"Thanks for the tip, hopefully I'll be less deadweight now" Ron thanked Goblin Slayer and made a joke about his combat skills.

"Hm" Goblin Slayer just nodded his head looking around, he could see the goblin tracks in the forest clearly going towards the walled off structure in the distance.

"Strange" Goblin Slayer just stated.

"What is strange?" Ron asked and started to feel a pattern with Goblin Slayer here.

"Goblins don't build structures, they wander around and grow a big horde; they don't settle down". Goblin Slayer explained. His knowledge of goblins is already shining through.

"So what does this mean for our situation?" Ron asked.

"It means that there's a leader who's giving them orders," Goblin Slayer said.

A leader among the goblins is not a good sign. Ron had seen the show and also the leaders.

Shamans, Champions, Paladins and Lords were usually the leading figures. Ron knew shamans made totems around their territory but spotted none so shaman could be ruled out.

If it was a Champion or Lord they were screwed, no way around that, those things are strong. Only the paladin was manageable at best with only the two of them.

"Hmm?" Goblin Slayer noticed something in the distance that caused Ron to look over as well. A group of 4 goblins were coming this way.

"Did we get spotted?" Ron feared the worst had happened.

"No, this is a hunting party. Perfect timing" Goblin Slayer replied.

"Perfect timing?" Ron asked intrigued at what Goblin Slayer was hinting at.

"Follow me" Goblin Slayer said walking away. Clearly he was thinking about killing this small party and thought it was the perfect chance for some experience in combat.

Ron took a deep breath to steady his nerves and followed Goblin Slayer. Internally however he was getting excited. This would be his first proper fight, he didn't count the scuffle with the boar yesterday.

"We stand behind one of these trees and wait for them to pass us by. Remember the tip and don't panic" Goblin Slayer explained it was a simple plan but if it worked they would kill 2 goblins at once and be left with a 2 vs 2 fight.

Ron walked behind a tree with Goblin Slayer behind another tree slowly. They waited for the goblins to come. It felt like hours as Ron gripped his spear hard before they finally came into view.

*grrr* The goblins made growling sounds as they walked and looked around. They were currently looking for food for the tribe. The goblins were completely oblivious as they walked past the trees Ron and Goblin Slayer were hiding behind.

Ron looked at Goblin Slayer after the goblins had moved past them, their backs fully exposed.

Goblin Slayer nodded at Ron and sprinted towards one of them. Ron also sprinted towards the closest goblin. By now their sounds already gave them away as the goblins turned looking shocked.

Goblin Slayer drew his sword and slashed down hard at the head of one of the goblins. The head caved in and got sliced open blood going everywhere. "One" Goblin Slayer said to no one as he glanced quickly at Ron to see if he also succeeded.

Ron ran towards one of the goblins with his spear close by him. Remembering Goblin Slayers tip as he got close to the goblin and stepped in and thrusted the spear with his full weight. The spear hit the goblins chest and went cleanly through.

Ron looked at the still twitching goblin skewered at his spear. He started breathing heavily from the smell of blood hitting him. "Look out!" He suddenly heard Goblin Slayer shout at him, it snapped him out of his thoughts and he saw the other goblin charging at him.

Ron decided in a split second to stab out again but the added weight of the goblin still hanging off his spear caused it to be a lot slower than before. The charging goblin easily avoided the attack as he jumped back. Ron took this chance to get the hanging goblin off the spear.

On the other side of the fight Goblin Slayer now had to deal with the other goblin as he shouted the warning the goblin took a chance and rushed at him. Goblin Slayer deftly parried the incoming strike with his shield and sliced once more with his sword cleanly hitting the goblins throat and killing it instantly. "Two" Goblin Slayer calmly stated as he turned to look at Ron's fight.

Ron stabbed wildly at the goblin but it keeped evading his strikes. ('This will get me nowhere I'll only get exhausted at this rate') Ron thought as he realised the goblins plan was. ('I need an opening') Ron started to breathe heavily and move sluggishly as the goblin started laughing.

Ron made a slow stab that missed the goblin as the goblin started laughing and running towards Ron as he made a mistake. ('Got him') Ron suddenly smiled and quickly pulled the spear back. The goblin now realising it had been fooled was shocked. Ron made a quick swipe with the spear and slammed the goblin in the side.

The goblin flew a bit away before he laid on the ground stunned. Ron quickly chased after it and stabbed it when it was on the ground. Ron pulled out the spear and stabbed again only stopping after 4 stabs.

*huff* *huff* Ron was exhausted as he turned to look at calmly looking at him "That's four" Goblin Slayer calmly stated. Ron started to calm down as the adrenaline was quickly leaving his body before the smell returned to his nose and he saw what he did, his stomach turning as he breathed every breath.

"Breathe through your nose you'll get used to it" Goblin Slayer advised Ron. As he started walking back to the edge of the forest. Ron breathed through his nose and calmed down slowly. This was his first fight and he killed two goblins during the fight.

Ron looked back at Goblin Slayer who was walking away. ('He's not even breathing hard and had spare time to watch me fight, I must get stronger!') Ron was determined to become better. Ron wanted to explore the whole tower and for that he needed to become much stronger.

Ron followed Goblin Slayer as they walked towards the goblin camp. "What's the plan?" Ron asked Goblin Slayer, he knew the most about goblins and probably had a decent plan in mind.

"We kill them" Goblin Slayer stated factually and didn't elaborate further.

"I mean how do we get in the camp" Ron was already a little tired from the fight and conversing with Goblin Slayer didn't help it.

"What can you buy?" Goblin Slayer asked Ron. Ron had told him about the wish store and how he managed to summon him.

"I can buy anything as long as I have enough points. I haven't found a limit yet." Ron answered "Ah but I would like the camp to remain whole if goblins didn't make it, it must have been a human settlement". Ron hadn't seen anything from other humans yet and maybe it could give a clue to the general area around him.

"Hm, then it will be a little bit more difficult," Goblin Slayer said. It would've been easier to destroy the whole camp.

Ron and Goblin Slayer came to the open field and just walked right up to the base. "Won't they see us this way?" Ron asked "There's no watch and they're not expecting their hunting party to come back this quickly" Goblin Slayer answered after looking at the wall.

"Can you buy a rope with a hook?" Goblin Slayer asked, clearly looking to climb this wall.

"I can do you one better" Ron said after getting Goblin Slayers' idea. Ron opened the wish store and bought two wooden blocks one taller than the other one for 10 wish points. Using his bag of holding he created stairs. Ron got the idea from playing video games in his past.

"Now we can climb and even peek over the wall to see if the coast is clear". Ron explained. Ron closed the wish store before noting he now had 2,975 points left over. Ron and Goblin Slayer climbed the blocks and peeked over the wall to observe the town or what was left of it really.

It wasn't all that big of a town all in all there were 10 buildings with the biggest one in the middle. There were no goblins in sight which was odd to say the least was this entire city empty?

"Where are they all?" Ron muttered as he looked at the empty town.

"Most likely they're asleep in the buildings" Goblin Slayer noted. "Goblins are usually asleep during this time and only come out at night, the hunting party we encountered must have also been the watch"

"Why go out hunting if you're assigned to watch?" Ron was confused, why would they even do that?

"It must mean that food is scarce or that they were just attacked, probably the latter with the boar they got yesterday" Goblin Slayer noted.

"So what do we do now? Go door to door?" Ron asked.

"Can you buy something to attract their attention?" Goblin Slayer asked Ron. He had a plan in mind.

"Sure what else do you need?" Ron quickly answered Goblin Slayer.

"Can you also buy something that stuns them?" Goblin Slayer also told Ron. Clearly he was going to lure them all out and stun them, then kill them all.

"I can manage that with some items," Ron told Goblin Slayer. He opened the wish store and bought the following items: A loud firecracker, a lighter, and a tear gas grenade. All of these things cost Ron a total of 150 wish points. Ron gave the grenade to Goblin Slayer.

Ron could've also got a more powerful grenade to try and kill all the goblins, however that would cost way too many points. A simple frag grenade costs 1500, this way he could save some points.

"What's this?" Goblin Slayer asked. He's never seen an item like this before.

"A tear gas grenade, pull the pin and throw it when they all come out. Used by the police and military of my home during riots" Ron explained to Goblin Slayer. The tear gas grenade was a nasty tool, Ron never had been exposed to it but he's seen enough videos to know it was nasty.

"Hm," Goblin Slayer nodded.

"This thing will create a loud bang so be ready to pull the pin and throw" Ron told Goblin Slayer "After that we wait for the smoke to clear first unless we also want to join the goblins in a coughing fit".

Ron lit the firecracker and threw it in the middle of the town. *BANG* A loud bang appeared and the goblins came rushing out. There appeared to be a total of 20 small goblins with 2 big ones and 1 in armour.

"2 hobs, 1 paladin, 20 goblins" Goblin Slayer stated as he pulled the pin and threw the grenade in the middle of town. The grenade flew in the air and landed on the ground attracting all the goblins' attention. Just when it seemed like it was nothing special, smoke billowed out of the object.

Tears quickly came out of all the goblins' eyes as they started to cough violently. Even the paladin and 2 hobgoblins weren't unaffected. "Hm?" Goblin Slayer noticed something about the paladin and hobgoblin.

"What is it?" Ron asked Goblin Slayer when he heard him.

"The paladin is injured and one hob is missing an eye, they were indeed attacked earlier" Goblin Slayer explained. Ron looked over and saw the paladin's right arm hung limp and 1 hobgoblin seemed to be missing its eye.

"This will make it easier for us let's go" Goblin Slayer simply stated after the smoke cleared up and jumped over the wall and ran into the goblins. Ron quickly followed him with a small smile on him that even he didn't know about.
