Third Person View
Zero and the two ladies are in the wagon. It looks like an old-time wagon. It has a fabric roof with two long benches and fabric separating the driver and the passengers riding in the wagon. Zero looks at the mayor who is sitting on the other bench, looking at them like they are beneath him. Zero, for some reason, does not like this guy. Oh, he sees why he does not like this guy it is because he is an asshole that thinks he is above anyone else. This reminds him of the people on earth that were in power. They always thought they were above anyone else like they get to decide who lives and who dies. Zero agreed that he probably should ask around the city and get some information on This mayor and the current situation because this bastard is probably up to something that is going to endanger them on their first job.
“So, Mayor, anything else on the goblin camp we are here to destroy, like, for example, how many and the camp's locations because this would be easier if we had some information on what we are dealing with,” Zero says with an emotionless expression. “Well, the goblin camp is at the south of the village in the forest about 10 miles deep in the forest. As for any more information, I don’t know. This is your job to do, not mine, so why should I help someone like you” The Mayor says with a smug smile with an arrogant tone.
“Well, Mayor, you should know if there is something other than goblins in that forest, then you would be responsible for our possible deaths. Also, you would be considered lying to the guild, which the guild will probably force you to give us more than what we were going to get for the job. You would probably die in the process or be on trial and sent to the capital, where your crime would be investigated,” Zero says with a smile on his face. He looks at the Mayor like he is a dead man walking because he knows this bastard probably has done something terrible in the past.
“Zero, how do you know what the guild does already? We have not even told you that yet. Hmm, yes, Zero is right. The guild punishes people by one taking 50 percent of all their assets if they give wrong information on a job and also sends them to the capital city where the royal family decides their fate. They are also investigated. Also, since Zero has at least four different types of magic, he is a major asset to the guild, which they would fight for, and since it is his first job. They made a mistake. They would probably want to kill whoever put him in danger because the guild barely has people with two types of magic. There is only one other S-rank adventurer with three types of magic, so Zero is significant to the guild since he has the potential to surpass all of them.” Jasmine explains while the mayor pales and looks at me in a new light.
Well, too bad for that bastard because he will not show this guy mercy in any way. Especially after he was treated like he was dirt, yeah, this guy is not getting any leeway, but to be honest, Zero was bullshitting when he was talking. He did not think he was really that important to the guild. Well, this was good to know since now he does not have to worry about the guild trying to betray him since they will probably give him what he wants.
“Well, I am so sorry, Mr. Zero, for my behavior. If I had known you were this important, I would have brought you our finest wagon to the village. I really hope you enjoy your stay and I will make sure to tell the inn that you will be coming in fact I will book the room for you and pay for it and dinner and breakfast as well will be paid for to say sorry, please enjoy your stay” The Mayor says with a fake and polite tone which anyone with a brain could tell he really did not mean it. Man, this guy really is a bootlicker. I wonder how did this guy become Mayor.

The wagon finally reaches the village, and the Mayor gets off and is at the gate of the village where he is yelling at two men with spears and leather armor. Then as he is yelling at them, one of them runs into the town. The Mayor then walks up back to us as we get out of the wagon ourselves and says, “Well, Mr. Zero, I told the guard to book you a room as promised and the free dinner and breakfast. You can head out and do the job tomorrow morning as it is getting late. Please have a pleasant and relaxing night and enjoy your stay.” The Mayor says with another fake tone that really gets on his nerves.
Zero and the ladies start to walk into the town and he sees that a lot of people are looking at the mayor and trying to avoid him. Zero and the ladies follow the mayor who leads them to a two-story building that looks to have a lot of people going in and out all the time. “Well, there you are I hope you all enjoy your stay have a nice night” The Mayor leaves them and hurries off to another part of the town.
Zero and the ladies head inside the inn where they see an old man behind a bar. There are also many tables in the room and stools near the bar to sit at. Zero and the girls sit at the bar so they could talk to the old man.” Excuse me sir the Mayor said he booked us a room here. We also wanted some information on the Mayor and also the goblin camp that is in the south of the village.”
”The old man looks at them and smiles “ You must be from the guild well nice to meet you my name is Jim nice to meet you. The Mayor has already paid for your room so here is the key” He hands them a key which Zero puts in his pouch. Then Jim waves them over to get closer so no one can hear them and says “Now for the Mayor well he rules here with an iron fist he also takes a lot of the taxes of the town for himself and also the last person for wanted him not to be mayor well next day they were found dead. So people really stay clear of the Mayor and listen to him just to not get on his bad side.
Now as for the goblin camps, a lot of hunters in the village have died and some that have lived have said that one of the goblins in that camp is too big to be a goblin. Some say that it is not a goblin at all but it could be something stronger it sleeps in the giant cave in the forest that used to be a den for bears so whatever is in there killed that bear probably and a group of goblins would never mess with a bear.”
Zero looks at Jim with and smile and says “ Well you may not have to worry about the Mayor for long since he lied about the job and has not given the correct information on purpose well he will probably be sent to the capital and be killed for committing a crime. I would advise you to get any past evidence of his past deeds because he would be here for a long.”
As Zero says that Jim has a look of shock and a bright smile. Then he yells “ Everyone has one in the house!” Everyone in the inn cheers and grabs a pint of ale and enjoys it. Jim gives Zero a pat on the back and says “ Thank you young man you gave this old man hope in this town please stay safe in the forest tomorrow I would hate for you to die you seem like a nice young man” Zero nods and take a drink and the ladies also take a drink and have a nice time for a while downstairs until Jim leads them upstairs to a room.
He opens a door to a room with door number 7 and he opens the door and in the room, there is a table and a couple of chairs that looks like a little kitchen and in the room, there is also a tray of fruits and cheeses and also another tray with some roasted chicken and a barrel of ale also in the corner there is 3 buckets of water and some towels and rags the wash themselves off and two beds are in the room with a couch also on the side of the room as well.”Well, this is our best room so please enjoy also I made sure to bring your dinner to the room so enjoy. I wish you safe travels tomorrow” Jim leaves them to themselves. Zero, Jasmine, and Ashley all sit at the table and start to eat and drink together and then they head to bed since today has been a long day they head straight to sleep. Zero rests his head on the bed with Ashley and Jasmine by his side wondering what are they gonna have to face tomorrow as they head to sleep.
