Dungeon woes finale

Dungeon woes finale

Ron opened his eyes to see a white void around him, trying to recall where he was. He frowned a little when the last he remembered he was at the kobold dungeon and was injured before falling unconscious. Did he die again? Was there really a third chance at life?

He tried opening the store but nothing came up. Was he still even in the tower? Shaking his head Ron also didn't see any injuries on him, nevermind injuries he was also naked. ('Is this a dream?') This wasn't the first time Ron thought he was dreaming when waking up in a strange place but this one really did seem like a dream.

With no other option Ron walked around the white void seemingly aimless he continued walking for what seemed to be an eternity yet found nothing. ('What am I missing') Ron frowned as he stopped. There had to be something here but he couldn't seem to find it.

He couldn't see anything except the white void, he couldn't hear anything, not even the sound of his own heartbeat. ('Sound?, sight?, senses? Could it be?') an idea came to Ron as he breathed deeply and closed his eyes, Ron started to enter the meditative state. It felt like he was diving into the ocean going deeper and deeper than ever before.

Soon he began to feel a pull towards a location, Ron opened his eyes to see the white void had slightly changed a little. Small stars were now faintly visible, a dull thumping sound was audible now as well coming from far away. Ron concentrated and walked towards the pulling feeling. The thumping sound was getting louder and louder.

As Ron was getting closer he could feel a faint pressure coming in as well wanting to push him away. It felt like walking through the sea with the pressure slowly mounting. Taking one step at a time a purple flame came into vision. The flame was the source of the thumping and also the pressure on Ron.

Having to take deep breaths a small headache was forming in Ron's head, it meant the overuse of the meditative state. Ron didn't deactivate it; he had a feeling the moment he did he was going to be thrown back. The pressure was high and Ron had to take a deep breath with every step, every step closer the headache became more painful.

Yet Ron still walked forward inching his way towards the flame that didn't seem like it wanted Ron close to it. After what felt like an eternity and his entire head feeling like it could pop any second Ron came to the flame and managed to touch it. The moment Ron touched the flame a pulse shot out and lit up all the stars in the void with a bright purple colour.

Slowly all the stars dimmed once more however the last one stayed lit. The pressure decreased and the flame also dimmed down. Dispelling the meditative state Ron felt his headache clearing up like a fog had lifted. Soon Ron collapsed once more before the scene changed. This time it was a cave with bodies in it. It was the dungeon he was in.

Ron opened his eyes and tried to slowly stand up but was assaulted by pain everywhere, his clothes were bloodstained and ripped in many parts. He was back at the dungeon. ('Was that whole scene just now real or a dream?') Ron didn't know what happened but one thing was clear. He was still alive. All the minor wounds had scabbed over with the big wounds still in bandages.

A door appeared in the wall catching Ron's attention, slowly walking over he could feel something different about his body. It felt a little off, like something had changed on a deep level. It was an odd feeling that Ron couldn't place, was it because of his injuries?

Reaching the door Ron put his hand on it to get a message: 'Exit the dungeon?'. It was the exit seemingly so what about the mural on the wall then? Just extra scenery? In the entire dungeon the kobolds were mining stones that could be used by casters for magic and now with a mural on the wall it was all just part of the setting? It seemed plausible yet Ron remembered a crucial hint at the very beginning of the dungeon.

"Non repeatable" Ron muttered. This dungeon could only be entered once and couldn't be done again by the same person. There had to be a secret here one could have one try to find it. Moving away from the door Ron inspected the mural up close. It was a circle with lines spreading from the middle. It looked like the sun? Heat was needed? Ron took a torch and pressed it to the wall. Nothing seemed to happen.

Ron thought about it for a minute before testing what would happen if he placed a stone inside the torch? The moment the stone hit the flame it began getting hotter and shining brightly similar to what happened when the caster was preparing his spell. However it didn't turn into a fireball and soon it dimmed and crumbled.

Ron gave it another try but this time he brought the shining stone closer to the mural. The mural in turn slightly shined a little before dimming down again with the stone crumbling. He was onto something here but there had to be more he was missing. Ron touched the mural and felt slight indentations in the mural itself. Was part of it broken?

Thinking about it for a second it didn't seem like it, Ron decided to use a pickaxe breaking off small chunks of the stone before putting them in the mural wall. Using the torch once more the chunks lit up also lighting up the mural before dimming once more with the chunks crumbling. "Seems like I got the answer," Ron muttered, smiling victoriously. He needed to fill the gaps with the stones and light it all up at once.

('Why didn't the kobold think of that?') Ron thought of an issue before coming to an answer soon enough. ('Did they not know of the indentations? Then why collect the stones?') After thinking about it for a while a wild guess came into Ron's head. Did the kobold want to turn all these rocks into one big fireball and break the wall that way? Ron's guess was indeed what its plan was.

('What a brutish way') Ron shook his head and began breaking all the rocks into smaller chunks slowly filling up all the tiny gaps in the mural. It took multiple hours and Ron even had to take multiple breaks but soon all the gaps were filled. Ron double checked the entire wall making sure not to miss any tiny piece before bringing the torch to the mural. The wall lit up where the flame went and slowly the whole mural shone brightly and continued to shine this time.

Soon the wall began to shake and the circle in the wall seemed to open up. Making way to a deeper part of the cave. *Ding* An alarm sounded in Ron's head that he had triggered an achievement.

"CONGRATULATION YOU HAVE GAINED THE ACHIEVEMENT NAMED 'SECRET FINDER' FOR FINDING A SECRET INSIDE A DUNGEON. YOU HAVE BEEN AWARDED 1,500 WISH POINTS. CURRENT WISH POINTS 1,500".

('Jackpot') Ron grinned. He had finally gotten some wish points again and a secret inside the dungeon to boot. Walking deeper in the secret cave Ron soon came to a small room with a bottle filled with red liquid in the centre on a pedestal. There were more murals on the wall.

It was a story of a person whose land was ravaged by a bull, seemingly powerless to stop the bull. The person ventured out to find materials for a potion recipe he had inherited as a family heirloom. It took many moons yet the person finally found all the ingredients and made the potion. Upon completion the person drank the potion and fought the bull once more. This time the person overpowered the bull and killed it, reclaiming their land once more.

('Looks like this potion will increase my strength by a good portion!') Ron was ecstatic. He felt like a man dying of thirst having found a well of water. It was exactly what he needed to improve his killing power. Ron fought the impulse to drink it right then and there and stored it, he wanted to completely heal up first. Call it stupid but he couldn't take any chances his injuries might mess up the process.

Taking another good look around to make sure he missed nothing he thought about who would set up a cave like this? Was it the tower itself? Ron didn't know if he had somehow stumbled upon an inheritance or something but he couldn't help it. After making sure he missed nothing Ron slowly walked back to the door and exited the dungeon.

Walking through the door Ron came to a black void with a screen suddenly popping up in front of him.

Dungeon: Kobolds cave

Difficulty: Easy

Clear time: Very slow

Monsters killed: 100%

Damage done: 100%

Secret room: Found

Final Grade: B+

Ron looked at the final grade and found it to be appropriate, he did after all take a nap in the middle of the dungeon and even fell unconscious at the end. The screen soon changed and displayed another message.

Generating rewards…

Wishmaster status has been confirmed granting 3,500 wish points for the first clear.

Bonus reward has been generated.

Soon a light appeared and a chest appeared. Ron also got the first clear of the kobolds cave achievement granting him 3,500 wish points making his total now 5,000 wish points. If he had gotten a higher grade would he have gotten more wish points? It sounded very likely and now Ron was regretting taking the nap earlier.

Ron opened the chest and was pleasantly surprised when he saw what it was, it was a whip. A little card seemed to be along with the whip. 'Whip of searing flesh. A whip magically enchanted to cause minor burn damage when making contact'.

('A magic whip?!') Ron was greatly surprised. Having lost his whip he wanted to try and buy a new one from the 5,000 points he earned but now it was no longer needed. Magical enchantments were something Ron could try and test out with the wishing points.

Soon another door appeared with nothing left. Ron opened it only to find himself back in a cave. But this cave was familiar, it was the entrance of the dungeon that Ron could see when the door closed again. He tried opening it only for it to be locked for him. Seems like it really only was once.

Walking out of the cave into the sunlight Ron squinted his eyes. Not used to the sunlight anymore he slowly adapted before walking north he was going to meet up with Scarlett at the waterfall. At least he hoped she was still there who knows how long he was gone for.

Ron still didn't know how long he was in the dungeon but seeing it was light outside at least 24 hours must have passed. Walking to the waterfall took some time especially since he was still injured and could only walk slowly taking breaks every so often.

When he reached the waterfall however a strange scene came in front of him. There were a bunch of men doing a variation of exercises from pushups to sit-ups, there were also a lot of them with wooden sticks fighting against each other. What in the world was going on here? Did Scarlett begin teaching them all? Or were they just here training coincidentally.

"Who's there!?" One of the men suddenly spotted Ron walking towards them. However upon noticing his limp and bandages their alarm dimmed down a little. Still on guard against the man however one of the men stepped up.
