3. A Familiar Face

After the second-born of the dragonkind reached the far forest with the three antherions, he quickly released his divine sense to perceive his surroundings for any movement or disturbance within a radius of one kilometer.

Discovering something, Harbonok suddenly descended from the sky and landed on a bushy grass beside a tree. He noticed several broken branches on the tree, and there were also scratch marks on the other trees, not far ahead. They looked fresh. There was even some slime oozing out of the scraped parts.

The path of the broken branch and scratch marks also indicated the direction of the escaping humans.

Hey, let's see where you're all going. Harbonok threw the broken branch in his hand away and shouted at the three antherions, "Follow me!"

The dragonborn arched his body, and he shot forward like an arrow. At the same time, his divine sense was concentrated in the direction he was going, constantly searching for footprints and other signs left by the fleeing humans.

Not far from the chase, he suddenly felt a slight fluctuation of essence power coming from somewhere at the front. "I found them."

"That's good news, your majesty."

"Yes, finally." Harbonok replied happily, and leaped into the sky, looking in one particular direction. There was no one in his visible sight, but there were trees blocking his views. He felt more certain that there was a slight fluctuation of powerful essence coming from that specific direction. Hmm, still want to run away? Not from me.

The Second-born of the dragonkind immediately gestured towards the antherions below, to follow the direction ahead, and he himself quickly flew in the direction of the essence fluctuations.

"We've been discovered." The anxious voice of Wynter suddenly came to their ears. "There is a big waterfall in front of you, on the left, go there. Maybe you can use the cover of the waterfall to escape them."

Faintly, Kiara could hear the roar of the waterfall, and a faint turbulent energy brought by the waterfall in the air. Hearing this, Kiara quickly directed her family. "Let's go to the waterfall. If we move along the fall, we won't be easily detected by the antherions!"

As soon as she finished speaking, she heard a dragon roar, not too far from her position followed by a burst of laughter.

"Hahaha. Little humans, let's see where you're going now."

They al looked back towards the sky, and saw someone, a human, chasing after them in midair. But the dark waves, surging all over his body, made it obvious he was an antherion with an extraordinary power base. They quickly intensified their escape to the waterfall.

"We've been discovered." Wynter uttered, thinking of stopping and fighting the antherions.

Suddenly, a bright light appeared in front of the dark forest, indicating they had already reached the waterfall. Everyone shouted, and suddenly accelerated their flight towards the waterfall.

"Do you still want to run from me?"

As soon as the voice sounded, everyone only felt a huge fluctuation of essence power suddenly coming from the direction of the light in front of them. A large dragon, formed from the essence of water, with a thickness of more than ten meters suddenly appeared in front of them.

If you spot this tale on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.

"Not good." Kiara and Wynter said in chorus, and immediately veered left and right, respectively, escaping the attack of the water dragon. But seeing this, the giant water dragon slanted its body, and its head and tail intersected in a ring, immediately encircling everyone.

Under the control of Harbonok's essence power, the colour of the huge water dragon condensed from the waterfall's water, turned into a pitch-black ink color.

"Humans, do you still want to escape from me, towards a waterfall?" Harbonok hovered high in the sky and said contemptuously to everyone. He was the second son of the black dragons. Water dragons were born with the ability to control water, same with fire dragons. Harbonok was a black dragon born with the ability to control both elements. Yet, the humans wanted to use water to escape from him? In Harbonok's view, it seemed like a big joke.

When Harbonok saw the humans fleeing towards the waterfall, it was as if he had arrived at his own realm, so he was no longer in a hurry. He motivated the water dragon to trap everyone in place, and slowly flew towards them, waiting for the bear antherions to arrive. To deal with these human beings by himself, was beneath him. Harbonok disdained the thought of it. He would let the lower level antherions with partial transformation deal with the humans.

When Kiara and Wynter saw this, they immediately released their essence power to act as shields against Harbonok's attack.

After Kaiya saw the appearance of the chasing antherion, he immediately trembled with apprehension. He shouted loudly. "Harbonok? Second Son of the dragon clan? So, it's you chasing us again. What grudges do you have with me that you're killing my clansmen over and over again?"

"Do we know each other, human?" Harbonok descended from the sky, and looked at Kaiya strangely, searching through his memory about this human face. The water dragon also gradually receded in the process of Harbonok's reasoning.

"Have you forgotten the incidents with the divine tree, many years ago?"

"Ooooh, so it was you!" Harbonok finally recognized Kaiya, and couldn't help but asked strangely. "I remembered you. I remembered killing your father, and then you exploded your soul ether against me. But why are you not dead?"

Kaiya couldn't help laughing bitterly. "Hahaha, dead? I can't die that easily. I want to live this cruel life and watch you die at the feet of my fellow human beings, in order to comfort the souls of my dead clansmen in the afterlife."

"Really? You want to watch me die? I'm afraid, you won't have that opportunity." Harbonok said. He raised his hand, and dozens of black shards immediately shot straight towards Kaiya and the rest. The last time, this forsaken human escaped from his own hands, Harbonok suddenly became very angry, and he no longer had the patience to wait for the three antherions to arrive.

"Patriarch, you must find a way to escape. I'll try to delay him as long as possible." A flash of light appeared in front of Wynter, and a huge shield, with a height of more than ten meters in size and a thickness of about three meters suddenly blocked everyone from the attack, completely isolating them from Harbonok.

The Giant Shield was the only defensive magic that Wynter knew. It could be big or small, and it could be varied. As soon as the giant shield was formed, a loud impacting sound like that of thunderous arrows could be heard crashing against the shield.

From the impact, Wynter felt his chest being hit a few times by a giant hammer, and a mouthful of blood streaked down the corner of his mouth.

"Patriarch, go. For the sake of your family, you must escape alive." Wynter saw Kaiya and the others wanting to come forward to support him, and immediately suppressed his injury and shouted anxiously.

At this time, there were hurried footsteps from the depths of the forest, as the chasing antherions arrived.

Yes, he must save his family. Kaiya looked at Kiara. "Let's go."

Kiara gritted her teeth, and took a last look at the Wynter, and pulled up Kaiya and Lin Ley, but before leaving, she did not forget to shout to Shesara. "Shesara, come with us."

As soon as the words sounded, dozens of earth spears suddenly burst up from the ground.

Poor Shesara, as soon as she lifted her foot, she was nailed to the spot by several earth spears. She didn't even uttered a single cry before her life essence disappeared.

"Shesara." Lynn suddenly shouted. There was darkness in front of his eyes, and tears flowed out of his eyes. Reaching out his hand, Lynn tried to rush forward to grab Shesara, but was held back firmly by his mother..

Kiara endured the grief of losing someone who could be regarded as her own daughter. She grabbed her husband and son with both hands, and flew towards the waterfall with all her might as several roars of bear antherions came from behind.
