Creation has expanded far and wide, worlds of imagination, magic, beasts, dragons, and gods. Have created countless stories of reincarnation, regressing, heroes, demon kings, villains, and wonderful people. Well not all stories last forever.
There is a place, in the center of creation, that is like the recycler of these worlds, and stories. It is called the Abyss. Any forgotten, or destroyed worlds usually end up here. Nothing usually ever comes out of this place. Though maybe through creations will power, or necessity, one small place has withstood The Abyss, for as long as it has the other was created. This place never got a name, but the residents call it The City.
The City sits on the edge of The Abyss, a safe haven for those lucky enough to escape from their doomed worlds, or stories. Most of the magic and powers end up recycled, and are recreated as talismans. These talismans can hold any power. Most look like a slip of paper with writing from the world which the powers came from, making it hard to know what most are. The oldest talismans which keep reappearing have been documented well, but new ones show up all the time. Talismans can usually be determined as markings, like tattoos, or glowing symbols. They usually reflect the color of which the talisman was written as.
Not all talismans are strong or convenient. Some can and are frequently curses. These curses are slightly different from talismans, they are written on dark paper, when others may come in a variety. Though, in worlds where they have not created paper, can be made out of wood carvings, these are much more rare. The rarest, is physical talismans. These are the rarest, and usually most powerful. These are objects, like bracelets, or rings. Creating objects of power.
Adventurers can explore to find these, or objects from lost worlds, by endearing the same between creation and The Abyss. This place is commonly referred to as The Underdark. There is another city by the entrance, but its more of a military camp.

Both cities hold a mix of natures from all the worlds that the people who live here are from. Cyberdistobias, medieval fantasies being among the most common and obvious features. The residences of The City can fool you. They are not ordinary. Some are reincarnated entities, gods who have lost their powers, creatures made up from a conglomeration of their worlds created. The one thing the city mostly lacks is humans. You won't find any here. There are some people who seem close, but don't be deceived. Most are anthropomorphic creatures, any who are not, usually end up dead. Though recognisable exceptions are centaurs.
Guilds, The City which is very massive, holds many guilds. Some hold and are responsible for entire sections of The City. These are not the law of the city though. There are upper rulers over the city, rumors are that these are some of the original people who founded the city itself. They hold control over what is known as The System. They also tell the guilds what they can or can't do, though that doesn't always stop them. They also operate the Guardsman, who are the designated protectors of the city from the creatures of The Abyss.
The System is integrated through the city, and the people. Each new survivor who arrives, gets this implanted in their arm. If you lose this you lose your identity in The City. It's possible to get a replacement, if you have enough money. The first is done by regulations.
Pray to whoever you want, but no god will save you in The City. This is the last chance, of Last chances. You either make it here and live longer, or die young trying.
