My stats have increased by almost double, and I feel much stronger now.
Before I used my extra stat points, I could severely injure the wolf.
And now that I have added all my extra stat points, which have doubled my strength, that wolf will die no matter what.
The only problem with the wolf was that when it transformed, it would get faster and stronger.
However, it wasn't a whole lot faster and stronger, more like a 20% increase.
That 20% really affected me, as I was used to the wolf being weaker than that.
However, it still had the same fighting style.
The only problem was that I wasn't strong enough to fight it.
NowNow that my stats have almost doubled, the fight should be in my favor.
I felt so much strength in my body. I jumped as high as I could, and it felt like I was jumping on a trampoline.
It felt like I could jump around 3 meters, already reaching superhuman levels.
My muscles were filled with intense energy, but I still had to kill goblins.
I looked at the count of monsters.
[Clear Condition]
Kill 1000 monsters [174/1000].
There are still a lot of goblins left to get the wolf to spawn, so I should probably start now.
After walking for a while, I could feel monsters getting closer to me.
That's when I saw four goblins around the trees 200 meters away.
Because of my improved stats, my senses have also increased, making it easy for me to spot the monsters in the forest.
I tried to channel all my mana to my feet, and as I released it, I leaped towards them at incredible speed.
"Too fast!"
Bang!
I wasn't used to my newfound speed and crashed into a tree next to the goblins.
The tree shook as if a truck had hit it. Despite the high-speed impact, I was completely unharmed.
I stood up to dust the dirt off myself and looked at the goblins.
"My bad, haha."
The goblins were shocked as they took their spears and aimed them at me, throwing them simultaneously.
I saw the spears approaching me but I could only think,
'Slow.'
It was like I was watching the spears in slow motion.
I unsheathed my sword and effortlessly deflected all the spears.
I looked at the goblins to see that they had no weapons.
"Why did you throw your weapons? Now you have no chance to kill me.
Well, it doesn't matter if you don't have weapons; then, neither will I."
I dropped my sword on the ground and cracked my knuckles.
"Come, let's fight."
The goblins charged at me, and I dashed to kick one of them.
This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road. If you spot it on Amazon, please report it.
Thud!
The goblin was sent flying into a tree and was instantly killed.
It created a huge blood splatter like out of a horror movie.
"Oh my god, I didn't expect that amount of strength.
That was so brutal, and I feel a little bad."
The remaining goblins looked at me in horror, and I felt even worse.
"Don't worry; I won't do that to you guys."
I vanished from their view and reappeared with a sword in my hand.
With one swing, I decapitated all three goblins.
"I should probably use a sword from now on."
After killing enough goblins, I went to the field.
I made sure all the people had left the field, and now all I had to do was wait for the wolf to spawn.
"A sneak attack might work now."
So, I positioned myself where the portal would spawn and waited for a few minutes.
Following that, several announcements indicated that the portal would spawn.
Ripple!
The portal appeared, and I tried to be as silent as possible.
As the wolf stepped out of the portal, I used all my strength to swing at it from behind.
The wolf noticed at the last second and tried to dodge, but it was too late, and I made contact with its body, inflicting a deep wound.
Whimpering!
The wolf whimpered in pain as it dashed backward.
"Yes!"
It was the first time a sneak attack had worked, and I rushed at the wounded wolf, not giving it any pauses.
Instead of running away, it looked like the wolf would try to bite me with all its might.
As it lunged to bite, I dodged at the last second and cut one of its legs off.
Whimpering!
The wolf whimpered in pain again.
I didn't stop and rushed at it again, not letting it regenerate.
However, it transformed, becoming larger, faster, and stronger.
It dashed away, but I pursued it, not wanting to give it a chance to recover.
Because of its transformation, it got faster and blocked my sword with its fangs.
Clang!
We exchanged blows like this.
Clang!
Clang!
As we fought, I noticed the wolf's eyes, initially full of killing intent, slowly turning into fear.
It would be very hard to notice, but for me, who had fought the wolf multiple times, I knew immediately that it was because it couldn't fight back at all.
For the wolf, I was an opponent so strong that it seemed hopeless to fight against.
At the same time, I was reminded of Yon's death the first time I encountered the wolf.
'She must have been afraid too.'
I increased the grip on my sword, and my attacks became stronger and faster, slowly pushing the wolf back.
In the middle of the exchange, the wolf locked my sword with its fangs.
The wolf tried to claw me, but I kicked the wolf away to free my weapon.
The wolf quickly stabilized itself, but it was severely injured, missing one leg and covered in sword wounds.
In contrast, I hadn't sustained a single injury. All the attacks it could use, I already knew like the back of my hand.
The transformation was meant to make it more fearsome, but all I saw was an opponent that had already lost.
As I stared at the wolf, I felt a faint energy emerge.
"I guess this is it."
I knew what the wolf was doing; I had seen it many times before.
The deadly attack that took my left arm was not even a threat anymore.
I even learned to counterattack it when it used that move.
At first, it had been challenging, but now it was like muscle memory.
I recalled all my previous attempts, and the world seemed to slow down.
I gazed at the same blue sky that I had seen hundreds of times, and it hadn't changed in any regression.
However, I had changed drastically.
I looked at the wolf again, and as I did, it disappeared. This time, I could clearly see that it leaped at me with incredible speed.
At the same time, I sidestepped and swung my sword horizontally, targeting the flying wolf.
The wolf could only watch in horror as it approached my blade.
Cleave!
The wolf was split in half horizontally, unable to dodge.
Thud!
I looked down to see the wolf on the ground, motionless. It was funny that the once-powerful creature was now lifeless and defeated.
Simultaneously, a series of announcements appeared:
[Announcement: The special monster has been killed; new enemies will spawn.]
[Announcement: You have killed the special monster as the biggest contributor; please choose a reward.]
[Elixir of Endurance]
[Elixir of Agility]
[Elixir of Strength]
[Skill 'Wolf Dash[C]']
[Skill 'Regeneration[C]'].
A transparent window displaying five options floated in front of me.
I realized that the wolf was dead because of the announcements, but I didn't pay attention to the rewards.
The only thing on my mind was Yon, who had died at the hands of the wolf.
As long as I was here, that situation would never happen again.
With that thought, my mental stress from all these regressions slowly disappeared.
Thud!
I fell to the ground, free of worry, and finally looked at the rewards.
I didn't expect rewards for killing the wolf, but after being in this place for so long, a reward was truly welcome.
[Elixir of Endurance]
[Elixir of Agility]
[Elixir of Strength]
[Skill 'Wolf Dash[C]']
[Skill 'Regeneration[C]'].
The question was, which reward should I pick? I already knew that if I regressed, I would probably be able to get all the rewards.
But what if I couldn't?
Therefore, it was important to choose the correct ability. The elixir of strength, agility, and endurance probably gave me stats. But I could get that from leveling up.
But the skills were a little harder to get, as I had no idea how you could get 'wolf dash' as a skill.
You probably have to keep imbuing mana into your feet and dash. But how long would I have to do that to get that skill?
Regeneration was also not that important because if I got injured, I could just regress and get back to peak form.
Therefore, the choice was obvious, and I clicked on the reward in the status window.
