"Ocean Diamond?" Olivia repeated, her brow furrowing slightly.
"Yes, that's where you are. Welcome to the Ocean Diamond facility." The young lady told in a warm tone.
She paused for a moment, studying the expressions on Olivia and Kalvin's faces. "I see you both seem a bit confused. Let me explain a bit more."
The woman gestured around the room. "This is a medical quarantine ward within the Ocean Diamond complex. You were brought here after being rescued from the Bermuda Triangle."
Olivia and Kalvin exchanged a glance, their unease palpable. Kalvin spoke up, his voice laced with caution. "Rescued? From the Bermuda Triangle? Where are the rest of our team?"
The young woman's expression shifted slightly as she spoke, and Olivia noticed a hint of hesitation in her tone.
"Yes, um... you were rescued from the ship which was sinking after the bad storm you faced, and then brought here," she said, her gaze fixed on the pristine white bedsheet as if trying to avoid direct eye contact.
"And your friends are all okay," the woman continued, the warm smile returning to her face. "They are waiting in the dining room for you to join them."
Olivia and Kalvin exchanged another wary glance, their suspicions mounting.
"Are they all okay?" Olivia asked, her voice tinged with concern as she searched the woman's face for answers.
"Most of them," the doctor replied, handing Olivia the book she had been consulting earlier.
Olivia scanned the list, her heart beating fast as she read the names. "Clarence is dead," she murmured to Kalvin, her eyes still fixed on the page. As she read Carl's name on the survivor's list a reassuring smile brightened her face for a moment. Then he continued her reading.
"All our friends are well," Kalvin said, his tone betraying a hint of relief as he peered over Olivia's shoulder at the list.
"Grace and Erien have survived too," Olivia added, feeling a slight sense of doubt.
Kalvin let out a heavy sigh, why do those two have to survive? he thought although he knew it was an unfair thought.
"Why are we in quarantine?" Olivia asked the woman, her curiosity evident.
"It's a procedure to stop the spread of any disease you might have," the doctor answered.
"Wait, how long have we been unconscious?" Kalvin asked, the realization dawning on him.
"Two days and a few hours," the woman replied, her tone understanding.
"I know this is sounding crazy to you, but that's all I can say for now," she continued. "As long as you don't try to break our laws, you'll be fine here. I'll let Megan take you as soon as she arrives. She's the captain of your kind here."
"Our kind?" Kalvin asked, his brow furrowing in confusion.
The woman seemed to stumble over her words, struggling to explain when a knock at the door interrupted her.
As the doctor, Kara, opened the door, a young woman entered the room. From her appearance, Olivia could tell she was around their age as well.
The newcomer, who Kara addressed as Megan, took a quick glance at Kalvin and Olivia before turning to face the doctor.
"Are these the new people, Kara?" Megan asked, her tone commanding.
Olivia observed Megan's movements, trying to gauge the type of person she was. Megan had a grey eye colour, and her actions suggested a tough, military-like demeanour.
"Yes, these are the last ones," Kara replied, nodding towards Kalvin and Olivia.
"Are they all clear?" Megan asked, her gaze sweeping over Kalvin and Olivia in a judging manner.
"Not yet... wait a minute," Kara said, walking back to the drawer. She returned with what appeared to be two belts in her hand.

"Can you please stretch your arm forward?" Kara asked, directing the request to Kalvin.
Kalvin glanced at Olivia with a questioning look but complied with the request. Olivia watched the proceedings with a growing sense of unease, uncertain of what these mysterious bracelets or belts might be used for. As Kara secured the devices around Kalvin's wrist Olivia couldn't help but wonder what purpose they served and how they might be related to the "quarantine" they were currently under.
As Kara secured the device around Kalvin's wrist, Olivia watched intently, her curiosity piqued.
When Kara then approached Olivia, the young woman stretched out her arm, allowing the doctor to secure a similar device around her wrist.
"What's this for?" Olivia asked, her eyes fixed on the wristband.
"It's a tracker," Kara explained, her tone matter-of-fact.
"What?!" Kalvin exclaimed, his voice laced with surprise. He immediately began trying to remove the device from his arm.
"No, it'll hurt!" Kara shouted, but her warning came too late.
Olivia watched in trepidation as Kalvin's attempt to remove the tracker resulted in a sharp, painful sensation. Olivia could see the discomfort on his face. As Kalvin attempted to remove the tracker, a sharp, painful sensation shot through his arm, causing him to let out a sharp breath.
"Agh," the pained exhalation slipped through his lips as he winced, the discomfort evident on his face. Olivia watched with growing concern. She knew Kalvin didn't show his emotions easily, especially when he was hurt. She realized it must have caused a sharp pain in his hand as he immediately stopped trying to take off the tracker. Turning to Kara, Olivia's brow furrowed as she sought answers. "Why do we need to be tracked? What is this place, and why are we here?"
Kara's expression shifted ever so slightly, a hint of uncertainty creeping into her previously composed tone. "These are just standard procedures for new arrivals. It's to ensure your safety and the security of the facility."
Olivia and Kalvin exchanged a wary glance, their trust in Kara and the situation they found themselves in rapidly eroding. The doctor's explanation did little to allay their growing concerns. The pain radiating from Kalvin's arm only served to heighten their sense of vulnerability, reminding them that they were very much at the mercy of their captors, or whoever was in charge of this mysterious "Ocean Diamond" facility.
Kalvin's expression hardened as the pain subsided, his resolve evident in his tone. "Take it off. I don't want to be tracked," he said, his voice firm and commanding.
Kara's expression shifted with a hint of unease. "I'm afraid that's not possible under the law. I'm just a nurse," she replied, turning to Megan for support.
Megan, with her long blonde hair swaying, moved closer as Kara addressed her. "There weren't many people on this ship either. I guess they'll send more 'alcholes' to get people to do what they want," Kara explained, her voice low and conspiratorial.
Megan nodded, her gaze fixed on Kara."They don't listen to us. Those people don't have anything better to do than party and bed someone," she said, her tone laced with disappointment.
Kara's demeanour shifted, and she spoke in a more measured tone. "That's not the real problem. It's okay as long as they don't try to break the law. The people who do break the law will be taken to the lab for experiments, especially those with O-negative blood."
Olivia and Kalvin exchanged a worried glance, their hearts sinking at Kara's revelation.
Kara continued, "They' found that O-negative bone marrow is somehow effective in creating the treatment than other types."
The implications of Kara's words sent a chill down Olivia's spine. The idea of people being subjected to experiments, especially those with a specific blood type, was deeply unsettling. It's even more unsettling when you're O- too. Kalvin's jaw tightened, and Olivia could see the anger and concern etched on his face. This was clearly not the safe haven they had hoped for, and the threat of being "taken to the lab" for experimentation was a terrifying prospect. Olivia gently squeezed Kalvin's arm, silently conveying her understanding of his distress.
Kalvin's gaze met Olivia's, his voice lowered to a whisper. "Are you O-?" he asked, his eyes searching hers.
Olivia nodded, letting out a heavy breath. "Me too," Kalvin whispered back, his revelation surprising Olivia. They exchanged another heavy glance.
Their attention was drawn back to the conversation between Megan and Kara, who had lowered their voices.
"I'll do what I can, but it's been almost half a century since they found the treatment. Why are they still here? Haven't they killed enough people to get bone marrow?" Megan whispered, her tone laced with frustration.
Kara's response was equally hushed. " What's missing is not just bone marrow; it's cord blood stem cells."
Megan's expression darkened, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "It makes sense why they encourage people to party more and more now." As she said that her attention turned back to Olivia and Kalvin.
Megan turned to Kara, her expression businesslike. "Anyway, I'll leave with them now," she said, gesturing towards Olivia and Kalvin.
Kara nodded, then added, "By the way, they've agreed to spare Dave. He's a great scientist when it comes to nanotechnology."
A small smile played on Kara's lips as she shared the news.
Megan's expression softened slightly. "Oh, I'm glad to hear about your boyfriend. He better forget about that Octagon Verenda thing, or it'll cause him problems," she said, turning her head slightly towards Kara.
Kara let out a breath. "Hmm, I'll talk to him about that again. I'll catch up with you at lunch," she said, leaving.
"Guess another childbirth before lunch," Megan remarked, opening the door. At that moment Olivia saw the same type of tracking bracelet on Megan's left hand as she opened the door.
As the door opened, Olivia and Kalvin caught sight of a pregnant woman and her companion at the door. The man was rushing to get the woman to the bed whome he was carrying in his hands.
"Hurry her to the bed," Kara instructed, her tone authoritative.
"I'll send someone to help," Megan said, walking out with the confused Olivia and Kalvin.
Olivia and Kalvin exchanged a silent, unsettled look as they followed Megan, their minds racing with the disturbing implications of the conversation they had overheard. What on earth is the Ocean Diamond? What are those weird stuff they heard?
