Ocean Diamond-1

Ocean Diamond-1

Olivia felt a familiar sensation – her head was full, her eyes heavy. It was the familiar feeling of a seizure. With a sleepy feeling, she opened her eyes to an unfamiliar sight – a stark white wall. The wall was an unblemished, snow-white expanse, with nothing but a digital watch displaying the time: 8:00 AM. Olivia's curiosity began to rise as she took in her surroundings. She realized she was lying on a bed, covered by a soft, white bedsheet. This puzzled her, as she tried to piece together what had happened. Glancing around the room, she counted five beds in a row, and another five on the opposite side. It was a sterile, clinical environment, unlike anything she was accustomed to. Olivia's mind raced as she attempted to understand where she was and how she had ended up there. The last thing she remembered was the distortion in the communication with the Octagon Verenda mission control. Had she been rescued? Was this some kind of medical facility? A thousand questions swirled in her mind as she lay there, trying to regain her bearings. Olivia knew she needed to find answers, but for now, she was simply grateful to be alive and in a safe place, even if it was unfamiliar. Olivia sat up on the bed, looking around curiously. She noticed a cannula inserted into her hand, connected to a saline drip. Disconnecting the cannula, she took it off, her eyes scanning the room intently.

Doubts and questions were growing in her mind. Suddenly, she saw Kalvin sitting on a bed opposite row.

"Kalvin," she called out in a low voice. He turned his head towards her, a look of surprise on his face.

Olivia glanced around and realized that there was no one else in the room except her and Kalvin.

"Olivia," Kalvin responded, his voice equally surprised.

Olivia quickly jumped out of bed, trying to go to Kalvin as she saw him also trying to get rid of the cannula. That's when she realized she was dressed in a white hospital gown.

Confusion and concern etched on her face, Olivia moved towards Kalvin, her mind racing with the implications of their current situation. Where were they? How had they ended up here? And most importantly, what had happened to the rest of their team?

As Olivia hurried towards Kalvin, she noticed a box of plasters on a nearby table. She took one and quickly applied it to her hand, which was bleeding from the cannula.

Once she reached Kalvin, she saw the confusion etched on his face.

"Where are we?" he asked, his eyes darting around the room.

Kalvin stretched out his arm, Allowing Olivia to remove the cannula. "I have no idea, but this looks like some kind of hospital," she said placing the plaster below his wrist, her voice tinged with uncertainty.

"Where are the others?" Kalvin asked, his gaze sweeping the room, which was empty aside from the two of them.

"I don't know," Olivia replied, her brow furrowed with concern.

Kalvin stood up, looking around the unfamiliar surroundings. "Did Octagon Verenda save us?" he asked, a glimmer of hope in his voice.

"Then what's this place? I've never seen anything like it in the medical sector," Olivia said, her eyes scanning the stark, sterile environment.

"I don't remember a thing after Norman started to cough. Did we all pass out? Where are the others?" Kalvin asked his confusion and worry evident.

"This place is too clean," Kalvin remarked, staring at the pristine white walls.

Olivia reached for a table, where she noticed an open book. Flipping through the pages, her eyes landed on a single word: "Quarantine."

Kalvin, who had been trying to open the door, came over to Olivia. "The door is locked," he said, his gaze fixed on the book in Olivia's hands.

"Are we under quarantine?" Olivia asked, her voice laced with uncertainty.

"But why?" Kalvin questioned, his brow furrowing.

Olivia closed the book, her eyes falling on the cover. "Ocean Diamond...prison?" she read, her words tinged with confusion.

Kalvin's eyes narrowed, his expression mirroring Olivia's bewilderment. "What?" he uttered, the implications of their situation slowly dawning on them.

They stared at the book confused for a while.

"Prison?" Kalvin's voice was thick with wonder, the implications of that single word weighing heavily upon him.

Olivia's brow furrowed, fear creeping into her tone. "Where are we?" she asked, her gaze imploring Kalvin for answers.

Sensing the fear in her voice, Kalvin tried to project a sense of reassurance and confidence. "Let's get out of here, whatever it is, and find the others," he said, his voice resolute.

Olivia nodded, determination replacing the initial trepidation. Kalvin began searching the drawers of the nearby table, looking for something sharp to help them open the door.

"Here, would this help?" Olivia said, offering him a pair of scissors.

"It might," Kalvin replied, turning towards the door.

At that moment, the very door they had been trying to open swung open, and a young g girlin a white doctor's coat entered the room. She seemed momentarily surprised to see them up and about, but then her expression softened into a warm smile.

"Oh, you've discarded the cannula yourselves. I guess one of you must be a nurse or a doctor," the woman said, her tone friendly.

"Welcome to the Ocean Diamond!" she continued, her smile unwavering as she addressed the two young adults, who stared at her in surprise. Olivia and Kalvin exchanged a glance full of curiosity.

Kalvin whispered the unfamiliar name under his breath, his brow furrowed in puzzlement. "Ocean Diamond?" The words rolled off his tongue, laced with uncertainty.

Beside him, Olivia studied the young woman intently. She appeared to be in her early 20s, with a pointed nose. Olivia realized there was something unfamiliar about her appearance. She stared at her carefully. Yes! It was her eyes. She had violet eyes that were close to an electronic blue shade.Meanwhile Kalvin's mind raced, trying to piece together the puzzle. Where on earth was this "Ocean Diamond"? How had they ended up here, so far from the Bermuda Triangle? Was this some kind of organization, like the Octagon Verenda, formed in the years before the apocalypse? And what had happened to their friends and crew? Kalvin glanced at Olivia, sensing the same disquiet in her expression.
