Chapter 43. Psychopath.

Chapter 43. Psychopath.

For the rest of the day, Hilda and Jamine keeps arguing with Shila due to her being completely unwilling to allow Hilda access to her own points.

“Shila, pay up.”

“No.”

“Aunt! I'll hit you if you make mom angry!”

“I'll put you back into the system if I have to.”

“Shila, I'm gonna make you regret this.”

“Sure, I'm still not unlocking it until I know I can trust you.”

Hilda hits Shila with the flat side of her blade, sending her flying away.

“Jamine come on, let's go, I'm disowning Shila.”

“Have fun! Don't worry, I can't spend any of your points without your permission while it's locked. If your will is strong enough you can unlock it too!” Shila shouts out behind Hilda.

A motivation suddenly appears before Hilda and Jamine can walk away too far with Shila teleporting to them both and showing the notification.

Notification.

Sub-trait will now be added to everybody, it will not be shown due to a lack of physical benefits.

“Didn't you say it would improve my soul or whatever?”

“Yea, but that's considered a spiritual benefit, something the system can't accurately measure the benefits of. The guide is not a god after all.”

Notification.

Due to the similarity in personality and connection between the user and ‘Jamine’, both will share the same sub-trait.

“Huh?”

“Yay! Me and mom are the same!”

Notification.

Sub-trait will be activated in 10 seconds and forced to increase by 300 percent to assimilate into the user's soul easier.

“Huh?”

Notification.

The user's sub-trait is ‘Psychopath’ due to their lack of care for the majority of humanity, willing to kill anybody as long as it provides benefits.

‘psychopath” will improve your willpower. It will increase being apathetic to other users the user doesn't seem ‘close’. It will improve closeness towards those the user considers ‘close.’

Sub-trait has been activated.

Shila starts at these words for a moment before turning back to Hilda and Jamine who is just staring blankly into a random direction with Shila looking in the direction, trying to find out what is getting their interest.

This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere.

As Shila keeps concentrating, she realises she is facing the biggest and only market place along with where the majority of people live.

“Hilda, calm down, please?”

“Shila, I'll give you 5 seconds to unlock this now, or you're either going to end up with me converting a bunch of slaves, dead bodies or a detonation.”

“Yep, got it!”

Shila unlocks Hilda's points due to the fact that Hilda would definitely be more than willing to do what she just said this time unlike before. This and the fact that she may end up with a sword in her head if she doesn't listen.

“Shila, good girl, now you're not going to interfere with me.”

“Yep, whatever you say ma’am.”

“Shila, you should know who has been attacking me along with where, bring me there now.”

“But you know I'm not allowed to do such a thing, nope, too big of an advantage.”

“Shila, either the idiotic noble or the city.”

“But…”

Warning.

User's mentality is being affected due to the synergy between trait ‘sis con’ and sub-trait ‘psychopath.”.

Shila looks over at Hilda again with Jamine being somewhat fine still due to not having the same trait.

Hilda stares into the air again, muttering something softly to herself as Shila reads her mind.

“Lela… protect. Get strong. How? Level up and survive. How? Kill and defend. Defend wastes time. Attack the attacker. Where? Search. How? Skill, tracking.”

Shila suddenly feels Hilda using her skill, accurately pinpointing the noble’s daughter's location despite not having fulfilled the requirements sufficiently.

“What the hell? She can use my skills, and tracking shouldn't even work with how far it is and how little contact there was!”

Hilda starts dashing at full speed, carrying Jamine along as Shila gets dragged along, trying to contact the guide nonstop.

“Is that bastard busy right now?!”

Hilda reaches the noble's mansion, intruding in with spatial magic and kidnapping the marquess's daughter before planting the bomb and running away with her.

“Hey there little girl.”

“Mom, aren't you younger?”

“Shut it.”

“What do you want?! I don't even have anything to steal this time!”

“If I said your virginity!”

“Too bad, I'm not into women, especially one who clearly has a role playing fetish, playing the role of a thief at first and now a kidnapper.”

“I would refrain from insulting me, do you love your father?”

“Why wouldn't I?”

“It seems despite being a nuisance to me, he is a good father.”

“Why is that any of your business?”

“Because, unless you fork out everything of value to me, I'll blow your father on a one-way trip to… whatever you believe happens after death.”

“Nothing.”

“Very well, nothing.”

“What do you even want me to do? All I'm wearing is my dress.”

“You could be hiding things under it.”

“I'm not, believe what you want, I don't care.”

“I could tear your clothes off to look for valuables.”

“If you do that, you'll be hunted down.”

“Already am, also, I have a valuable hostage this time, two actually. Your home and you.”

“Hurry and tell me what valuables your house has now or else I'll really blow it up.”

“Fine, we have a blueprint.”

“Huh?”

“It's the most important valuable thing we have in the mansion right now.”

“What is it?”

“No clue, my father didn't let me see it.”

“Where is it hidden?”

“Not telling, it is protected by special walls, made of a metal you can't break unless your level 600, minimum that is unless you have a code, which my father does.”

“Thanks for the information.”

Hilda uses mental attack with obedience magic, forcing her to obey.

“Do you know the code?”

“Yes.”

“What is the blueprint about?”

“The orb, the condensed—--”

She grips her head, seemingly having a headache, something Hilda knows that isn't possible due to the mental magic preventing pain unless she allows it.”

“Ah, the stupid restriction again.”

Hilda releases the obedience magic on the girl who just glares at her in silence.

“Seems you still have a mind of your own if I don't control you.”

“Listen up, later the bomb will blow up, you are not allowed to alert anybody, but I'll give you a chance to save what you've got. You should be decently strong, so bring the bomb and blueprint back to me by the end of an hour and I'll let you go, free.”

“Promise?”

“Yep.”

She tries to start running, thinking it'll be easy due to not being too far away from her home as Hilda activates the obedience magic slightly, preventing any running, chasing her to glare at Hilda again.

“You might want to hurry up.”

“Bitch!”

“My specialty.”

The guide appears again as the noble girl walks off.

“Hilda, didn't we have an agreement?”

“One that doesn't benefit me, not that I care about an agreement with you. After this, I'll slaughter the entire city to level up, Kay?”

“No Hilda, stop this.”

“Why should I?”

“Hilda—”

“Guide, sincerely. Fuck off.”

“Hilda, you'll regret it if you do this.”

The guide disappears, his original spot replaced with Shila and Jamine.

“Jamine, did aunt stop you from following me?”

“Yea, she teleported me out of your arms with the weird guy's help!”

Hilda swings her sword at Shila again who blocks it with ease using a single arm.

“Hilda, did you really think that such a halfhearted swing would work?”

“No, but you should have taken it.”

Hilda uses her full strength, sending Shila flying again.”

“Don't mess with me. Shila, let's go level up now.”

“Ok mom!”

Notification.

Sub-trait boost has ended.

Hilda clutches her head in pain suddenly as they both fall to the ground despite Jamine not feeling pain.

“Finally…”
