Chapter 383

The words were out of my mouth before I realized what I had just said. Dane and I stared at each other with large eyes,

His gaze lowered down my body as his lips curled into a smile, “What!!” he exclaimed in excitement.

I rushed up to him. “Don’t be too happy yet… I haven’t checked yet, but I will check.”

Dane frowned, “Why are you wasting time here, common let us go and check.” He tried to take my hand and pull me inside but I yanked my hand out of his reach.

“Ermm…” I said as I looked for another lie to say, “Well, the thing is that I am nervous, Danc… I just want to stay here a while and gather some courage.”

“Nonsense,” Dane blurted out. “What courage do you speak of? I am here to give you all the courage you need, come with me.”

I shifted further away. How do I chase him away now… why is he so stubborn?

“No,” I snapped, feigning seriousness. ‘Dane, you need to understand that this is a sensitive issue for me, so I need to be calm before it can be done successfully.”

Gosh, what nonsense am I spewing?

Dane shifted back and looked at me, he moved closer and I backed away to the wall and he touched my neck.

“Are you feeling okay, Aurora?” he asked.

I frowned as I crossed my arms over my chest, “Don’t I look okay?”

Dane shrugged, “Well I don’t know, It’s just that you are saying so many things at once and I’m getting confused.”

I sighed and dropped my gaze. “Maybe it’s because I have a headache,” I said another lie. “Dane just go ahead, you will only make me more paranoid… I will get done with the test and I will come tell you the results.”

Dane nodded, “Fine.”

He turned to leave and I breathed a sigh of relief, but then he turned and rushed up to me as he took me off my feets into his

arms.

“Dane!” I screamed as I held my arms around his neck, I don’t want to fall. “Put me down.”

Dane smirked. “Fine, if you don’t want to listen, I will gladly carry you there in my arms.”

“Not fair,” I said as I rolled my eyes and I relaxed on his chest,

enjoying the comfort.

But this is not why I am here… I have really limited time to solve this mystery and set Warrick free from Alina’s claws.

I looked over Dane’s shoulder and I saw Miles walking towards us. I rolled my eyes.

If he had come a little bit earlier, then this drama would have been avoided.

I sank further towards Dane and I closed my eyes as he walked further inside.

“You should have told me you wanted me to carry you because you seem to enjoy it alot.”

I clicked my tongue and ignored him. He got to a ward and he dropped me slowly on a bed.

“Stay here, I will go get the doctor.”

I nodded and he left. I sighed and sat back up. I know I am not pregnant.

Now I have made this mistake and given Dane high hopes about it, how disappointed he will be when he finds out I have not yet taken in.

I clicked my tongue as I slammed my palm on my face. “I shouldn’t have… I should have at least taken a second thought before I said that.”

I stood and walked over to the window, pulling it open. A rush of fresh air, mingled with the earthy scent of green leaves, flooded

into the room.

I stood there for a while, letting the breeze hit my face, my hair shifting under the soft wind as I let my mind go blank.

Such a huge responsibility, with such limited time, I just don’t want to think about it all right now.

I let my mind go blank as I waited for Dane.

I heard approaching footsteps and I rushed back to the bed and laid down. As I looked at the ceiling, I saw a CCTV above red light blinking.

I burst into laughter as it dawned on me that I had just made a complete fool of myself in front of anyone watching the CCTV footage.

Dane walked in, and I quickly straightened my face, stifling the laugh. There was no way I’d be able to explain to him what I found so funny anyway.

The pack doctor followed, he shifted his glasses as he walked past Dane and reached me on the bed.

“Greetings Alpha. Luna, how did you say you were feeling?”

I am not feeling anything, I screamed in my head as I looked around the room, my fingers webbed together on my belly.

My eyes met Dane’s and he frowned at me. “Tell him,” he whispered to me.

“Well…” I started and cleared my throat, “It all started this morning, I lost appetite to eat and I felt a bit dizzy and it felt like I needed to puke.”

“Hmm,” the pack doctor sighed as he took my hand to check my pulse.

My gaze reached Dane and I saw him grinning sheepishly. I narrowed my gaze at him.

How can he be so happy about those things? He should feel sorry for me.

Selfish… he just wants a baby… that’s all.

The doctor looked in my eyes and then he checked my palm too.

“Well, I can’t see any visible symptoms now, I’d advise you to go. and come next week.”

“Damnit,” Dane groaned. I got up and walked up to Dane, he seemed moody, “Let’s go. He said as he took my hand and we headed out.”

“What!!” I pulled out my hand before we reached the exit… “I think i have a running stomach, you leave, I will come later.”

Dane furrowed his brow, “But you can do that in our bathroom.”

I shook my head, “No this is urgent.” I said and raced back inside towards the bathroom.
