Not far from the library was a lonely mountain with an altitude of more than three hundred meters. On it was built an archaic-style building with three entrances. Inside the building were three huge halls, surrounded by side chambers, which were used as living rooms.
This was the absolute center of the academy. The front hall and the nave were the places where the grand elder lived and worked respectively. The rear hall was where the elders of the academy and outstanding school masters were based. For safety, the elders with the highest power levels in the academy lived here for a longer time.
Those who could become the elders in the academy were generally those who had reached the gold level as conveyors or above. If the power base reached the platinum level, the conveyor could be regarded as an absolute powerhouse on the mainland.
Not only was the conveyor's power base strong, but also had powerful summoning power, and could summon sacred creatures as familiars. If the conveyor died, the essence crystal left behind were kept as relics by the academy.
Inside the grand elder's office, Shania was sitting in front of a large oak table, writing on a white scroll. Judging from her appearance, it was difficult to determine her age, but those who knew her were aware that she was in her thirties. She could easily claim to be in her twenties due to the grace of beauty and luxury.
She was busy writing when a soft knock on the door attracted her attention. She raised her head and said. "Come in."
As soon as the door opened, a middle-aged man walked in. The man stopped a few feet away from the table, and gave a slight bow to the woman. "Grandeur, mage Baldwin just arrived here."
"Hmm?" Shania raised her eyebrows and asked, "Do you know what's going on with him?"
"Not really, Grandeur." The man replied. "But four days ago, he came over here to go through the admission procedures for a branch student."
"Oh, I see." The grand elder nodded and asked. "Do you know who is enrolled?"
"An 8-year-old orphan, with a power level of sixty. From what I learned, he's also a light mage."
"Well, it seems that this child has good power value. I hope Baldwin can be influenced by these talented children and return to his previous state of mind sooner." The superior elder said, and stood up. She walked to the floor-to-ceiling window, and looked out at the scenery before her.

It was late autumn, and the leaves of the tree outside her window were almost shed. Only one leaf was still struggling in the autumn wind.
Shania's eyes fell on this leaf, and she sighed. Don't I feel like this leaf too? I have struggled in relationship with Baldwin all my life, but I always have a glimmer of hope. I just wish that this glimmer of hope can come to the ground like a seed, take root, blossom and bear fruit.
"Grandeur, there's more. After registering the child's name, Baldwin came back the next day, and went straight to the library. He's been there for three days now."
A strong wind blew against the tree outside, and the tenacious leaf was swept into the air, rolled around, and then smashed to the ground mercilessly.
Shania frowned, and her eyes finally retracted from the leaf. She turned and sat back on the chair, and muttered. "Could it be that his illness has returned again?"
After pondering for a moment, the grand elder raised her head and asked the man. "Elder Warren, do you know what elder Baldwin has been doing in the library for these three days?"
The mage replied respectfully. "He has been flipping through the books in the library for the past three days. It's as if he's looking for some information."
The female grand elder frowned deeply, pondered for a while, and then said. "Okay, thank you, elder Warren. If there is any new developments with him, kindly let me know."
"Yes, Grandeur." Elder Wang bowed respectfully. "If there is no further instructions, I'll take my leave."
Shania paced up and down the room, recalling the past from more than thirty years ago. She was now the grand elder of the Profound academy, but this position did not belong to her initially.
The grand elder's position of Profound academy had always been hereditary, and it had been in the family since the first grand elder, Murdock the Saint. During the time of Shania's father, he had only two daughters. One was the current grand elder, Shania, and the other was her twin sister Shannon.
Although they were twin sisters, the two sisters had different personalities. As the eldest sister, Shannon temperament had always been relatively calm. She was thoughtful when it came to things, and belonged to the category of people who liked to bury themselves in learning magical skills and practicing. So she could be regarded as an introvert..
While the younger sister Shania was a lively and lovely person who loved to talk and laugh with everybody. Every day in the academy, she acted as she saw fit. She even had a group of little boys who were often following behind her, seeing to her biddings. There was no girl's restraint on her at all. She had no interest in the academy's affairs.
Hence, the academy's inheritance rights were set to her elder sister Shannon, both in terms of age and ability.
In this regard, Shania was very happy and relaxed. She didn't have to worry about the affair of the academy. She would have time to play around with her mates every day, living infinitely free.
