Training(3)

She was a little rude, but she must be doing that meditation pose for a reason.

I approached her with a smile on my face.

"Hey, isn't this weird that we suddenly got transported to this place?"

I tried to make small talk instead because I wanted to make a good impression.

She was silent with her eyes closed, showing no response.

'That's a little rude, but no matter what, I need to learn how to control this mana'.

"We suddenly got all these skills; it's like those webtoons and novels, haha".

She was still silent, which made me sure that she did not want to make small talk.

Well, at least she did not outright ignore me and walk past me like that girl.

I also tried to make small talk with the girl, but she always ignored me like it was a waste of time.

Honestly, that girl was more rude than this person.

But why are all these people so rude? At least Lee Min-ho, Kim Jihoon, and Kang Sangwoo were better in this aspect.

I looked at the girl who was doing the meditation pose on the ground.

Well, at least she didn't move, so she had to listen to me talk.

"I heard that in situations like this, it's better to team up with people who are capable.

So what do you think? Want to team up?".

She was still silent, and I was about to be a little annoyed.

"Why?" until she suddenly gave a response.

"Because teaming up with people will increase our chance of-"

"No, not that; what is your true reason?" She interrupted me and finally locked eyes with me.

"Because teaming up with people is beneficial for both parties".

She looked at me with no emotion.

"We both know that you are more than able to form a party with other people.

Why me of all people?"

I didn't like her character, so I wanted to see her a little flustered.

"Because you are the most beautiful girl here, and I felt attracted to you".

Well, her appearance was not that bad, but it would be a stretch to say that she was the most beautiful girl here.

And I really wasn't attracted to her; she was a little too rude for me.

But instead of seeing her flustered, I got a completely different response.

"Don't lie to me". She responded coldly her black eyes glowing a slight yellow hue.

How did she know I was lying? Or is she just not confident in her appearance?

I should probably tell the truth then.

"The truth is, I have a skill that gave me too much mana, but it also gave me no way of controlling it.

That's when my eyes, by chance, saw you, and I thought you would probably have a clue because you were in a meditation pose".

You might be reading a pirated copy. Look for the official release to support the author.

I tweaked the truth a little, but it probably wouldn't hurt.

"If you don't start telling the truth, then leave".

How did she know again? Does she have a skill that can tell if I lie?

"Ok, the truth is, I have a lot of mana, and I have no way to control it.

And I thought you would have an idea of how to control it".

"..."

"So can you teach me how to control my mana?".

She looked like she was lost in thought.

"How did you get so much mana?"

"Why should I tell you?"

"Well, get lost then". She closed her eyes.

'f*ck' I should probably tell her; I can just regress anyway.

"I got it from a potion".

I tried to be as discreet as possible. I did not want to give all the information right away.

She slowly opened her eyes.

"How did you get that potion when you haven't left the field yet?"

"How did you know I hadn't left the field yet?" I was shocked because she should have been meditating all this time.

And therefore, she shouldn't be able to know if I left the field.

Does her skill track each and every single person's position?

"I know now".

'Nevermind, I am just an idiot'

'F*ck it' I will tell her that I am a regressor, and if it doesn't work out, I will just regress.

"Ok, the truth is".

I told her how I got the potion from the south side of the forest.

I didn't completely tell her what my skill was.

Her face got more and more serious.

"It's hard to believe that you are a regressor, but somehow you are telling the truth". She sighed and stretched out on the grass, gazing up at the blue sky.

She suddenly started laughing while lying down on the grass.

And she stood halfway up and locked eyes with me.

"Hey, how many times have we had this conversation?"

"This is our second one".

Her eyes were glowing a yellow hue, and I had no idea what she was thinking of.

"And how many times have you regressed?"

"I don't know; it has definitely been more than 50 times".

She laughed like a madman again.

"Is it because this floor is impossible? Were we doomed to all die on this floor?

Was this just a fun play for the angels?".

I think I was starting to understand why she acted like that. She probably thought that all this was just for naught.

When I tried to see it from her point of view, it started to make a little sense.

Imagine a regressor telling you that he regressed 50+ times on floor 1.

You would definitely think that this floor was impossible to beat.

But there was also another possibility: that the regressor is f*cking stupid.

Yeah, most of my regressions really weren't needed, but I regressed just because I could.

There was no limit to my regressions anyway. With that in mind, I started explaining.

"No, you are misunderstanding; most of my regressions were because of circumstances".

"Circumstances?" She responded in a confused tone.

"Yeah, circumstances, like I didn't want to sleep, that I was hungry. Most of them were because of accidental injuries or deaths.

"So you sometimes regressed because you were sleepy?"

She still had a confused look on her face.

That probably sounded really stupid for her.

"No, because every time I regress, I don't get fatigued. And I can train immediately again".

"Couldn't you just play it safe and hide?"

"If I played it safe, or instead of fighting, I was hiding, I could probably clear this floor".

She again had the look of not understanding.

I looked down on the ground and started thinking of that time.

"Ok, the truth is, I made a promise to a person here that I couldn't keep.

Which is why I have been training to get strong enough, so I could one day keep that promise".

I clenched my fist so hard that it started to tremble.

A part of me didn't want to clear this floor without killing that wolf myself.

The wolf had to die for me to move on.

"And therefore, I don't want to clear this floor before I know that I have kept my promise".

"I see". She silently looked at me without inquiring further about the promise.

"So can you teach me how to control my mana?"

"If you bring me that mana potion, I will teach you".

"Why do you need the mana potion? If I regress wouldn't that be a little pointless?"

"I need mana to teach you how to control mana".

"What? So you have no idea how to control mana?". She surprised me with that answer. Then why was I doing all of this?

"Not yet; with my skill, if I get mana, I will know how to control it".

I really didn't have a choice but to trust her.

*****

I came back with the mana potion, and she was still doing the meditation pose.

"Here, I have your mana potion".

She took the potion out of my hands. She opened the potion and drank all the liquid.

She continued the meditation pose and, after 5 minutes, finally stopped.

"So what is the result? Can you control the mana?" I asked out of curiosity.

The dagger that was in my sheath started levitating out of it.

It soon reached her hands.

"Yeah, what do you think?"

I didn't know you could use mana to levitate things; that's like telekinesis.

"Are there other things you can do?"

She stood up and jumped 1-2 meters in the air. Which was impressive considering that she was still level 1.

That was higher than me, who had an average stat of 10.

"I can envelop a bodypart with mana to make it more powerful.

These are things that just felt natural, but there are probably more things you can do".

Just showing that was enough for me. I went on my knees and bowed.

"Please teach me!"
