I look at her baffled. She was one of the two cleaning up, and now she is out here and watched all of this?
“What do you mean?” I asked with a groan from the pain in my arm.
“Well Ares guild is one of the strongest and most influential in town. You fucked up with one of their members.” She clarified, gesturing to the lizard man on the ground.
“So what of it? Just spit out what you want to tell me.” I growl at her.
“Well you might as well join us, your reputation won't get any lower.” She chuckled, choosing to not clarify.
“Okay, first you kick me, now you're inviting me in?” I asked.
“Are you going to say no?” She looks at me waiting for a response.
“Well, if it gets me answers I might as well.” I sigh defeated. “Can you at least do something about my arm?”
“Nope, our healer can tho.” She turns around and heads inside without looking at me.
I sigh, this day went from bad to worse at every step. I walk back inside and my jaw drops at what I see. Somehow in that short time they completely restored the inside of the room. The broken chairs were replaced, tables all positioned, counter repaired. The walls look like they were never damaged to begin with. It looks like a giant fight didn't take place here anymore.
“How did you guys fix it this quickly?” I asked, baffled.
“Its one of the abilities, the building has here.” The tall lady said who is behind the bar now cleaning up bottles.
“Um, what are your names? I don't know how to refer to you guys.” I asked to see if I could get names.
“My name is, Monolith. Though most call me Mona.” The tall beast teal lady says
“My name is Pixel.” Says the cat-like lady “Before you ask I am a snow leopard. Don't call me kitty.”
“Well ahhh hope you guys didn't get the same treatment I did in getting a name. Mine is, ahhhh, Lost.” I said embarrassed.
“Well, come with me. I need you to come meet the master. Otherwise you won't be a part of us yet.” Pixel states
Then she heads into a side hall that I had not noticed before. This room is strange, the main entrance is big and open with groups of tables with chairs. Off to the side of the room on the left is the bar where mona is. To the far side of the room, a counter is placed and a kitchen is behind the wall, just visible behind the window. To the right seems a small hall is located which leads to a few rooms, and a set of stairs leading up to the second floor. The main room seems big, but it is not all there is to the building. The room itself has an interesting style, where it looks like an old tavern, but has an impressive amount of tech in the walls and tables have screens. I do see just inside the room and to the right is a big touch display where there are a few orders on it.
I walked past it all , looking around at the unique appeal of wood around tech, and got to the hallway where Pixel was waiting for me. When I get behind her she starts walking up the stairs. When we get to the top, what I thought were walls, are see through. The second story can look down into the main entrance, without being seen.
“Are you done gawking yet?” Pixel asked watching me looking at everything.
“Oh, right. Ah yes let's continue.” I say and follow her.
This story has been taken without authorization. Report any sightings.
I get led to a big door. Pixel knocks on the door. Nothing seems to happen for a bit of time before a bell rings on the other side. Following that sound Pixel opens the door to reveal inside is a desk, on which is a small bird like person, they are white, with blue glowing bits across them their black eyes displaying joy with the chocolate chip cookie they are happily munching on. They are very tiny, maybe not even a foot tall.
I had my attention pulled away from the adorable bird when the chair behind the desk turns around and sitting in the chair was this very beautiful tall lady looking mostly human, the most I have seen so far. Her hair was such a beautiful deep azure that captures the light, she has a few feathers sticking out in a tuff about three large blue feathers pointing behind her. Her gorgeous body, almost the definition of pristine. Silky smooth skin. There were a few animalistic parts to her from what I could see besides the feather, was the flame like flickering light in her eyes, her very long and sharp nails like talons.
“Well, welcome to the Phoenix guild. I am the guild master, Light Feather.” She says to me.
Her voice was soft, yet held authority. There was no questioning what she said.
“Ah, ya, um, hi.” I managed to get out.
“Well so, I heard that you already got into a tussle with an Ares member. Shame. Ares has quite a lot of influence.” She says, like she felt bad for me.
“Okay, hold on. What's so wrong with this? You're all here, yet you act like its a death sentence.” I snapped, getting frustrated.
“Well, that's because we are a gray guild. Not many members last here.” She says with a sigh of defeat.
“Gray guild? What's a gray guild?” I asked, wanting answers.
“Gray guilds have a surface side which deals with typical jobs. Tho we also have a side that deals on the wrong side of the rules, and in the underdark.” Pixel informs me on.
“Okay, and what does that have to do with members not lasting?” I demanded.
“Well you see, other guilds also deal with the dark side, and they do not like others encroaching on their turf. We don't usually have too many members, but we also usually only have quality members.” She says with a bit of confidence.
“Okay okay, hold on. Why should I be a part of here?” I asked. Wondering why they are acting like I am already a member somehow.
“Well you have made yourself wanted by the Ares guild. Check your status.” Light says.
I suddenly get a bad feeling about this. Pulling my good arm out and pulling up the display I get a big notification that I am wanted dead or alive by the Ares guild. So just like that I already have a price on my head.
“Okay, so I do have a bounty, but what does that have to do with me joining you?” I asked, now really wanting answers.
“Well, you join us, then Ares guild cant hunt you down in the open.” She says spreading her hands out gesturing around.
“So, joining you buys me some time before they try hunting me down?” I asked.
“Yes.” Light replies.
I guess I don’t have much of a choice. If I don’t join, I will be out in the city. With no home, job, or protection. Really seems I only have one option to save my skin, and they knew that before I even realized how much trouble I was in.
