Wake Up As Mafia Boss Chapter 12

Fourth District, Neue Fiona Village

6:13:44 PM

Hermes hide from the corner, looking for the bandits who still chased his tail. He sighed of relief and slided down his body while leaning in the wall. He couldn’t believe he was able to escape from those bandits.

Did I lose them? Finally... Thank goodness.

“Damn, I’m almost shit my pants because of panic. I thought the village’s security system was stable but what I witnessed back then proved my hypothesis that it was still useless. Oh crap, I’m full of sweat. Gosh, those fools made me run like hell.” Hermes wiped his sweat from his face and his back with his handkerchief.

Now, where should I head to? I didn’t expect Justin not to appear to aid his boss. He pledged an oath whenever I was in danger, he would appear in a second and eliminated them all.

Hermes found a purple light in his eyes in the reflection of the broken bottle. When he stared at his own eyes, his eyelids turned black.

He spoke in a different language:

"Ira has been unlocked. Proceed to convert the souls into magic. Ira has been unlocked. Proceed to convert the souls into magic. Ira has been unlocked. Proceed to convert the souls into magic.

Forbidden curse: Wrath (Ira) has been acquired. Memory unlocked. The host will eliminate now the huma —"

Hermes held his hands and returned to his senses.

What’s going on? Wait, wait, wait, what did I just say? Aaagh, my head. Suddenly, a small detailed memory where black shadow kissed a child’s right hand while kneeling in front of him. He couldn’t hear the exact words coming out from the shadow but the stranger appeared happy. The hallucination he saw made him kneel down, removed his mask and puke.

What the heck is that? Hermes recovered from the pain, wiped out the fluids from his mouth. Whose memories was that? A kid and a shadow? Who the heck are they? Aaargh, my head spins a little bit. I guess this is part of the setting of this game. Yeah, I’m still in this game so I guess it is normal to experience this kind of bug.

“But — This is bad. It’s getting dark now. I should find someplace to take shelter. But… I don’t know where Justin right now. I think he is looking at me in the same spot I left before. Should I head back or should I proceed to my plan?” He murmured, thinking for a possible solution.

“Aaah, why this so hard to decide without anyone to talk with. Whatever, I should use a toss coin for a better way. If head I will go back to that place and if cross, I will going to find an inn and stay there for now; to create a new plan for my next move.” Before he tossed the coin, his stomach growled. The coin only flipped with a single spin and it dropped in the ground. The coin continued to roll and in the end, it results in Cross.

Sorry, Justin. I guess you and I will split this time. You better find me right now if you finish what you want to do. I know you have the ability to search for your master’s whereabouts. I trusted your instinct.

Walking alone in the street, he felt uneasy and terrified in the place. The vendors slowly closed their stores and the street lights had begun to light up one by one like a domino. He got chilled when the speaker began to horn. Everyone started to pack and returned to their homes.

Hermes felt cold in the place and decided to search an inn immediately. He only carried 20 Luzer coins on his pocket. Finally, he found the place he searching for. It looked normal like the games but the smell of the foods inside made him choose the place.

As he entered the inn, a beautiful waitress appeared in front of him. Her limed pony-tail hair almost reached its back while the other hair strain above her shoulder. She gave him a big smile, making him to blush.

“Good evening, sir. Welcome to Emorial Inn. My name is Daliah, the sole waitress of this place. May I humbly ask your purpose of your visit to this place, sir?” She said, giving a curtsy in front of him. As she looked at him, she was a little bit surprised at his appearance. His appearance terrified her.

The narrative has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

“Good evening too. May I speak to the owner of the place?” Hermes lowered his head venerably. He showed his ID in front of her.

“Umm, you're a new guest, aren't you? I assume. Are you a tourist? A trader? Or …. I’m sorry, “ She bowed down her head and spoke again.”Umm, forgive my rudeness, you just appear so weird but please forgive me if I think 'bout it. Anyways, we apologize but we won't accept anyone who doesn’t have -.”

Hermes drew out his ID and showed it to her.

“Once again, please forgive me.” She lowered her head. “Please follow me, sir.” She leads him to the reception table and introduced him to the owner.

I know you can’t imagine that a suspicious person appears in your place and asking for your manager to talk. If I’m in your place, I will react in the same way as you did earlier. This young man is wearing a mask and glasses; can be classified as a criminal hiding his own accord from an authority, likewise.

“Manager, we got a … new customer. He is a tourist according to his ID.” She said, showing his ID to the manager.

The manager was bald and looked curious at the ID of Hermes. He stared at the boy and he then examined the item.

“Mister, your name is blank. Sorry, but we don’t accept anyone who doesn’t possess anything valid.” The manager returned his ID. Hermes was surprised by what he heard.

“But… According to the ID, I’m a valid tourist in this place. Take a look, it is said, “Tourist”.” Hermes tried to negotiate about it but the manager refused to look at it.

“You need first to redo the procedure and paid for another ID. Sorry, sir. It has to be in a complete state.” The manager explained to give him a hint.

“Is there any way to get a room in this inn? Oooh yeah... wait a sec', what about this one then?” He showed him the item gave by the Chief Zamor earlier.

“Huh? Sorry, but we don’t accept anything like tha-- wa- wa-.. What? Where did you get this thing?” He grabbed the item from him and scanned it. He nodded that it was real.

“From the Village Chief. He gave me that in case I got a problem.” Hermes mocked replied towards the manager. He returned the item to Hermes and apologized to him.

“Seriously? Are you serious he did that? You’re kidding me. It can’t be.” The Manager’s expression gave Hermes an idea of how venerable the item Chief Zamor lend to him.

“Well, I’m telling the truth, mister.” He replied, smirking behind his fangs, Hermes knew he could manipulate the manager easily. “So, how much should I pay to stay in one night?”

The manager dropped a lot of sweat and replied, ”D-Don’t worry, sir. The service, the course, and the place are all in free charge!” he explicitly replied.

Seriously, he should keep his mouth shut. My face will be covered now by his saliva. Disgusting. Thank goodness, I am still wearing my mask.

Nonetheless, the manager asked his waitress to show to their guest the room and made him dinner afterward. She followed his order and proceed to the place, leading him to his room. A one bedroom place just for him. He was glad that he won’t even need to pay the rent for this day. He couldn’t believe the item he got from the Chief was super effective.

Fifth District

Inside the abandon white house.

Secret Underground tunnel.

“Sir, we failed to capture the kid. We lost contact with the group of Urorie. It appears someone helped the current Don of Archnemesis to escape earlier. Should we enter the next district to search for him?” the red-haired said, kneeling in respect.

The tunnel covered of mud and dirt, a red carpet in the center and a beautiful statue of a young woman dressed in gothic outfit behind the chair surrounded the room. An old woman carrying her shoulder bag unmasked herself. A lime haired handsome man with a mole under his left eye had shown. In one flick in his finger, his outfit changed into a white suit with trouser behind his waist. A red tie near his neck and white gloves in his arms. He neatly fixed his tie, humming in great pleasure. He cracked his fingers one by one and sat down in the noble black golden chair, cross-leg position.

“He has another one, never heard ‘bout that. Hmm… I didn’t expect him to be lucky so much. Just forget about the group of Urorie. They might be dead anyway. Hmmm… another servant? That’s impossible. Maybe just a stroke of mere luck? Naah, it's really impossible. Mmm…. Maybe the guards? Maybe…. There’s no way he has another servant to serve him. But gosh…. although we already trapped him, he managed to make a silly play during that time. Fufu~ oh boy…. That little boy is an interesting fellow. Saving me as a disguised old woman without any slight idea, he just opposed what a true evil Don must act. My biggest mistake was giving him an opportunity to escape when I had a chance to capture him. But looking at his desperate eyes, I just let it slide. Gosh, my bad. Mamma mia. His personality was too different from what I read from the reports. Did something make him changed? Maybe we’re still lack of exact details about his current status.” he murmured, rubbing his chin.

“Sir, what is your order then?”

“Leave him be….. We already got what we wanted earlier. Forget about him, he’s just a wimpy child after all. Without his servant, he is just nothing but a bug for us.” he took the glass of wine beside his chair, sipping it until it’s empty. He gently placed it back and seriously stared at the unconscious body of a butler laid down in the middle of the room.

“The day has come to make our lady rise from the top. The time for our family to retake what had been stolen from us." He raised his glass. "Glory to the Verdugo Family. Wu ha ha ha hah, wuh ha ha ha ha ha!”

“Long live, Lady Verdugo, Long live, Lady Verdugo! Long live, Lady Verdugo! Long live, Lady Verdugo, Long live, Lady Verdugo! Long live, Lady Verdugo!” Everyone yelled in unison, raising their hands in respect towards the statue.
