Ceremony and rewards

The fight with the spirit seemed to be easy however one wrong move and Ron would end up dead, it was no lie to say the holy element weapon and magic carrier Ron to victory. Ron looked around the room and saw the corpse and the hundred other sarcophagi in the room, if Ron wasn’t wrong the actual real fight should’ve gone on a lot longer than just one corpse. The spirit would go from corpse to corpse slowly whittling down the enemies stamina and learning all their openings pressuring them more and more with each corpse.

Ron however cheated the system and struck the spirit directly, surprising it when he did and capitalised on the momentum with it on the back foot continuously Ron suppressed and eventually destroyed the spirit causing none of the other corpses to even be used. Ron realised now how the town lord could say the dungeon let him break through, for someone on the cusp of breaking through getting pressured and having your weaknesses and openings slowly pried open was the best way to improve. Scarlett would have a field day in this room.

Looking at the corpse on the floor Ron felt a bit awkward, its body was just violated by an unknown entity and its rest was disturbed. It was still intact due to Ron not cutting off any limbs this time around. Speaking of the previous corpse that was most likely the original body of the spirit, it explained why it was sealed outside of the actual burial room so the spirit couldn’t take over any corpses of the old pharaohs and defile them that way. Meaning that the spirit was most likely an ancient pharaoh that dabbled in evil arts causing him to be sealed.

Focusing back on the corpse Ron felt the strong urge to pick it up and return it to its resting place, this urge came from inside Ron or to be more specific his bloodline. The Belmont bloodline had the holy element and some Belmonts were devout catholics, it wasn't necessary but Ron respected the dead and would return them back to their resting place if he could.

Picking up the corpse Ron walked back to the original sarcophagus that was kicked open and put the corpse back into the coffin, grabbing the lid Ron put the lid back on and stepped back. His bloodline seemed to be happy with his choices and a warm current flowed through his body, upon checking the status screen Ron noticed his magic went up to 4. Seems like there is more to the bloodline than just a passive boost, was this with all bloodlines or just the Belmont one?

Being enthralled in his thoughts Ron failed to notice a small change in the room stemming from the coffin he just restored. Hieroglyphs on the coffin were shining faintly with them slowly spreading to every coffin in the room. Ron finally noticed the light and he retreated back to the centre of the room to get a better view. Ron didn’t know what was going to happen however he didn’t have a bad feeling of the phenomenon, the coffins lit up like christmas trees before they all shot out a beam that coagulated into a massive shape in front of Ron.

The shape slowly took form into a massive crowd of people, all these people were the pharaoh’s that were resting in their respective coffins. There were more men than women present which wasn’t all that surprising to Ron, all the men looked Ron in the eyes while the women were avoiding eye contact. All the people present lifted their right hand and placed it on their hearts and spoke loud and clear; ‘Shukra’.

Although Ron didn’t know what it meant he understood the meaning of the gesture, Ron smiled and also put his right hand over his heart. Everyone in the room smiled at Ron’s respect and soon the room began to change. All the pharaoh’s expressions became stern and a lot showed reverence. Figures descended down to the room and all of them were seated, Ron counted 42 figures.

Soon other items started appearing, a scale appeared and even a large chair along with a multitude of other items. Other figures started to appear, a man with a canine head appeared, along with another man with an ibis head who was reading to start writing on his papers. At the scale another creature appeared with the head of a crocodile and behind it was a man with the head of an eagle.

Ron knew very little about Egyptian mythos and the ceremony in general due to not being interested in such stories, however he did know about Anubis due to his popularity. If Ron was not mistaken this was a ceremony that judged the person that wanted to move on. All the figures suddenly turned to the chair and opened their hands and slightly lifted them as they knelt on one knee. A giant figure descended down and Ron could feel the pressure in the room rising as the man entered, an oppressive feeling was placed upon the room.

The figure was holding a crook and flail and was sitting in the chair, two women could be seen behind him. The man scanned the room pausing briefly when his gaze landed on Ron before continuing and landed upon Anubis. Anubis, taking the hint, moved to the first person and led them to the 42 sitting figures. The pharaoh seemed to be moving his lips yet no words came out, it seems like cheating was not allowed here.

After the pharaoh spoke to the 42 sitting figures Anubis led them to the scale, a feather was placed on one end of the scale and the crocodile headed creature seemed to be anticipating something. Anubis turned to the pharaoh to which the pharaoh took out his heart from his chest and gave it to Anubis. Ron could see that there was something else in his chest as well however he couldn’t identify it. Anubis then placed the heart on the scale. The scale didn’t move which the pharaoh seemed to have expected. The crocodile headed creature realised what happened and looked at the rest of the crowd with a slightly annoyed look before landing on Ron with some drool in its mouth ('It's not looking at me is it?') Ron tried to ignore the creature.

The ibis headed man scribbled something down before the eagle headed man came forward and brought the pharaoh to the man sitting on the chair. The man nodded and a light came off his crook and flail showering the pharaoh with light as he disappeared. The pharaoh that disappeared looked one last time at Ron with a smile before going.

This was the whole ceremony and it would be repeated a near hundred times before it could end. Ron wasn’t going to complain however, he knew better than to antagonise those with massive power. He would sit through this ceremony to the bitter end, was this better than fighting almost a hundred corpses with the evil spirit? Maybe, maybe not.

While in his thoughts Ron could sometimes feel the man in the chair glancing over him as Ron sat like a stone, he swore he could feel the man’s enthusiasm sometimes as he was clearly making Ron uncomfortable. Other than the man in the chair, sometimes the crocodile headed creature would stare at Ron, he felt like he was unjustly accused just because he brought all these pharaoh’s here to be passed, how could Ron know that pharaoh’s apparently had some sort of insurance.

Hours slowly passed as the pharaoh’s got judged one by one, they all passed and none failed. Ron assumed this was because pharaoh’s got plenty of resources and prep time for the afterlife. Ron did wonder why the whole ceremony happened now and why he didn’t hear anyone talk about it, if it was the case that a whole egyptian burial ceremony would take place with literal gods it wouldn’t just be 100 merit points to enter. Was Ron the first that this had happened to? If so, then what caused it? Ron thought about the corpses and that he didn’t destroy any of them and even restored one back to its resting place, was this the trigger?

After the last pharaoh was sent on their way Ron felt multiple people staring at him, was he supposed to say something? Did they think he was next in line to be judged? Ron was panicking a little; he didn't want to offend the literal gods yet they didn’t leave much room for choice here. Before Ron could act the eagle headed man came to him and motioned for him to follow, following the eagle headed man to where the man in the chair was being seated. The man in the chair looked at Ron before he nodded at the eagle headed man, the eagle headed man then put up his hand and a portal opened to which two items came out of; a crook and a flail.

The crook and flail were handed to Ron who accepted the gifts, although he didn’t know what it meant or even what they could do he would find some use for these items later. Ron placed his right hand over his heart and repeated the word that the pharaohs had told him earlier; ‘Shukra’. The eagle headed man nodded and the man in the chair seemed amused, quickly thereafter they all left one by one.

Silence was returned once more and Ron was left with a crook and flail in his hands, he stashed them away in his pouch for now and quickly located the door for the exit. There was nothing left in the room for him to check on and Ron wanted to move his body after sitting still for multiple hours. Opening the door Ron came to the usual dark room waiting for the ending to the dungeon.

Dungeon: Nameless Pharaoh’s Tomb

Level: Second level

Damage done: 100%

Secret Event: Found

Final Grade: A+

So it was a secret event indeed, Ron was interested in finding out if others who have done the second level but not found the secret would still get the notification that they left a secret in there.

Generating rewards…

Wishmaster status has been confirmed granting 10,000 wish points for the first clear.

Bonus reward has been generated.

A chest appeared the same as the last time Ron had theorised one needed 100% monsters dead and 100% damage done to get the bonus reward but it may also need to have the secret found. This time Ron found the secret by pure chance but he was going to take it either way, the 10,000 wish points were the most he’s ever gotten before putting his total up to 12,000.

Opening the chest contained an interesting item, it was a small ankh that came with a string. There was a card detailing the item the same as last time; ‘Ankh of life. An ankh magically imbued to give the wearer a boost in restorative abilities’. ('Interesting') Ron thought it was an item that basically increased his vitality, items didn’t seem to be giving stat points however their effects would simulate how the item would work if it did give out stat points. Ron put on the ankh necklace and felt the change in his restorative functions, his slight healing factor from the potion seemed to speed up significantly at this rate his injuries from the kindling state would heal in just half a day.

The door to the desert had appeared and Ron decided to walk through it, there wasn’t much left in here so why would he wait? Sure he could heal his injuries here however he could also do that in the town itself. Plus Ron would need to use the wish store once outside to upgrade the Whip of Alchemy into the Vampire Killer. Ron wondered if Scarlett was out already, it was around the time she would have left the dungeon.
