Chapter 26 - Skeleton Creation - Cleaning

Archvel sat down in the grand hall of the Dark Archive Temple. He took out a leather journal and a quill, ready to outline his plans.

The first item on his list was to clean and restore the temple, transforming it into a livable space for himself.

"So, let's make it."

He ventured into each room, armed with brooms, brushes, and water.

He swept away the layers of dust and cobwebs that had accumulated over the years.

Archvel felt great and happy.

“This place starts to look more like a proper ancient base than an old wrecked place.”

The grand hall once again radiated a dark aura, and he can feel it with ease.

"I should be awarded a cleaning award if there are any in this world."

Archvel commented as he smiled and looked around, proud of himself and his work.

He knew that he needed a space where he could focus on his mission without distractions.

With the temple now cleansed and revitalized,

He turned his attention to the vast collection of parchments he had discovered.

He knew that organizing them according to their content would be crucial for efficient access and protection.

He set up a dedicated area in one of the rooms, meticulously categorizing the parchments into different subjects and putting them into the cases.

"The cases are old but still usable; it seems like parchments and writings are protected by some kind of magic that I don't know."

"But I should not worry about these cases; in the end, I will be staying here for some time, and it should not be a problem to learn about these things."

His hands moved with care as he handled each fragile parchment.

He understood the value, and he wanted to be sure to dedicate time to learning more about these texts.

"I don't know why, but I am getting excited as I see these texts and knowledge."

But Archvel knew that knowledge alone wouldn't be enough to ensure his safety for the time being.

“I need to hide this place somehow...”

He turned his attention to the entrance, considering ways to conceal it.

He researched spells and enchantments that could create illusions or protective barriers.

Days turned into weeks as Archvel immersed himself in studying spells.

Focusing on stealth and hiding things from the other mages and other people.

He practiced diligently.

He created intricate warding sigils, carefully inscribing them in hidden corners of the temple to enhance its defenses.

Two Weeks Later

-

"It is good that these things do not take too much time to learn; they are so basic that even my status system does not recognize them as skills."

Did you know this text is from a different site? Read the official version to support the creator.

"I still feel my magic power increasing, however."

As he completed each task on his list, he was finding more reason to keep living.

He believed having a purpose maybe is one of the most important factors of having fun and the will to live.

For the time being, there was no danger from outside, so it seems like there will be no problem for the time being.

"I mean, I never heard that the path of magic was easy. It was the same as in the novels and books I had read when I was living on earth."

Archvel was in his chair, looking through some tomes, and felt that his magical power was coming to another bottleneck.

He felt that most likely, in about one to two days, he would be having another upgrade and level up.

He was happy about it, as he knew that as his power increased, he would have more freedom and security.

Two Days Later

-

Archvel was meditating on his magical energy as he opened his eyes, suddenly looking around himself with more depth and power.

"I leveled up!"

Archvel felt a surge of power coursing through his veins as he leveled up, his abilities as a necromancer growing stronger.

Although he didn't gain any new active skills, he could sense a significant improvement in his existing abilities.

His Conjure Skeleton ability, in particular, had received a significant upgrade.

Archvel turned his attention to one of the tomes he had discovered in the Dark Archive Temple.

The tome he chose was titled "Skeleton Creation," a comprehensive guide to creating and controlling skeletal minions.

With the tome in hand, Archvel made himself tea from the tea leaves he bought for himself back in town and then started reading.

The book detailed various rituals, incantations, and techniques for creating and commanding skeletons.

"This spell is different than my own Conjure Skeleton; this spell basically teaches and gives an understanding of real necromancy."

According to the tome itself, Skeleton Creation is an essential spell for a Necromancer."

"With the tome itself, after learning the spell, a necromancer can create a skeleton army, servants, and many other things using corpses and bones."

"Of course, with the help of the magic, the Skeleton Creation helps a lot when it comes to finding materials; according to the tome, I don't need a whole human skeleton for a fully fledged skeleton servant, but I only need some parts of it, such as the head and other important parts."

"As it was expected, skeleton servants are easy to create but lack combat power. I do not think that, for the time being, even Skeleton Warriors and Skeleton Archers are as strong as my Skeleton Summons that I directly summon via my Conjure Skeleton Ability."

"There are also more advanced applications of Skeleton Creation, such as creating Skeleton Dark Mages. Skeleton Guardians, Skeleton Titans, and, as expected, these things require different materials and different incantations, as well as more magical energy from myself.

“The power of the skeleton also has a direct correlation with the creator. More powerful the mage, more powerful the magic energy can be used to create, and the more energy used to create the skeleton, the more powerful it would be..."

He followed the instructions meticulously, practicing the rituals step by step.

With each attempt, Archvel could feel his connection to the realm of the dead growing stronger.

Skeletal forms materialized at his command, their bones rattling with an otherworldly resonance.

He studied their movements, adjusting his techniques to refine their obedience and coordination.

"About three days later, I should be able to start creating servants without any problem."

Archvel thought as he took a sip from his tea.
