"So uhhh, mind if I asked your name?"
"I'm Alice, you?"
"Josh. So Alice mind telling why you look so familiar?"
'Shit!'
"I was an actor in a few ads prior."
"No I don't watch ads."
"Well I don't know any other reason."
"Eh"
I'm not sure what his class is but I'm not tough enough to ignore something that can run through a wooden fence which might aswell be a wall.
I'm not sure how he will react if he finds out that I'm a criminal.
"How did you manage to outrun the ants faster than two others?"
Better change the topic.
"Oh, I lied."
Heeh?
"Would you have helped me otherwise?"
Dam, I would have left him to die.
"And how did you speak so clearly whilst running on jagged breath?"
He looked up from the trucks motor and looked at me like I grew a new pair of hands.
"I didn't."
Our talk was interrupted by distant thunder. Both of us looked in the direction of the approaching clouds.
"We need to be gone before the rain washes away the gasoline. I will work on the truck you take from the store as much as possible. Remember water is a priority and after that liquorto keep the pick up running."
Then both of us got busy preparing for our leave.

----------------------------------------
I heald my breath as turned the key. The engine sprung to life however the motor was silent. I clenched my teeth and just when I was going to turn the key in the other direction, with a spark a flaming roar came from the vehicle.
I let out a small cheer as my skills as an mechanic don't seem too rotten.
Alice then also climbed into the other seat of the pick up truck.
"We have around 100l of water and 10 six packs of beer and everything else is canned food enough to host a party."
"Would have been better if we had more liquor but that should last us until we can restock."
A roof of clouds has already formed over us so it's only a matter of time until that black carpet that has been patiently waiting starts to move again.
I stepped on the gas and we rode into the opposite direction we came from.
"Are we in any hurry?"
"Yes actually. Those were wanderer ants."
"And?"
I sighed.
"They don't build nests or mark territories instead their Queen moves with the swarm only stopping to eat and lay eggs. And those ants hunted with intelligence so I don't want to know what for a monster they consider Queen."
"So what can we do?"
"Run and hope something burns them."
...
An awkward silence settled down on us.
"Hope you don't mind me asking what class you have."
"No its alright, I'm a Juggernaut."
"Juggernaut? Like being an immovable object?"
"Yes I also have the glutton passive which is a quite decent recovery skill."
"Well, I'm a lightning slasher."
"A rare class?"
"Yes, it's a blade dancer class which makes me great against anything slower than me."
"What did you even do to get an lightning based class?"
"Well when I was young I liked licking used battery's-
I started laughing.
-and I liked the the feeling after being shocked so I continued until I was 14!"
She also started laughing.
"14?"
I asked whilst stopping the truck from crashing.
"YES ,1 , 4, fourteen, you want it in french too?"
"You were a dumb kid, but I was dummer."
"Oh yeah what did you do?"
"I once ate glass-" "Glass?" "-yeah the shit they make windows from. Anyways apparently I decided that it looked at me funny and bit into it, I was 10."
"A fucking ten year old eating glass."
We both laughed.
After a while our laughter died down and just when I was gonna hit the gas again the smell of smoke came into my nose. I looked over to Alice who lighted herself a zigar.
"Want one?"
She offered me one from her pack.
Chesterfield.
"You know I think we're gonna get along just fine."
----------------------------------------
The rain should have erased our scent and its getting late. So we decided to call it a day.
Both me and Alice ate one can, didn't satisfy anyone's hunger but it'll keep us alive. We weren't that sparse with the water though, unlike hunger thirst isn't a warning but a need.
"You go to sleep, I'll stay up and keep guard."
She didn't oblige and instead merrily went to sleep on the truck seats.
'I wouldn't fit in there like that.'
I made her the offer so that I can check the last part of my class sheat.
