Smoke billowed up.
Clint, struggling to breathe, urgently called out to Deluca to remove the silver needle from his neck. "Delly! Can you hear me? Delly!"
...
As the smoke cleared, Deluca sat dazed on the ground.
Clint strained to look his way, and what he saw left him in disbelief.
"Uncle..." Deluca called out to Clint, his voice hollow.
Clint's eyes widened before starting to fill up with tears.
The Doom Spawn in front of him was not just anyone; it was his sister, Nora. She was a Doom Spawn, and a weak one at that.
Deluca's earlier strike had left her barely alive.
Grief overtook Clint's mind, drowning him in sorrow.
"M-Mom..." Deluca sobbed uncontrollably as she looked at Nora, who was unresponsive. His tears flowed freely.
"I... I did this... I killed..."
Deluca wept bitterly, unable to believe that his long-lost mother was right before him, now slipping away. He trembled as he used his true energy to try and heal Nora's wounds, but it seemed to be too late. Malvol watched the two, now incapable of fighting, with a contemptuous smile. "Just a couple of ants," he sneered.

Back in the Northern Territory,
Nash's left hand held the Shura
Sky-Piercing Spear, and his rig
gripped the Bloodthirster Bone Sword.
He battled Arlo high in the sky, thousands of meters up.
Arlo seemed nearly immune to Nash's attacks. Even a full-force strike from the Shura Sky-Piercing Spear left no mark on him.
Meanwhile, Arlo's punches landed with devastating effect.
A mere brush of his fist wind left a gash on Nash's arm.
"There's something strange about his punches," Nash thought.
Arlo kept attacking relentlessly, forcing Nash into a defensive stance.
Despite the elders not being on par with the gods Nash had previously faced, their abilities were infuriatingly troublesome.noveldrama
Arlo, in particular, had changed his fighting style to rely almost entirely on physical attacks. What baffled Nash was that none of his attacks could harm Arlo, regardless of
distance or power.
It became evident that Arlo's ability might involve nullifying true energy attacks. However, could such an ability really exist?
Nash pondered this while Arlo's attacks continued to rain down.
Nash slashed at Arlo with the Bloodthirster Bone Sword, hoping its analytical abilities would find a weakness.
Nonetheless, even a direct hit left Arlo unfazed. Nash found himself on the back foot as his two powerful weapons were ineffective.
He needed to find a loophole. He realized this would be a prolonged battle.
Meanwhile, the giant tree continued
absorbing true energy around it. The streets were filled with people

transforming into tree demons.
It felt as though the apocalypse had truly arrived.
