Vel, after waking up from her pleasant nap on an island in Skylin. Was greeted by warm sun rays and a lovely breeze. It was perfectly nice weather.
Does bad weather even exist here? Vel chuckled to herself. “It’s kinda nice here, and it’s possible that after some time I could peacefully live here. However, ending my journey after only two dimensions would be quite boring. So I’m going to continue forward, it’ll be more fun that way.” Vel was speaking her thoughts aloud. Vel ate some cooked meat. Then after preparing herself, she opened a portal.
“I wonder where you’ll take me.” She was once again filled with excitement. She leaps through and she is transported to somewhere she can’t see anything or perhaps there is nothing to see. She floats around for a short moment before she stops her uncontrolled movement with her magic. It’s completely pitch black there isn’t a sun or moon in sight. There also isn’t anything else, be it the ground or sky.
Suddenly, there is something, it seems to be the first thing to exist. It then combines and now there is something new. Vel gets an instinctual feeling to go upwards. As she watched from above a smaller sun was formed. Eventually, everything began to speed up, things began forming quickly. Then there were many things in the previously empty space.
I think I’m watching the birth of a universe. Thankfully, with magic I’m preventing myself from dying in the nothingness. While Vel watched the birth of a universe it seemed to go very quickly and not too long after, there were planets formed. Eventually one planet which seemed the most habitable began to create life. They were smaller than the planets Vel knew. She could not tell if she had been enlarged or if they were really that small. Vel used a spell to zoom into what was happening so she could see better.
Life on the planet was evolving at a rapid pace. She eventually saw humanoid beings which seemed to worship Vel as a celestial body. It was at this point Vel realized she was so engrossed in watching the birth of a universe that she forgot to move. She moved to get a better look only to realize that her moving caused a faction that she was now closer to, to start taking control. The faction had seen Vel’s movement towards them as a sign that they had the approval from the one they all worshiped.
Her action had changed the entire history of the world, as the now more advanced civilization was separated into classes based on birth. Those who descended from the faction where Vel had moved to were considered higher birth. While those descended from the faction Vel had moved away from were seen as lesser. Vel was witnessing the creation of societies in seemingly break neck speed. Soon there was an empire built upon a religion that worshiped Vel as its deity.
Vel’s nose began to feel itchy, she was going to sneeze. She had sneezed many times before so surely it wouldn’t amount to much. She sneezed and accidentally caused an extinction event on the planet because of a shockwave produced by her sneeze. Millions of humanoids perished in the event which ended up wiping out 80% of the population. It also changed the landscape of the world permanently.
Oops, I should probably continue moving on my journey. She opened a portal to leave behind the mass destruction she had caused.
I’ll have something interesting to talk to mom about, that I don’t believe she has experienced. However, knowing her she will enjoy listening no matter what happens on my journey.
She quickly left, however she noticed that as she went through her portal the exit portal was far bigger looking.
“So I had been enlarged by that dimension. I wonder if there are any worlds with permanent effects or if they will all be temporary.” Vel wondered, she then looked around the new world she was in. The world she was in now was more barren, like a wasteland. “I can see different layers of land so I don’t believe I’m on sky islands anymore. It’s like the opposite of Skylin, I wonder what this place’s residents will be like. The residents of Skylin were controlled by a cult. I wonder what this place is controlled by, if anything.” She wanders the barren wasteland before she spots a very ordinary looking house. In the middle of the wasteland. She sped towards it, but slowed down right before she reached the front.
She knocks on the door and a nervous man answers. The man looked like an ordinary older human. He then looks around Vel before calming down. “Young one what are you doing out there, it’s dangerous. You don’t seem to possess too much mana. I don't know how you’ve survived for this long. Come inside quickly.” The man ushers Vel inside, and closes the door after she enters. The interior of the house looks like a typical family home.
Oh yeah I forgot I’m suppressing my mana right now, it’s so instinctual I forgot that I was doing it. In order to prepare me for beings who read mana level mom trained me to suppress my mana. While I could never fully hide mine like mom could I got it down to a low mid level mage. Who knew it would be put to use so soon. Vel was reminiscing while listening to the man explain.
“You see as fellow low level demons we have to stick together, otherwise we’ll be crushed by the stronger demons.” The man explained.
“Oh, so this place’s residents are demons. I’m actually a traveler from another dimension, my name is Vel. I am in fact a human sorcerer and not a demon.” Vel attempted to clear away the misconception.
“Nice to meet you Vel, but I suggest you continue your journey elsewhere. I’ll house you until your mana comes back so you can leave. Here might is right, the strong order the weak around.”
“Actually I can leave at any time. I'm suppressing my mana right now.” Vel was a little shocked by the man’s reply. He showed compassion towards Vel despite being a demon. She had always read demons to be usually mean spirited and cruel. Though one could make decent deals with demons if one is smart enough.
“If you can leave I’d suggest you leave now, and hurry if possible. Though I don’t understand why you would purposefully suppress your mana to appear weaker than you truly are.” The man was confused. In demon society if you appeared weak you were belittled and tormented. Why anyone would go through that willingly was beyond him. “Do people not bully the weak where you are from?” He asked.
“While the weak follow the strong they aren’t without their freedoms and privileges. They help the strong in return for being protected. While of course there are those that torment the weak, the weak were not completely helpless.” Vel was reciting what she had heard Suzieen talk about, as she never lived a typical human life.
“I see, I hope you make it home safely, after you conclude your travels.” The man looked at Vel with a small warm smile. There was a small moment of familiar peace for Vel. However, suddenly a loud knock on the door interrupts the peace. The man opens the door only to be greeted by two strong looking demons. Their clothes were themed after the color green. The demons were siblings, one looked male and the other, female.
“How may I help you today?” The nervous man asked.
“You’ve been selected to work at Zelen’s factory.” The strong male demon said. The demon then spots Vel and checks her mana level and laughs. “Did you pick up a stray weakling because you felt bad. I swear I’ll never understand you weaklings.” The demon was belittling the weak demon.
Stolen from its rightful author, this tale is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.
“Hey, how does murder work here? Is it the strong that chooses what happens?” Vel calmly begins to walk over.
“That’s right, but what does that matter right now?” The nervous man was confused, but still answered Vel’s question.
“Okay good.” Vel said, as she manifested a wind blade.
“What do you think you're going to do with those measly little winds? I saw your mana level, it’s smaller than this fool’s.” The strong male demon laughed. However his laughter was cut short, as Vel had severed his head from his body. He was confused as he saw his vision become lower until his head hit the ground. The demon woman didn’t look concerned at her brother’s head. Vel then pierced through his heart. After the heart was destroyed the demon’s body faded into gas. While the sister was shocked by how quickly her brother was killed, Vel pierced her heart as well. Her body also dissipated into nothingness.
“I guess those two only had one heart each. Also it seems you destroy the heart in order to kill demons just like I’m used to doing.” Vel commented, after slaying the two like they were nothing.
“I would love to thank you, but the green primordial demon will surely send some minions over to check why they are not returning. Please leave now, I’ll bear the consequences, I don’t know your true mana level, but the green primordial is too dangerous.” The man was now slightly panicking, but attempting to remain calm.
“I’m afraid I’m going to have to pass, I’m going to go meet with this Zelen myself.” Vel replied.
“Why are you going so far for someone you only just met?” The man was very confused.
“Merely a whim, and you remind me of someone I know.” Vel smiles. “Do you know what direction the green primordial might be in?” Vel asks. However before she could get an answer a spear of wind came hurling at her. She catches the spear and throws it back, but the caster cancels the magic before it hits them.
“It seems you are the one who killed the siblings, it’s a shame really. They were good underlings, for that I’m going to kill you.” A woman flies closer to Vel. Her hair is predominantly blond with green highlights.
“Can you just take me to Zelen so I can challenge them.” Vel politely asks the woman.
“You wish to see master Zelen? Fine, I’m rather curious how someone with such a pitiful amount of mana killed the siblings.” The woman sighed and brought out a cigarette to smoke before leading Vel to where Zelen was. While they flew the woman told Vel. “If you fail then I’ll turn that demon’s life into living misery, if by some miracle you succeed I’ll stop harassing him.” The woman laid out a deal for Vel.
“I wasn’t planning on failing anyways.” Vel snarkily replied. Vel was feeling very confident.
“By the way how are you flying without your wings?” The woman asked.
“I’m human so I don’t have wings, to compensate I’m using wind magic to carry me.” She explained.
“A human using wind magic to fly, how intriguing. It’s a little bit of a shame that you’ll die to the master, but we already agreed on the deal.” The woman sighed.
The two eventually made it to a large castle filled with dolls. Before Vel was a giant door, and the woman knocked on the door. “It’s me Zelen, I’ve got an interesting human challenger.”
“You may enter.” A masculine voice replied. The demon woman opened the door for Vel to enter then closed it once Vel had gone through. Before Vel there was a person with a feminine looking face, but with a male body. They had a toned body, their skin was pale. Their eyes were gold colored and their wavy long hair was a dark green color.
“You aren’t what I pictured.” Vel said.
“My beauty was simply something I was born with. Just like my large mana pool, yet you seem to possess only a droplet of mana compared to me. Yet, you wish to challenge me, just try not to make it boring, human.” The man spoke with a dignified tone of voice, despite the arrogant words. Proceeded to use a wind slash to attempt to slice Vel in two. However, was shocked that his wind dissipated the moment it touched Vel.
“Sorry, but that weak little breeze ain’t gonna do shit to me.” Vel had spoken in a dignified tone to mock him.
“That was upper tier wind magic, yet you called it a breeze. This does not make sense, your mana level should make dissipating it impossible.” Zelen had begun to panic. Zelen attempted to fire a barrage of wind slices, but each of them dissipated upon contact. Vel yawned while being fired at by the barrage of wind slices.
“For being a primordial you sure are disappointing. Have you ever practiced magic in your life? Sure your mana pool is decent, but your refinement is terrible.” Vel shook her head with disappointment. “Allow me to demonstrate using only refined mid tier wind magic.” Vel produced a single wind slice and sent it at Zelen. Zelen attempted to stop it with a wind barrier, but the slice went right through Zelen’s torso. Splitting Zelen in half which caused Zelen to become confused. Zelen healed himself using magic but the pain was felt.
“If I had felt like it I could’ve destroyed your heart or hearts. But that would be boring, no? Surely, you must be the weakest of the primordial demons, otherwise this world will end up being boring.”
“We’re all equal in power, but I’m not the weakest. The blue, violet, and white primordials are weaker than me.” Zelen stammered. “Although, the black, red, and yellow primordials are older and actually train and study.”
“So there is some hope for this world then.” Vel lets out a sigh of relief. Vel launches small blasts of wind and turns Zelen into swiss cheese, purposefully avoiding where their hearts may be. “Take me to one of the stronger primordials if you want to live.” Vel calmly threatens Zelen.
“Fine, alright just don’t kill me.” Zelen sheepishly responds after healing himself. The demon woman from earlier opens the doors dumbfounded, that Vel had beaten her master so swiftly. Vel was then taken to a teleportation circle room. A magic circle was in the center of the room, once it was activated the trio disappeared.
They had been teleported to a room somewhere in the world. It was a peaceful lushful landscape, in the middle of the garden was a large round table with many seats.
“We have arrived at the primordial’s meeting place. I had my servant send word to the rest of the primordials. Although I cannot guarantee any will show up, I’ve always seen practice as pointless in the face of my natural talent.” Zelen attempted to toot their own horn. When suddenly a woman starts speaking.
“Still as egotistical as ever, you never change. I like that though, you gotta keep being you despite being one of the weakest primordials.” The woman remarked, with a little chuckle at the end. “Who’s your little friend with the low mana level? Have you moved on from dolls?” The woman who Vel could now see was not taking this seriously at all. The woman had short fiery hair and the same golden colored eyes as Zelen. Rather than be toned like Zelen she was noticeably muscular.
“This human, who defeated me, is looking to fight the primordials because it would be boring if we were all too weak.” Zelen with a defeated tone spoke, and quickly attempted to gloss over the detail of him losing.
“This human defeated you, how intriguing I’m rather curious to fight you myself after hearing that. While Zelen may be weak, his mana pool is very sizable, to be defeated by this human must mean something is different about them. Let’s take this over there, and oh you’re here Azul. I’d like you to make a barrier so as to not ruin the garden.” The red primordial demon was raring to go fight. When she saw the blue primordial arrive, who was shorter and had a more dainty appearance. Azul obliged and formed a barrier where Vel and the red primordial were standing. While the blue primordial wasn’t very strong in combat, her capability in defense was on a different level.
“Well introductions before a fight like this are a must, my name is Vel. I am an interdimensional traveler.”
“You’re absolutely right, I am Rosso. I am the red primordial demon, and now that I am standing across from you, I can absolutely feel that you are different. It’s not you’re mana but my instincts are telling me that you aren’t some feeble human. I’m sure this will be fun!” Rosso let out a battlecry before using enhancement magic to punch at Vel. Vel had to release her suppression of her mana a small amount in order to block it.
“You’re already much better than Zelen. How about we just do hand to hand combat, no ranged spells allowed?” Vel blood was pumping, she wanted to make this last.
“Did your mana just increase? Did you know about that, Zelen? Whatever, I’m down for a brawl, it'll be more fun that way.” Rosso was confused but she didn’t care. The two clashed magically enhanced fists which created a shockwave that would have disturbed the garden had the barrier not been there. Both Rosso and Vel had a smile on their face, burning with excitement.
