Luckily, I caught a root that was strong enough to let me hang on without breaking. I quickly latched on with both hands and screamed. I was hoping someone from the island would hear me, and I was very lucky, because I heard feet running towards me.

“Oh no! How did this happen?” I heard a voice say.

I saw a human hand reach down and I clasped onto it. They lifted me up, and they were human.

“Hello! Sorry about this, I know that I look human, but our tribe is actually made up of shapeshifters. So please do not mind if you see animals that can talk. My favorite form is a human, so I stay human. All shapeshifters stay in their favorite form. Also, we have two elders, so you will have to speak to them.” The shape shifter said.

“Ah, alright, I will speak with them. My name is Wynne and the spirit that is with me is called Davyn, who is my grandfather.” I said.

“Ah, my name is Flux. Nice to meet you Wynne. You are the first flier we have seen since the Alcyone Wings came.” Flux said.

“Is that the monster in the sky?” I asked.

“No, we call that one Arcturus Face. The one I am talking about is only wings and eyes.” Flux spoke with a lower tone.

“Ah, I am pretty sure that is why I am flying. It is a corrupt person who was punished from my village.” I said

“Oh, alright. But thank you very much for leading away Arcturus Face. The elders will probably be much kinder to you because of that.” Flux said.

“Well, lead the way!” I said.

Flux took us to the center of the island. The island looked beautiful, massive cliffs arose everywhere. with a beautiful waterfall that the path we were taking was next to. The cliffs were covered in moss and vines with blossoming flowers. The air smelled very fresh, and the mist felt amazing on my skin. Whenever there was a platform, there were a few cherry blossom trees with white mushrooms.

“Your island is gorgeous!” I exclaimed.

“Thank you! We are very majestic beings, which is why the gods gave us this island.” flux said.

We reached the top, where there was a shallow pool, and a massive palace surrounding it.

“How did we not see the castle?” I asked.

“Because of the fact that the shadow goes onto a part of the island that is not reachable to walkers, and it is built where you cannot see it when you walk up the trail.” Flux said.

We walked into the front doors, where there were multiple doors leading to different places. If I did not know that the island was so big and could fit such a big platform with such a big castle I wouldI would be shocked. Flux told me to go up until there was one door leading outside. So I walked up, until I saw the door. All around it were stained glass windows, and the door itself had multiple carvings. I walked through the doors, and saw two people sitting in two massive flowers that were bent in half to make a chair. They were wearing two different robes, one was bioluminescent and the other was natural light. They were creatures with three eyes, and the same nose and mouth as humans. The ears were pointed and small. The one with the darker robe had gray skin with lighter gray patches, the one with the lighter robe had white skin with creamy colored patches. The creatures opened their eyes at the same time, and their eye color was different. The one that was lighter had yellow eyes and the other one had purple eyes.

“Hello there human, I am Equulei and this is my counterpart Zenith. I am the embodiment of all of the good things in life. Zenith is the embodiment of all the bad things in life.” Equulei spoke, and it sounded almost smooth.

“What do you need?” Zenith said, whose voice sounded like a brick.

“I only need my cloak to be recharged, then I shall be off” I said.

“Ah, you are in a rush. Well Equulei can easily do that for you. I can have your spirit friend reach their maximum power.” Zenith said.

“Oh please do! I only have so much time, and really need to be off. The day is still here, so I should get going as soon as possible.” I said, grateful for their kindness.

They did what they said they would and I was ready to fly once more. I quickly headed back downstairs, a bit disappointed that my time at the beautiful palace was so short. But I decided that it was more important to save my mother than to stay here. So I went back outside, and was getting ready to take off, before Flux stopped me.

“Wynne! Before you go, can I quickly enhance your cloak? I can do it in front of you, but you will need to take it off.” Flux said.

I decided that it was a good idea and without hesitating took off the cloak, and Flux started using magic to make my cloak stronger. Instead of three diamonds on the back, there were six diamonds which meant I could fly for a day straight.

“Wow! Thank you!” I said, thankful that I trusted Flux.

“You're very welcome! Safe travels!” Flux said, while walking back inside.

I started to lift off, quite happy with my visit here.

“You should visit people like this again, they are very kind. I feel very refreshed.” Grandfather said.

“Ok, I will try.” I said.

Soon enough I was off and flying in the air, thankfully, the white fluffy clouds were back. I continued flying, very proud that I did not have to stop at every island. I could only do that, with islands I thought looked nice, once I got mother back. Which I was not even sure would work in the first place. I could only hope. As I flew through the beautiful blue sky with the sun, I wondered what was at the ground.

“Grandfather, what is on the ground?” I asked.

“Oh, no one knows. Every creature that can fly, has attempted to find out. All we somewhat know is that whatever is down there, kills whatever tries to get to it.” Grandfather said.

"Ah, alright. Just wondering." I said.
