Pyramid mayhem part 2

Pyramid mayhem part 2

Ron backed up to gain some distance from the guards; he couldn't take too many hits from them, taking his whip out and increasing its weight by ten times and lashing out to the closest guard. The whip hit the guards but seemed to have little effect, the guard seemingly shrugged off the attack and began walking towards Ron again.

('They're slow but sturdy') Ron identified the pros and cons of the guards, they were easy to kite around but that wouldn't help much if he couldn't damage them whatsoever. Along with the fact that they hit like trucks when they got close it wouldn't do good to go and punch them.

('This is the perfect time to test the new enchantment') Ron thought as he realised it was going nowhere with the ten times weight whip, he needed more weight. Taking a deep breath Ron activated the kindling state and increased the weight of the whip to 25 times. Feeling the power increase and feeling the whip being manageable Ron whipped the closest guard, *bam* a heavy slam sounded out as the whip crashed into the guard.

This time it seemed to have the desired effect as the guard stumbled and cracks formed on its body, Ron grinned as he saw that the whip was now much more powerful. Having weight increasing effect on a whip seemed counterintuitive and you'd be correct, the whip was usually a light and long type weapon now it was a heavy and long type weapon. Only those with superhuman strength could lash it around like what Ron was doing now.

Of course if Ron wanted an even heavier whip he'd need to change it all together, which is what he wanted to do. Down the road he wanted to get Vampire Killer and along with all the upgrades it could get, it would take tons of points and even longer to obtain them but that was all in the long run. For now the Whip of Alchemy came first then the Belmont bloodline second.

When Ron entered the kindling state it only took a few more lashes for the guard to crumble into pieces, rinse and repeat for the remaining guards. There really wasn't anything special about this fight, they were too slow to catch Ron normally let alone in his kindling state. The last guard crumbled as Ron deactivated his kindling state and took a deep breath, it was still an exhausting technique and the weakness and fatigue that followed were always annoying.

Ron took out one rejuvenation potion and drank it all in one go, it luckily tasted like normal water but the effect soon took hold and eliminated his fatigue and weakness in one go. He had another one left and he didn't want to be surprised when he continued onward only to encounter a tougher fight and be fatigued.

As for the dungeon itself, it was mentioned as a 'nameless pharaoh's tomb' this could mean many things. It could mean the pharaoh didn't have a name to begin with, which was very unlikely. It could've been for a pharaoh undeserving of even being mentioned, but there were guards here to protect the tomb so that couldn't be correct. This dungeon wasn't making sense to Ron; there had to be more to it.

Taking another look at the hieroglyphs on the wall, Ron thought about translating it once more, maybe it held a clue about this dungeon or maybe it was all just useless fluff text. Ron couldn't know which one was true and decided against making the wish, making wishes with no pay off was just not wise.

Walking ahead into the room Ron stood in front of a door, Ron placed his hand on the door and didn't get a message. ('Looks like the dungeon is still not over yet') Ron concluded and pushed open the door. It opened to a passageway to which Ron had strong deja-vu feelings, ('Don't tell me this is another maze') the headache that Ron dodged earlier seemed to come back with a vengeance.

He walked down the passageway and soon came the dreaded forked path, it looked almost like a complete carbon copy of the first maze. Ron decided to take the gamble and walk the same path as the first maze hoping that it would end up being the same as last time, unfortunately he wasn't so lucky this time. ('This is going to take forever') Ron now regretted taking the rejuvenation potion earlier, but he quickly shook his head dispelling those thoughts. Had he been ambushed and fatigued he would've likely died by now.

Encountering traps and multiple dead ends it took Ron close to 2 days before he had finally reached the end of the maze. There were some close calls here and there like when the floor suddenly fell out from Ron's feet and had to hang on the edge for dear life. Ron also encountered another type of trap where multiple scarabs suddenly swarmed him, luckily his whip could burn them all away before they became too much of a problem.

At the end of the maze Ron encountered yet another set of stairs going down, just when he expected another room of guards he instead came into a room with tablets on the floor. ('Okay that's new') Ron didn't know what to think about the tablets, he looked closely at the tablets and they all depicted different hieroglyphic symbols. Looking at the walls Ron could see more hieroglyphic symbols yet some seemed to be missing.

('Is this a fill in the blank?') Ron tried pushing the closest tablet on the floor and saw it light up to his touch and appear on the wall, just when he thought he got lucky with his first try the hieroglyph vanished and Ron's hand was repelled back. ('So I just get repelled back?') Ron tried another tablet this time standing on the tablet only to be pushed back when it was incorrect.

Ron frowned a little as this seemed almost too safe, the entire dungeon had been trying to kill him with traps and guards and now it just pushed him back? That was highly unlikely. Ron decided to test something out and jumped to a second row tablet, it also pushed Ron away but not before triggering the adjacent one on the first row as well throwing Ron back with even greater force.

('And there's the catch') Ron concluded if he got thrown back at the very last hieroglyph it would trigger all of them in a line and throw Ron back with enough force to splatter him on the wall. ('So how do I avoid being wall paste?') Ron thought about his options, he could simply try his luck and maybe weather the hit against the wall. Or he could maybe try and use some heavy object, looking into his storage pouch Ron saw the old bathtub he used when he rescued Scarlett and Elwynn.

Breaking off a heavy piece of the bathtub Ron threw it onto a plate and the plate lit up before it was thrown back in Ron's face, eventually he hit a correct tile and it remained lit. If Ron had spent points learning he could maybe understand the hieroglyphics and the message it was trying to tell him but Ron didn't think about it.

Ron eventually got across the room and the door clicked open, there were some close calls with the bathtub piece that even smashed a hole into the wall behind Ron. He definitely wouldn't have survived the force that the last plate managed to collect. Touching the door once more showed Ron it still wasn't the end of the dungeon ('Just how long is this dungeon?') Ron had already spent over 2 days in the dungeon so he thought it would end soon.

Opening the door revealed another passageway, just when Ron started to get annoyed that he would run into another maze the hallway opened up into another chamber. The chamber had a sarcophagus in the middle with all sorts of hieroglyphs around it. There were also two doors, touching one door did nothing; it also wouldn't budge. The other door came as a small surprise; it was the exit for the dungeon.

('Then just what is the other door for?') Ron was a little confused so he looked at the only other thing in the room; the sarcophagus. He tried to get close to open it when the hieroglyphs lit up and created a barrier and shielded the sarcophagus. He tapped the shield a couple of times and it seemed to be pretty sturdy.

('Should I try and break it?') Ron thought about breaking the shield and looking inside the sarcophagus, it was highly likely that there was something inside it which would open the other door. It was also possible there was something in there that shouldn't be opened, it would explain the name of the dungeon. But at the same time Ron didn't faze much resistance in the entire dungeon and if it indeed was something bad stored in the sarcophagus it might even unlock the door in front of him.

Ron prepared a claw and struck the barrier as hard as he could, the barrier however stood mighty against Ron's blow. ('Pretty sturdy one huh?') Ron smiled a little as he entered the kindling state for a brief moment and struck the barrier once more with all his might. Cracks started to form in the barrier and with one final push it shattered into pieces.

Taking a small break to relieve himself of the side effects of the kindling state Ron looks at the sarcophagus closer now and sees it's pretty ancient with a thick layer of dust over it. After recovering from the side effects of the kindling state Ron pushes open the sarcophagus. He only sees a mummified corpse inside of the sarcophagus and doesn't see or hear anything else. ('Was I wrong?') Just when Ron thought that the mummy inside the sarcophagus turned its head to face him.

The action suddenly scared Ron so bad he immediately jumped back. The mummy however suddenly got up and looked at Ron, its movements a little robotic almost as if it was remembering how its supposed to move. Slowly it crawled out of the sarcophagus standing upright, its gaze still locked at Ron it slowly limped towards him then the limp turned into a walk then into a short run until he was right next to Ron it suddenly swung its fist.

Ron quickly put his guard up but could feel the punch almost break his arms, Ron was lifted off his feet and thrown across the room by the force. ('Strong!') His arms felt numb and he entered the kindling state just in time as the mummy didn't intend to give him a break. The mummy swung once more with Ron dodging it by a hair and counter attacking with a straight punch.

The punch hit the mummy square on but to Ron it only felt like he punched a heavy sandbag, the mummy buckled over a little before staring at Ron once more. Ron could swear he could hear it cackle as its intellect was quickly increasing, it was quite unnerving. Ron grew out his hands as claws and went to stab it, the mummy thinking it could take the blow didn't do anything only to be surprised when Ron's hand pierced through its body. In retaliation it threw a punch at Ron's gut that he couldn't dodge in time.

It felt like he was struck with a rock as all the air in his lungs escaped, realising he had to create some distance and re-engage Ron pulled his arm out of the body and jumped back but not before the mummy quickly followed him. The mummy had a fist sized hole in its body and seemed to be leaking sand?

The mummy was fast and hit extremely hard, it slowly gained on Ron who had to dodge another swing. It was also slowly getting faster and seemed to be getting smarter as well as it pulled in its fist quicker and wound up another punch. This one however looked to be thrown by an experienced fighter.
