Village Hall, Neue Fiona Village
4:01:23 PM
They arrived in the place, crowded by several men. New faces came in and caught their attention. Justin and Hermes cautiously felt the tensions inside the building, sensing their unwelcomed aura. In one clap by Chief Zamor, everyone except the Village Hall receptionist turned around and returned to their routine as nothing happened casually.
A short brown hair with a flower clip around her left bangs, the receptionist graciously waved her hands. Her clothes had the same design as a secretary in a company but the difference was she was wearing a cap.
“Good Afternoon, welcome to Neue Fiona Village Hall, my name is Ilona, the receptionist of this place. Oooh… Chief Zamor, it is the first time to see you bringing visitors in this place. What made you lend your time to tour them by yourself?”
“Ilona, we could talk it privately later, just assist these two guest of mine, please.”
“Oh, my apologies, where are my manners? Welcome guests of Chief, hopefully, you won't commit such mischief. What kind of service can I lend to you?” said Ilona, lowering her head and waiting for their response. The young Don and Justin looked at each other and he decided to take the lead in the conversation.
“We would like to sign a paper for certification of ID as a valid guest in this place,” replied the young Don, with a regal manner which mistakenly presumed by the receptionist he was a son of a businessman with a high degree of education. But looking at his weird attire and the black mask he wore, she believed he might be a dangerous man with a low fashion sense.
“Mister... "
"Aljen, please kindly call me Aljen."
"I, I, I see. My apologies, you're request is a little broad. Do you have a passport or any kind of valid ID to show as proof for your true identities? A simple document to show as a valid verification in this nation. If not, unfortunately, we won’t let you qualified to be called as a tourist. No ID, no evidence, then no entry.” Ilona explained, showing as the board behind her. It showed the list of information of proper procedure of getting the valid ID, license, citizenship, and other kinds of stuff," said Ilona, reading the manual she picked up from her desk. She folded every page in an instant.
“Oh, I see your point. Legal documents will prove our identity for good reason. But we lost our documents when we sailed through the middle of the Midderean Sea for some unforeseen event. Do you have any kind of legal means to help us to gain access from this village?” begged Hermes, glaring.
“Apparently not. But I'll tell you everything about the basic rules of this village. First, Thou shall not kill anyone in here. Thou shall steal and covet your thy neighbors and last, thou shall not conduct anything suspicious action related to Mafia. Fail to comply and obey these three rules will result in instant execution. Or you'll be honorably deported in this place, free of charges and considered as outsiders as per the second option,” Ilona retorted, sarcastically.
This girl... she's not a typical receptionist. She's diligently trying to say something absurd. Damn, what should we do? The law of this place is too strict like Singapore in my past life. Everything must be in proper order and must obediently follow the rules and regulations regardless of who might you be.
“Ilona, you can let them have the Tourist ID.” Chief Zamor intrigued and drew out from his pocket, two folded papers with a seal of the Camelia family offered over her desk. She picked it up, removed the seal and read the papers.
“These papers? Are you sure, Chief? This is beyond our law?”
“Just sign it up, please. Listen up, these two lads of mine saved my twins. Do you even want these two saviors to be deported? You see, they are both merchants from another nation. If we did something bad with them, how can we show our sincerity to future tourists? Think first, Ilona. This is one of the great opportunities to boost tourism in our village.” Chief Zamor replied, insisting for her to sign it.
“But… But... It’s against our law and regulations. Do you want me to violate what states in our policy? Chief Zamor, do you understand what you want to happen. This is the first time you commit this kind of crime.”
“It is not a crime if no one knows.”
“What? Chief, you’re the Village Chief, you’re the one who makes this law to happen. If we violate it, what do you think the others would do then? They'll be going to sue you for this? Do you know what would happen if this crime leaked out from outside? They would revolt also.” She murmured as she looked at the papers.
“I told you, don’t worry about it. I can let you hug and kiss my twins whenever you want. Also, you can have a free ticket to take care of the kids by yourself. What do you think, give or take?” Chief Zamor whispered to her ears.
Wait, isn’t that bribery? Hey, hey, hey, you two must realize we also hear your conversation. Chief Zamor, she wouldn’t be able to convince easily like that, you know. Normal people would never allow themselves to take such simple and cheap bribe. Hermes thought when he eavesdropped their conversation.
However, her mood had changed, drooling her saliva while looking at the picture of the kids underneath her table. Her eyes stared at Chief Zamor and quickly signed the papers. She took a cough and sincerely called Hermes and Justin.
The narrative has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the infringement.
What? She took the bribe! Unbelievable! Hermes was surprised in the sudden change of the receptionist.
“Please sign these documents. You must make sure to fill up all the contents correctly without biased information. The payment of the papers cost of 5 Luzers but because it was honestly paid by our client, you may free to do what you please.”
Eh? The word ‘honestly’ seems out of my league. Did she change? Unbelievable! Is she normal? Just for the one day ticket of taking his twins, she seriously violates the law! I never heard such a thing about this kind of setting. Gosh, whatever. This girl is not what I think she is, a normal and straightforward woman, but a dishonest and pedophile!
But ―
“Damn, what should I name then?” Hermes murmured.
“I finish to fill out the paper, what should I do next, Ma’am?” Justin asked, showing the papers to Miss Ilona.
Huh? Justin, you’re done? But I’m not done yet! When Justin sensed Hermes stared at him, he thumbed up. He thought he was praised for his fast performance.
“You must put your sign in the part of Signature over Printed Name then used your thumb by magical ink of truth in this box.”
“Oooh, it’s too easy then.”
Suddenly, the paper lighted up in blue flames and it turned into a small ID card.
“Congratulations, Mr. Justin. We welcomed you as a tourist and special guest of our village. Have a nice trip and enjoy your vacation.” Ilona smiled at him making him feel disgusted.
“Aljen, you’re taking too long. Do you have any problems?” Chief Zamor worried about Hermes current state.
“Aaah, no, nope. I don’t have any problems here.” Hermes dropped a lot of sweat. What would he do and should be used then? The only blank left was his name.
“Boss, do you need help?”
“No, no, no need. I’m okay. I’m okay. I’m fine. Just reviewing my paper if I fill up all of it… correctly.” Hermes replied, wiping out the sweat from his face.
“Aah, remember sir. Please fill up the paper correctly. Just make sure you write the right information accordingly. Because if you write something not related to yourself, the paper will turn red indicating you’re lying to your identity. If it burned blue, a blue flame will appear.” Ilona said, giving a wink to his eyes.
What the heck, girl? You don’t have to tell me that. I know it that’s why I’m scared to write my name here. That’s why I’m taking too long to fill it up. If I put my name Hermes Archnemesis, it would lead me to my death flag so quick. Everyone in this village hates me so much. Hence, I can’t even write it here. And if I write my name in my previous world, can it be acceptable? Crap, what should I do? What should I do? Damn it, Stump G. You’re making my life harder than I expected.
“Oh, whatever. May my luck be with me!” Hermes wrote his name, Aljen, in the paper.
He followed the same procedure and felt nervous when he put his thumb mark inside the box of his paper. The paper burned in flames and the color became dark purple as it burning rapidly the paper. Everyone is surprised at what they witnessed.
Hermes didn’t expect that his ID to burn in a different color. This was the first time in his knowledge that it turned out too different from the setting of the game. His ID showed up and his name leaves blank.
“Eh? Ms. Ilona, my name is blank.” Hermes couldn’t believe what he saw.
“That was unexpected. This is our first time to see a violet flame and the ID’s name left blank. What could it be… Umm, we can replace it by repeating the same thing once again if you wish, Mr. Aljen.”
Crap, no more.
“Oh boy, I guess we don’t need to let Mr. Aljen replace his ID. The ID showed his status as a tourist and special guest so there is no need. We don’t need to repeat the process.” Chief Zamor said, interrupting her offer.
“... Eh? Umm... I guess so. Maybe, it is convenient to do, Chief. But according to our policy…. umm... I can just ask the manager about this after the break. Ahem, well then, Welcome to our Neue Fiona, Mr. Aljen. Hope you enjoy your visit and stay in this village. Thank you for coming in and using our service in this place. If you have anything to ask, just ask us and we will surely take care of it as soon as we can.” Ilona lowered her head in respect and waved her hand in goodbye.
Woah, that was close... That offer gave me a goosebump. I don’t want to do it again. If I redo the process, I don’t even know what would be the color of the flames. I’m definitely going to screw in that time.
“Well, we could go back now to my house now and have some tea.” Chief Zamor delighted as he went outside the Hall. He stretched his body from head to toe.
“Umm, Chief, we’d appreciate the offer but we might be going in a separate way.”
Chief Zamor surprised to his refusal, “Well, then, where do you guys going to? You don’t even know exactly this place.”
“Don’t worry. We can handle ourselves. You may return to your home or visit your companions in their room in the hospital. I mean clinic. So then, we’ll be going now. Thank you, Chief.” Hermes said his regards, waving his right hand while Justin lowered his head to show his thanks and turned around to follow his boss.
“Wait, Mr. Aljen and Mr. Justin!” Chief Zamor ran towards them. “Here, take this then.”
Chief Zamor offered them a two diamond seal. It had a symbol of the white wolf.
“What is this?” Aljen asked as he inspected the seal.
“That thing will help you to easily get through to any place of this village. The seal will represent you as a special person. Well, totally I was planning to tour you guys by myself but if you insist to explore it by yourselves, I won’t push myself too far.. So, I just gonna give you these two seals to make sure your safety. If you ever got lost in the town, just show it to the guards. They will surely help you without any second thoughts.”
“Oooh, that’s great. I don’t even need to try to sign up once again in the Village Hall then.”
“Hoho, you should be, Mr. Aljen. Oh if you don’t have any place to stay in, just don’t be shy to go to our place again. Our house is always open for you lads.” Chief Zamor said as he patted his shoulder.
“Boss, should we head out now? We should check this place then.”
“Aaah yeah. Good day, Chief Zamor.” He gave a wave when they separate from him.
“Goodbye, have a nice day you two. Enjoy the tour.”
