“Aaaaaaaaaah, ow. My head hurts.” Vel sat up, her head was pounding from all the alcohol yesterday. “So, this is a hangover,” Vel said, rubbing her temples. “Why couldn’t Mom add something to her blood to prevent hangovers? I think I’ll just relax and eat for today.” Vel sighed. She had woken up after passing out atop the temple’s entrance. She observed the fields around her to hunt for food. She saw a lion monster in the distance. She proceeded to manifest a wind spear in the air. She tightened the magic and narrowed the shape to make it into a wind javelin. The javelin flung from atop the temple through the head of the beast, instantly killing it. Vel steadily flew over to the beast’s corpse. She looked at it and floated it up with wind magic. She snapped and a flame appeared beneath it and rotated the meat above the flame. She then patiently waited for it to fully cook.
A wonderful aroma filled the air as it cooked over the open fire. After it had fully cooked, Vel dispersed the flame and used a light breeze to cool it down. Once it was ready she ate it bit by bit. She had a relaxing meal and took the day to recover from her hangover. The weather was nice so she could just relax and not worry about anything. The day passed uneventfully and the next day Vel was back and ready to continue her adventure.
“This place is a paradise. It's so nice and relaxing. However, I’m on an adventure. I want to experience something more interesting. I’m curious what the next world has in store for me.” Vel smiled as she looked at the morning sky. It was a beautiful red-orange color and the sun rose in the distance. Vel opened a portal to her next destination, and quickly headed through. On the other side of the portal was a town. The buildings looked like typical houses with two sloped sides connected at their peak roofs. They seemed a little more modern than what Vel was used to but didn’t seem out of the ordinary either.
“This place seems rather ordinary, perhaps my luck on getting places with excitement has run out.” Vel sighed. “Well, whatever, I might as well explore the world to see if there is anything interesting.” Vel did have a slight feeling that the world was affecting her body in some way and she was curious. Vel walked around and saw humanoid beings just living their lives. Vel noticed something rather odd about the people here. They were all textbook beautiful or handsome. Not a blemish or bit of acne on their body. Their skin was smoother than butter. Compared to the many different unique qualities of people Vel was used to at this point. These people were perfectly boring. They had different colors of hair and skin, but they all seemed cookie-cutter from one another. Their body types were all very similar and the children were well-behaved.
“Hello, I’m a traveler from far away. What’s it like living in this place?” Vel asked one of the people who was minding their own business. They were taking a simple stroll around their neighborhood.
“How rare, we usually don’t get visitors in this town. I welcome you to our humble town, Ms. Traveler.” The woman with a perfect pearly white smile. Vel returned a polite smile and the woman continued. “Here in our town no one ages, we all fulfill the role given to us by the gods. Although I assume it’s the same where you are from.” The woman smiled.
“Yeah, we all fulfill our role given to us by our gods.” Vel forced a smile and then parted ways from the woman. An ageless seemingly perfect world run by gods huh. I get the adults being fine with being ageless, but I can’t imagine the older kids not wanting to grow up. When I first came to this world I felt something was changing about my body. Perhaps it was slowing down my aging. I should be around twenty if I remember correctly. Not physically aging past that wouldn’t be too bad. Vel sat on a bench by a local park and just looked up at the sky. Vel let down her hair and let it be carried by the wind. Her brown hair was pristine and appeared well matienced. Vel did occasionally brush her hair, but she mostly used magic to maintain it. At the park, children were playing and having fun in the field. One of them fell while running and scraped their knee. However, instead of crying they just got up and the wound healed itself.
“Guess the gods have some measures in place to make sure their toys don’t break,” Vel commented after seeing the wound heal. Vel sees a picnic begin to form and she walks over. They invite her to stay for the whole thing. They bring out food from their baskets. Vel notices the food isn’t normal. There is a weird energy emitting from it that she can’t see. She shrugs and takes a bite of the sandwich. Immediately after swallowing a piece of the sandwich. Vel begins to feel something radiating throughout her body. Her head begins to become foggy and her thoughts aren’t clearly forming. Her body wasn't listening to her commands. Before the thing could overtake her she targeted her mana towards the thing that was fogging up her mind. She refused to submit to it. Her body was acting normal on the outside and eating the food. However, inside her mind, she was fighting whatever was trying to control her.
Once, her body had finished eating and she disrupted the attempt to control her body. Her body listened to her commands again and she got up and stretched. She noticed that her skin had become clearer. The secondary effect of the food went undetected as she was focusing on the hostile effect. Did eating the food cause my body to stop aging permanently? Just being here had its effects but the food had a much stronger effect. It also seemed to have some brainwashing effect to get rid of autonomy. I guess I’ve figured out why the older kids don’t want to grow up. It’s because they don’t have the free will to want to grow up. Color me surprised, I thought this was just a god’s plaything I didn’t think they would strip the mental freedoms of its citizens. Vel let out a slight chuckle, her luck had not run out for places of adventure.
“But now I’ve got to figure out what I want to do from here. Do I just leave, or do I attempt to mess with the gods for attempting to control me?” Vel pondered on her next course of action. Night fell and Vel just slept at a hotel that was free for anyone to use. When she awoke and left the hotel. She walked to the park once again. The same kids were playing. After some time passed, the picnic people arrived, and this time Vel just watched. They were having the exact same meal as last time. Vel looked at them and they simply just smiled at her. Vel went over to the area where she saw the woman taking a stroll. She saw the woman taking a break on a bench. The woman smiled and asked. “Hello there, are you new around here?” The woman didn’t seem to recognize Vel.
“Yeah, I was wondering is there a way to see the gods?” Vel said. The moment she had finished speaking. Vel’s surroundings changed, the neighborhood had been replaced by an extremely white room. White marble pillars and a glowing white floor in the massive room. Well, that was easier than I thought. Vel looked around the room when she turned around she saw three humanoid beings. They were sitting atop high-up white throne chairs.
“Traveler, why did you resist the gift from us gods? You would’ve been eternally happy and we would’ve had you fill the role of magician.” The gods spoke in unison. Their voices echoed throughout the throne room.
“My mother gave me the nickname of little bird,” Vel said.

“What?” The gods said, confused.
“I was born with an affinity for wind magic and interdimensional magic. She gave me the nickname as I was born to freely travel realities. There is no way I’d let you all take away my freedom to join your puppet show. Life without the freedom to choose and be yourself is meaningless. I’m going to have to pay you all back for attempting to stop me. I’ll go easy on you all, as you did stop my body from physically aging.” Vel smiled. She gathered up mana and a strong wind filled the gods’ throne room. The three gods jumped down and as they fell they merged into one being. Their power made the air tense however Vel had already begun her attack and the wind only grew stronger. They attempted to manifest a magic circle to launch an attack. However, Vel’s wind targeted the magic circle and pierced through it, shattering the magic circle and preventing their attack from forming. One hundred magic circles appeared behind them and the wind tore right through them all. Every single one of their attacks was being stopped as Vel’s mana was overpowering the god’s mana.
“It sure is nice to have someone else’s magic be blocked rather than my own,” Vel said, all smug to the god.
“To think a mere mortal dares interfere with a god’s power. Inexcusable!” The god roared. Vel felt the god’s power rise to levels far beyond what it was initially. Vel’s wind was dispersed and stopped by the sheer amount of mana oozing from the god. Vel felt something was off with the mana. It was unusual; it felt like there was something malicious behind the source. Vel was puzzled about how the god gained so much power so quickly.
“You must be confused as to why your wind stopped working. It’s because we are god and as god, we have the right to the life energy of all of the people of this world. It’s regrettable that we must start our paradise over again. However, if we leave you running around the other gods will not be pleased. We will be the final god you dare insult.” The god’s voice echoed. The walls of the room they were in folded outward and disappeared. Revealing they were in space the entire time.
The god grabbed at nothing and the space folded and sent a shockwave throughout the reality. They were going to use every measure they could to kill Vel. Vel formed a barrier around herself and dispersed the shockwave with a punch enhanced by dimensional mana. A gas giant planet came flying towards the god from behind Vel. She went right through and managed to resist the heavy amounts of gravity pressing down on her when the center surrounded her. Though it was only a moment it was a tremendous amount of force. Vel healed her bones which had cracked a little under the pressure. If she had not reinforced herself then she would’ve died then and there.
Other planets gathered and melded together with the space around the god and then merged with the god. The god’s appearance had transformed into a giant being with three heads, purplish white colored skin, a necklace made of planets, and a cape made of space. The god’s pupils were like mini galaxies. The appearance had become more distinctly feminine and terrifying. “We are Anakegaia the goddess of this reality. It has been a long time since we were in this form. Now are you ready for divine punishment, mortal?” The voice echoed throughout reality. Vel was like an ant in comparison to the giant three-headed goddess. Vel smiled in the face of the danger ahead, it was thrilling to fight against a god this powerful. Vel’s back hair glowed an amber color.
“If you are going to use your full power I might as well do the same,” Vel said. Although her voice didn’t reach the goddess. The goddess moved their hand towards Vel at a high speed. However, it was nowhere near fast enough to hit Vel. Vel simply landed atop the hand and quickly ran up the arm while pressing a blade of wind through the skin of the goddess. The blood flew out of the goddess’ arm. It was healed by the other hand soon after. Vel continued to run up the arm and make more wounds. Anakegaia healed the area where Vel was and Vel was hit by an enormous amount of mana from the healing mana. Which destabilized her body and caused her to bleed out from her ears and mouth. She stabilized her mana and continued upward, causing as much damage as she could. Once she made it to the Anakegaia’s face she launched a barrage of elemental magics. However, they weren’t damaging Anakegaia at all. Anakegaia just simply smirked at Vel’s futile attempt at an attack.
Shit normal elemental attacks aren’t working and being close is extremely dangerous. What should I do to kill this goddess? Can they even die? Vel pondered her next move trying to figure out a way to damage the goddess without getting too close, and doing enough damage that it can’t be quickly healed. After some thinking, Vel had an idea that she wanted to try, if her strongest magic is dimensional magic and she could infuse her fist with it. Then perhaps she could infuse it with other magic. Vel imagined a thousand javelins of wind and tightened the mana as much as she could. She then converted some mana into dimensional mana and infused that with the wind javelins. She melded and twisted the two manas together to form a stronger attack magic. She launched a barrage of javelins at the goddess. Anakegaia was still confident and didn’t think anything of the attack. However, that was a costly mistake, as the javelins went right through the goddess’ body. Opening many holes throughout the body of the goddess. Anakegaia used an astronomical amount of mana to heal themself. However, their body shrank to a fourth of the original size as a cost. They now had mana at a comparable level to Vel. Although the barrage of dimensionally infused wind javelins took its toll on Vel. She threw up blood from the aftershock of using a large amount of mana all at once.
The goddess which was now the size of a planet launched the planets that had once made up their necklace at Vel. Vel forced herself to move out of the way and the planets collided with each other causing a massive explosion and shockwave. The shockwave pushed Vel towards Anakegaia and they took advantage of that by grabbing Vel into their hand. They proceeded to try and overload Vel with healing mana. Vel’s blood was moving erratically inside of her body and was boiling her alive. Her skin was heating up and turning red. Vel gritted her teeth and exploded the tiny gap between her and the hand. Which singed her legs and torso a bit, but it did succeed at launching her out of the hand. She was bleeding from her eyes, ears, nose, and mouth. She re-stabilized her mana and healed her wounds. Vel strengthened her entire body with mana and launched herself towards Anakegaia. Vel made a spear using dimensional mana and stabbed Anakegaia with it. Once it was lodged inside of Anakegaia, Vel pushed more mana into it and expanded the spear. Which created a giant hole inside of the goddess’ body. The empty space left behind created a black hole which began to suck in everything.
Anakegaia snapped their fingers, and the surrounding area became an empty white area. They clicked their tongues and sighed. They were human-sized in this new space. Vel wasn’t sure what they were standing on, but they stood across from one another. Anakegaia rushed towards Vel and landed a gut punch. Vel responded with a punch to their liver and then their chin. After being knocked back Anakegaia returned with a punch to the face. Vel gritted her teeth and moved with the punch then kicked one of Anakegaia’s necks using the momentum from being punched by spinning around. Anakegaia was knocked down from that blow. Vel then followed it with a low kick with her opposite leg. Anakegaia got up and punched Vel’s face and Vel responded with one of her own. They traded punches to the face and blood came out each time a punch landed. Vel kicked Anakegaia in the gut and launched them away and Vel ran after them and was kicked in the gut after getting close. Vel was knocked onto her back, and Anakegaia went towards her and jumped above her. Before Anakegaia could land Vel jumped up with an uppercut to the gut. Vel then grabbed Anakegaia’s arms, brought them close, and used the momentum to knee them and destroy their ribs. While Anakegaia was barely standing, Vel used her hips and punched Anakegaia’s face with a full powered left hook. Which made all three heads clash with each other, and they went down. Vel could no longer sense life from them. However, she did not want to take any chances, so she kicked off all three of their heads at once.
Vel had delivered the final blow and laid down to rest. Her body was covered in bruises. She was tired and couldn’t move anymore. She smiled as she fell asleep after killing the corrupt goddess who controlled the reality she was in. Vel was happy with what she accomplished in this dimension.
