Merchant and Blacksmiths

Merchant and Blacksmiths

Sam woke up early and sat down on his throne after a small breakfast. He wanted to check the city's stats and his reward points.

" I actually have 2.835 reward points to spend! 2000 points were earned by our group and donated and the twins donated all their points as well. The rest are the accumulated points the city and villages generated.

I thought about it yesterday, it would be great if we could transport the stones we prepare here in Blackstone city to the two villages. We could upgrade the buildings and walls and grow them to small cities!

I should look for blacksmiths first.

Low leveled ones like the one we have right now cost 10 reward points, but I need an experienced blacksmith to forge superior weapons and equipment! "

Sam looked through the menu. He thought for a few minutes and decided to obtain four blacksmith trainees for five points each.

This category only knew the basics and still needed to be teached by a more experienced blacksmith.

He bought two low leveled ones. He planned to send one to Oakhausen and let one stay in Blackstone city. This way Arthur could return to Woodchester.

Sam looked at the higher leveled blacksmiths but could only choose two different types.

( Castle Blacksmith:

A blacksmith experienced in crafting armor and weapons out of rare sorts of steel and monster materials.

Cost: 1000 points )

( Magic Blacksmith:

A blacksmith experienced in enchanting created equipment. Is able to use the same materials as the Castle Blacksmith.

Cost: 5000 points )

" I should really buy a Castle Blacksmith. This way we could equip ourselves with better equipment. 1000 points are a lot, but I think this will be a useful investment. That means 1.040 points for all of the blacksmiths, that leaves me with 1.795 points."

Seven figures appeared in the hall in front of Sam. At the forefront stood a big bald guy with a naked upper body. He was around 30-35 years old and held a big steel hammer.

Sam instructed the other six blacksmiths, sending one trainee to Oakhausen and Woodchester each. Two trainees and one experienced blacksmith stayed in Blackstone to help the castle blacksmith.

The castle blacksmith stepped forward.

" My name is Lance, do you have a place for me to work at? And what do you want me to do?"

I will give you these three to help you with your work, right now we need better armor and weapons for our soldiers. You should open a shop and sell your goods as well. I will come over later and show you some materials I obtained."

Sam asked Kain over and told him to show Lance the smithy Arthur had worked at until now.

He looked through the menu again after they had left the hall. He invested 200 points for 40 hunter trainees which could be trained by the hunters of their city. He told them where to go and instructed Linda to organize houses for all of the newcomers to live in.

" I will save the remaining 1.595 for now. I most likely have to spend a few of them to buy food in the future!"

Sam stood up and left the keep to visit the new merchant but before he left he took the lizardmen scales and Minotaur horns and stored them inside his backpack.

He arrived at the merchants store a hour later.

" Hello, my name is Sam and I'm the king of this city. I want to have a talk with Orkan." Sam explained to an employee who welcomed him.

The employee bowed down and left to get his boss.

A few moments later the merchant appeared. He was a short chubby man wearing expensive clothes and jewelry. He bowed to Sam and introduced himself.

" My name is Orkan and I am the owner of this buisness. How can I help you, your majesty?"

" First of all, please call me Sam. I have come here today to get some information from you, regarding the surroundings of our Blackstone city. What have you seen?"

" I have only explored the south from here. I have seen three cities. The nearest is Whitewall, a city ruled by the Knights of Valor and Queen Silvie. I have entered this city and the citizens seem to be treated kindly. It is a walk of around eight hours away from here. Southwest from Whitewall is Tomorrowland, which I never entered. I passed the city's fields and talked to their farmers. They told me about a group of talented fighters, archers and mages, who conquered the city and gave the surrounding villagers a save place to live. Tomorrowland is actually the biggest city I have seen in the last few weeks. The fields surrounding the city are also enormous, so I think there must be a lot of people living there.

I don't know what the last city is called and I didn't dare to get near it. I saw human corpses who were hung on the dark walls and orcs, as well as more terrifying creatures roaming the walls. I immediately turned around and ran back after knowing it is a monster city. This place is at least 14 hours walk away from here.

I can't tell you much more except for that I am planning a journey to Whitewall and Tomorrowland, in hope of finding partners to trade and built connections with. I already posted a quest in the adventurers guild. I am looking for at least five adventurers to protect us on our journey.

The outskirts of the cities are mostly cleared but in other areas a lot of monsters are still lurking and some of them have even built camps or villages."

" I am really thankful for your informations. They are extremely useful to me. We will see us again, soon. I have to go now, if you need something you can come visit me in the keep."

Sam had most of the informations he needed. He couldn't ask Orkan if they were players or not, so he concluded this himself.

' I am sure the people who established Tomorrowland are players. I mean that is the same name as this famous festival right? I think the other city could be NPC's but I can't be sure of this.'

Sam kept thinking about this on his way to the new blacksmith. He had taken the smithy Arthur had used before and had already started working. Nissa had informed Arthur that he could return to Woodchester and organized two carriages to bring the blacksmiths to the villages.

" Hello Lance, did you settle in? If you need something, just let me know. "

" Hello Sam, for the things I am doing right now the tools are enough, but I might need a better furnace in the future. The steel you are mining is pretty good, no special sort of steel, but the quality is more than average."

" That is good to hear!

Actually, I have found a few materials the last time I entered a dungeon, I wanted to know if you are able to craft something out of them."

Sam opened his backpack and took the scales and horns out. Orkans eyes sharpened as he received the materials.

" These are horns of a Minotaur and lizarmen scales right? The horns would be perfect for short swords. I am sure the materials will boost the attack massively!

These scales are enough for two sets of leg armor. Depending on the wearers size, two sets of upper body armor should be possible too. The armor is really light but extremely resilient. You have to know, that most of the armors which are made of scales are considered light, medium and heavy armor. You can find all sorts of knights, archers and even mages wearing scale armor. Lizard scales are the same, the armor I will craft can be used by every person, regardless of class or occupation."

Sam was happily surprised about these news. He ordered two normal sets of upper body armor and the two shortswords Orkan had talked about before he left the store.

He opened the guild menu and called Anna.

" Hey, I promised you to accept a quest together with you twins, how about we meet in front of the adventurers guild in one hour? "
