“What lie are you talking about?” Isaac asked looking confused.
“Since you know that I know many things do you think I will believe what you said in front of the class?” Sam asked looking as composed as ever.
“Not everyone knows as much as you and why would you assume that I was lying, I just said what the principal said happened to me”
“Even he just came up with a conjecture about what happened based on what he saw” Isaac said as a matter of fact.
Sam thought for a moment and then nodded his head, with how mediocre this school was he could believe that they didn’t know what happened.
He also wasn’t sure, but from Isaac’s reaction he could say with full confidence that it wasn’t some Calamity level monster that cursed him, so he had to drop the issue off also.
“Well like I said in the dorm room I read a lot but not because I like it, eww!, but it was because I was forced, I am from a clan of scholars that I why I know all these”
“I know even if I tell you the name of the clan you haven’t heard of it”
“But it is called the Sapientium” Sam said without holding it back.
‘Grrrr’
“Did you hear that?” Isaac looked left and right confused.
He looked at Sam and asked the question.
“What?!” Sam asked equally confused.
“I must be mistaken I thought I heard a growling sound just now” Isaac said.
When Isaac heard the name of the clan he had a déjà vu of having heard of the clan and he felt repulsed of them for some weird reason.
“When do we go out for lunch, I am very hungry man?” Sam asked while holding his stomach.
“I think it should be anytime now, we have two general studies before lunch” Isaac said.
And just as he had said there was a bell sound and all the students rushed out to the dining hall.
They collected their meals before sitting down with friends.
Sam and Isaac also came in and looked for a table and sat down together.
Soon some other students came and sat down on the same table with them.
The leader in the group who looked like a gym rat asked “So how was it?” he was looking at Isaac.
“How was what?” Isaac asked confused, he then looked at his plate of food.
He was wondering if he was asking for how the meal tasted.
He even picked his spoon to taste the food and tell him about it.
“Not that, you inexperienced fool” the kid palmed his face.
“Ms. Valerie?” he asked.
“What happened to her?” Isaac asked worriedly, he had a very good impression of her, she saved his life.
The kid could only sigh and stood up and leave, he gave Isaac a final look of being an unfortunate idiot and a waste of space.
Sam burst out laughing as soon as they left.

“What is so funny? Is Ms. Valerie alright? She didn’t get hurt; did she?” Isaac was planning on standing up to go and check up on her.
“Hahaha, you can’t make this thing up” Sam almost fell down because of laughter, he was laughing so hard he had tears in his eyes.
“What is so funny?” Isaac was getting annoyed.
Sam signaled for Isaac to come closer, he then whispered something in his ears.
Isaac faced immediately turned red, he looked embarrassed to the core.
“Those rotten foolish and stupid kids, I don’t even remember what happened, all I know was that she was going to fall and I caught her and yet they are asking irrelevant questions with their dirty minds” Isaac said angrily.
Sam did not pay any sort of attention to Isaac’s rambling, he picked up his spoon and put it into his food, as soon as it touched his lip his expectant gaze immediately turned disappointed.
He forcefully swallowed what was in his mouth and shouted “What the hell is this? Are we in prison? Do they want to poison us or what?”
Isaac who had calmed down and started eating with relish looked at Sam not knowing what he was talking about.
“Sam don’t get us in trouble, you might think that this food is not good enough but most of us here are from the displacement camps and the food there is not half as good as this, don’t incur the publics anger” Isaac warned in a soft tone.
And just as Isaac has said all the students turned and looked at their table.
Sam swallowed the rest of profanities that were at the tip of his tongue.
He could only eat the food while drinking water after each spoon.
Soon they were done with lunch and it was time to return to class.
They then headed to the practice field because that was where their next class was.
They first headed to the locker and changed into training gears before heading there.
When they arrived they met Mr. Samson who was also dressed in training gear.
They greeted him politely and sat on the benches in the training ground.
As per usual Sam and Isaac sat at the back.
A kid at the front seat raised his hand to ask a question.
“Sir why do we need to train, shouldn’t we be trying to gain control of ours stars?” he was genuinely confused.
So were most of the students there, they didn’t see why it was a mandatory class if all they would be doing was casting magic spells.
Wouldn’t it be better for them use all their energy in learning how to control their stars.
“Instead of giving you a direct answer why don’t I make an analogy for you?” Samson said with a straight face.
All the kids were listening attentively, even Sam who usually like talking a lot was weirdly silent.
“I know you understand the category of potential by now” Samson asked and the kid who asked the question nodded.
“And you also know that those with higher potential have more energy in their stars than those whose potential are lower”
“So let me ask you this, if two people are fighting, one who has A grade potential and the other has C grade potential who do you think would win the fight?” Samson posed this question to the kid.
The kid thought for a second before saying proudly the one with the A grade potential.
“Why is that?” Samson asked another question.
“Because he has more chances of casting a spell” the kid answered.
“That is correct, so do you think that in a real life situation outside the school, you can just go; I am out of energy, so we are done with the battle?”
“Or do you think in the wilderness you can tell beasts and other monsters that you are out of energy; you all should take a rest until you regain your energy?” Samson asked again.
The kid awkwardly shook his head.
“Hence the need for combat, you can use it in between magic to not only Defend yourself but also to save the energy in your stars”
“Or do you think you can just be casting spells just for the sake of casting spells for attacks that could be dodged?”
“That would just be stupid and wasteful”
“I am not asking you to be a grandmaster in combat , just learn the skills that are necessary for your survival”
“I know that some of you would just learn the basics fast enough so that you could go back to learning to control your stars”
“The most important thing is to be able to control your stars without a hitch, but I would advice those without much potential to learn more combat because you need it more than the rest do, your energy finishes much faster so you can compensate for that with combat”
“Good now that we have cleared that out of the way let’s get down to business”
“For battling there are two basic movements”
“Attack and defense”
“Some people might add movement but I don’t think that is necessary because movement can be to said to be a hybrid of attack and defense”
“It is either you are moving to attack or you are moving to defend”
“What are the basics of these attack and defense one might ask”
“I would need a volunteer for this one”
None of the kids raised their hands because they knew that what came next would be the other getting bashed around like a drum, no one wanted to lose their face in front of a huge crowd.
“No volunteers?” Samson asked with a smile.
“Well let us pick the one with the weakest potential” Samson said flatly.
He then turned and looked at the rear end.
All the class turned to look at the person he was looking at.
It was none other than Isaac.
Isaac wanted to swear, they thought he was the one with the weakest potential.
“Well come on down, you need it the most Isaac” Samson said with a slight smile.
