Zero's Story
Dreams of the Past (2)

Dreams of the Past (2)

Third Person View

Zero looks at Luna for the first time. He feels that the person before him is much different from anyone he has seen. He feels so warm and free around her for some strange reason." My name is Zero. Could you please leave me be? I was relaxing here." Zero expects her to yell at him or hit him like anyone else. Still, instead, she gives him a warm smile, grabs his hand, pulls him up off the tree's base, and says, " Come on silly, why sit and relax where we can be free and have fun looking at how big this place is." She points out what looks like an endless field of white flowers. She says, " Don't you want to be free and have fun? If you don't have fun, then you aren't living." She holds her hand after letting go.

Zero looks at her hand, and for some reason, he does not hesitate and grabs her hands without a second thought. They have a fun time playing in the field of white flowers, and for the first time in Zero's life, you see a pure and innocent smile on his face as he plays with Luna in the field of white flowers. He continues to have fun playing with Luna until he realises he has to go home.

He wants to stay with Luna, and he realises for the first time he wants to stay with someone and deal with them." Sorry, but I have to go. I guess I will see you again maybe". Zero says hopefully, but this will probably be the last time he sees Luna. Luna looks at him with a bright smile and hugs him. " I am sure we will see each other again. After all, you are my first friend. We will see each other again soon".

For some reason, he believes her when he hears her say that. They part ways, and on his way home, Zero realises that he should not hope to see Luna again after all that would give him more pain in the end when he does not see her like he expects to. He gets home, and luckily, his father is sleeping with all the beers he has probably had. He is just knocked out on the couch. He heads up to his room and checks his backpack for homework. He instead sees a white flower in his bag and smiles. He finishes off any task he has and heads to bed.

Zero wakes up and heads to the bathroom first, and gets himself ready he tries to be quiet, so he does not wake up his father. He finishes in the bathroom and heads downstairs slowly. He takes a beer off the fridge and puts it on the stool near the couch so his father won't beat him later when he comes home. Zero heads out the door and walks to school again. He will probably never get on the bus. That place is a hellhole. School is a hellhole to him anyway, and sadly he has to go back to the hell he calls school. He hopes he will have an easy day at school today. He does not want to deal with the bullshit with the people there.

As usual, he walks into the halls, where people whisper and stare at him like he is a new animal in a zoo. Zero wishes he would not have to deal with this bullshit each time he is at school. Why not look at someone else? These people never change, and life is the same as always dark and lifeless like always. Zero goes into his first class, as always, math class, where he sees the same teacher from yesterday. Thankfully, he came on time this time, so he will not be talked to like yesterday. He does not want to talk to that old lady again. She has some problem with him for no reason, just like most people in this school.

Zero sees everyone come into the class. He is sitting at the back of the course, trying to ensure no one notices him. He thinks he sees someone familiar go into the class, and everyone in the room is not looking at that person.

She comes into the classroom at the front of the class. She says, " Hello, My name is Luna Ashwell. I just moved into town, and yesterday I met my best friend. " Then Luna looks at Zero in the back of the class, waves, and then shouts," Zero! We are in the same school. I missed you! It was fun playing with you yesterday." Zero is shocked. He is looking around for a camera because what are the chances that the person he wants to see is actually in the same school as him? He starts to feel nervous when all the other kids in the classroom look at him in shock.

Luna goes to the back of the classroom and sits beside Zero. She moves her desk to Zero's like other kids in class do when they want to be next to their friends." Hey Zero! I can't believe that we are in the same school together. This is going to be great!".

Luna has an excited expression on her face, and she grabs Zero's hand as they start to work on the math problems the teacher passed out on everyone's desk before they came into the room. Zero is still in shock and wonders why Luna is clinging to him like glue, but for some reason, he lets her do so. He does not know why, but when she is around him, he feels at peace and warm at the same time.

They continue the day together. Luna is the opposite of Zero, always cheerful and hopeful, and Zero is emotionless and gloomy, but for some reason, they get along as they have met before. Zero thinks that this is the only time he has ever had fun at school for once.

Zero and Luna are now talking to each other at lunch, and Luna is feeding Zero like he is a baby. Everyone else looks at them like they can not believe what is happening. Zero can feel what they are feeling right now because he is still processing that Luna is here and, for some reason, is sticking to him like glue. I mean, someone has had to tell her about him.

"Luna, umm, I have a question. Why are you hanging out with me? Most people don't like me because of my father and because I get into fights." Luna looks at Zero like he is crazy and pats his head, and says, " Well, I did hear some sluts and bitches talk about you trying to get you away from me but don't worry, they won't bother us anymore in face some boys said that you were a freak so I taught them a lesson." Luna has a sweet smile as she says that, but Zero has a chill down his spine for some reason. Well, now he knows that Zero is crazy and very clingy.

Zero hears sirens and sees the three boys from yesterday being carried by a couple of medics. They are on a stretcher, and he sees their legs all covered in blood and their arms covered in blood. While this is happening, Luna pats his head and stares at him while everyone else looks at what has happened with horror and shock." You see, Zero, I will be by your side, and no one will bother us!" Luna says with a happy smile on her face.

Zero looks at Luna in shock and asks, " But why would you do this for me? We just met yesterday." Luna looks at Zero with an unreadable smile " Because your darkness is so lovely and welcoming. I can see your suffering, and I am so used to people wanting to use me for their own game and the make themselves happy. You are different from the rest of them. You only look at me with hope with nothing in return, and I will give you everything, especially to that darkness that is different than anyone else's ." Zero is hugged from behind by Luna, and if anyone else could see her, she has a crazed smile while hugging him. Well, Zero knows one thing his life just got more interesting.

Zero also sees the principal talking to the math teacher, and the math teacher is crying. She storms off and leaves while the principal yells never to return. With all this chaos just from meeting Luna, he wonders how Luna did this. The Most Surprising thing is that he is okay with all this, and he feels hope in his heart and hope for the future. All this time, Luna was his light in this dark world. How bright will this light be, and how long will it last?
