The island looked the same as back at home, the trees were in the wrong places, so it was not home, but it looked very similar.
“Ah, I forgot to mention that there is only so many types of islands. There will be ones that look the same.” Grandfather said.
“So there is humans here?” I asked.
“Not necessarily, any dominating species can dominate any island. I highly doubt humans live here though. I don't hear any” Grandfather answered my question.
Grandfather was right, back at home, you could hear the children from anywhere on the island, but the forest here was dead silent.
“Well, lets see who is here!” I said.
We walked around the forest until we saw a treetop colony of… mushrooms? No, this was the dominating species.
“Grandfather do all the dominating species speak the same language?” I asked.
“Yes, they all speak the human language, as humans traveled everywhere back in the day, only some dominating species can fly, so humans would give transport to those that could not.” Grandfathers voice echoed, making some of the mushrooms notice us. Once one walked up, I got to see how they looked a little better. They had a mushroom hat, and a big round body. The mushroom was very large. They had three sparkly eyes, and a large mouth. Small feet and hands so they would have to wobble around. They were very short creatures, and except for their red with dots of white mushroom, they were a pastel green.
“Hello, human.” The mushroom said.
“Hello! My name is Wynne, this is my Grandfather Davyn!” I said.
“Please not so loud, we are very quiet creatures. My name is Sorynn, I will be your guide” Sorynn said.
“Oh, I do apologize. I am sorry to ask, but what is your dominating species name?” I asked, lowering my tone.
“ It is Syagrutith.” Sorynn said.
“Ah, do we have a place to stay here?” I asked.
“No, our colony is built solely for our people. But we can supply you with knowledge on how to stay safe in the woods.” Sorynn said.
“Its alright, I know how to stay safe, I come from an island similar to this.” I responded, a bit disappointed.
“Very well then, please choose a spot to stay that is close by, in case any darker ones find you” Sorynn said.

“We will, thank you for your kindness.” I said while walking away.
I walked back into the forest, and decided to make a rest stop in between four Bevra trees, the space in between all of the was large enough for a small camp. Thankfully, I still had a good sight of the Syagrutith colony in the trees. I took the food out of the messenger bag, and had to throw away a few things because they were no longer good, thankfully, most of the food I had could be preserved in any weather. I grabbed some vines, and quickly started threading the vines through each other to create a mesh trap to trap any predators. After I had set that up I went a little deeper into the woods and found some sticks and leaf’sto start a fire. I got back and started kindling a fire, it quickly rose and I started cooking.
“Grandfather.” I said. Then I waited a few minutes.
“Grandfather?” I asked, wondering why they were not responding.
The staff shuddered violently, and I quickly put out the fire and ran towards the colony in distress.
“Sorynn?” I yelled.
“Goodness me, what is wrong? You would not shout unless it is an emergency.” Sorynn said distastefully.
“It is. I asked for my grandfather and nothing happened, then the staff they are connected to started violently shaking.” I spoke quickly.
“Oh no. Davyn is fighting another spirit. Probably a dark one.” Sorynn said, quickly starting to panic. Then, the staff stopped shaking.
“Grandfather…?” I whispered.
“I am fine, it is ok, I beat it, I still have energy.” Grandfather muttered.
I quickly apologized to the colony and headed back. I rekindled the fire and started cooking again.
“I apologize for leaving, a dark entity would have caught you and I do not want that to happen” Grandfather said.
“I forgive you, at least I know what is going on next time.” I said.
Once the food had finished cooking, I ate it and watched the bright flames until they died out.Once the fire died out, I watched the stars until I fell into a deep, undisturbed sleep, listening to the familiar sounds of the forest. I woke up the next morning to a Helkin stuck in the trap.
“Oh no! I was not meant to trap you little guy!” I said as I quickly unraveled the mesh trap setting the Helkin free. It thanked me with a headbutt and went off on its way
.
“Time to fly!” I said, waking up grandfather. I packed up my things and headed to the colony.
“Good morning Wynne, safe travels.” Sorynn said when I got there.
“Thank you! Good bye!” I said.
“Good bye” Sorynn said.
I found my way around the trees and greeted the sky. Much to my dismay, the clouds were much darker than before. I could stay, but I did not know how much time until Mothers punishment was irreversible. So I jumped off. The cloak lifted me up, only to see something horrible facing me.Thunder, screeched across the wide open sky. Soon, the island was no longer visible, as a storm closed in.
“Grandfather?!” I shouted.
“Wynne, just fly, avoid lighting at all costs!” Grandfather yelled.
“Is there a way for me to see when lighting is coming?!” I yelled.
“Yes! Areas around you will start sparking when lighting is going to appear!” Grandfather shouted.
“Okay! I can do this!” I shouted.
I flew into the dark clouds, as there was no other way around. I came into another clearing, and I saw the clouds turning all sorts of colors when lighting appeared.I kept flying until a point in front of my face sparked, I turned my head to the right and saw lighting.
