."

"Which means there is only one thing we can do."
