Chapter 36. Strong as hell walls.

Chapter 36. Strong as hell walls.

A week later.

Hilda looks at the map, contemplating what to do. According to the map, the exit has 3 paths, each guarded by a miniboss with the details of the bosses unknown. If she wants, she can wait another week before there is an opportunity to run by, reaching the end with much lesser risk.

Heyyyy, Shila, which should I choose?

I would say waiting but I doubt you'll listen to me.

Is it possible at all to beat them?

Do you think you would win against a minimally level 300?

Could have just said no.

You asked a stupid question so I gave a stupid answer.

But what should I even do while waiting for the week?

Idk? Sleep?

Sleeping and hibernating are both different, how the hell do you expect me to sleep for a week?

Figure it out yourself, too bad you're stuck here and can't come into the system or territory, how sad.

Hilda tries to retort before feeling a small pinch on her leg, immediately knowing what it is and using mental attack magic and conversion magic to kill the ant biting her without touching it.

Conversion magic will recoil you know?

I still remember when fighting in the dungeon okay?

Then stop using it on ants!

I can't help it, I hate the little things.

You already said their little things so what are you doing?

They free load in my old house, eating food for free, no rent, biting me, making me itchy and pissing me off.

This feels personal.

It is. Oh, I know what I'll do.

Huh?

Hilda goes to the shop, buying all the fire related skills, combining them into low level fire magic.

… So, you can spend 1300 points on a whim, but not for me?

I already said I'll get you your skill so stop it.

Fine.

Hey, I'm looking at my status and some skills have rarities but some don't, why?

Achievements are ranked based on difficulty to obtain, items are ranked based on how good they are, skills are ranked on how hard they are to use.

How hard they are to use? But there hasn't been much difficulty so far.

That's because of your trait, it gives more willpower, and it's maxed out so… good for you.

Then why doesn't conversion magic have a rank?

Because conversion magic differs too differently from person to person, some people could accidently die completely on their first try, and some may seem like complete geniuses though it's about 50/50.

What about sword qi?

Sword qi also requires concentration, so your trait is to thank.

Then Jamine's clone skill?

Did mom call me?

When did you even get here?

Bored, mom and sis both not with me.

Sis? Wasn't she aunt before?

You knew she was calling me aunt?

I couldn't be bothered to fix it.

She told me to call her sis!

Shila, seriously?

Well, I didn't want to be an aunt!

If you discover this narrative on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen. Please report the violation.

Just answer my original question.

Fine, the clone skill takes a physical toll on her body, but Jamine can just regenerate and she can't feel pain so the recoil is like nothing for her, only the mental part is a problem when she reaches around 20 clones.

So why is it legendary?

Well, the physical toll for normal average people even if your level 5000 ISH is usually death when you get split in half.

Right…

Then why doesn't mental magic have a rarity?

Normal people can't learn mental magic without the system's help, you usually have to be born a specific species.

So?

So the guide doesn't even have enough info to rank it yet, you're one of the few people who have learned mental magic without having the species required.

Right, we are the first 10 people after all, this is just like a trial period.

Yep.

Then why do passive skills have rarities?

Imagine you can regenerate like Jamine, you lose an arm, you regenerate quickly, you would feel an immense amount of pain, more than having your arm cut off, happy? Stop asking, I'm going back now.

Fine, fine.

Shila goes back to either the system or territory with Jamine following along after waving goodbye.

Jamine feels like a kind daughter, Shila feels like a rebellious one, being a single mother at 17 sucks.

Hilda pulls out the map, waiting impatiently for the miniboss to leave despite knowing it'll take around a week, courtesy of Shila.

As she keeps waiting, she eventually finds them moving, running even, at max speed, confusing her.

What's going on?

As she thinks for a moment, her sixth sense skill starts going crazy, as she looks around, finding three paths connected to her and the minibosses running at her.

Jamine! Shila! get the hell out!

Huh? Hilda, what is… I need some context here but I think I'll wait.

As the minibosses get closer, she starts to be able to see their figures, with all three being the same and familiar looking.

Cyclopes huh? Long time no see, can't I easily win against them now?

You can't!! The floor 1s boss monster was a much weaker and younger version! These are pretty young too but unlike floor 1, they've had longer to grow and they weren't chained up either!

So, what do I do?

Are you religious?

No.

Then you better adopt a religion and start praying, I recommend Christianity.

Why that?

No reason, but the faster you get a religion the better right?

I think my current predicament proves there is no god, at least none that are helping me right now.

Hilda checks their status, finding them all to be the same.

Race: giant

Bloodline:Ancient giant(7 percent)

Stats:

(650 S) (650 E) (650 A) (156 M)

Warning, due to being a mini boss, stats have been increased by 50 percent

Notification.

Stats are being tripled.

Trait "sis con" is being strained.

Warning: trait "sis con" will be temporarily deactivated in 120 seconds if strained to that extent.

Warning:user will suffer recoil after deactivation.

Achievement: First to kill a mini boss in use, stats are being increased by 10 percent.

Achievement:Second to kill a level 5 monster, level is being increased by 4.

Hilda, be careful, your survivor achievement is still not ready yet.

I'm very aware, also why didn't my second to kill a level 5 activate when fighting those guys before?

It did, you were just too busy running away also, is not really the best time to ask questions?

Guess not.

So, what's the plan?

Shila, you and Jamine just keep drawing this out, Jamine make clones too, just draw this out as much as possible.

Sure… though that might not work, but I'll still cooperate.

Ok mom!

Shila and Jamine starts absorbing, causing the minibosses who were simply observing to start approaching slowly, clearly not caring much for the miniscule amounts of mana and health that they are losing.

Hilda uses mana on her legs and half of her mana and sword qi in her sword, jumping at the giant in the center, planning to slash its eye to blind it.

This is going to be easier than expected huh? As she does so, while mid air, the giant swings its fist at her, faster than she could react properly, barely blocking the hit while getting sent flying back into the wall, with the wall still remaining fully intact.

Damn, this isn't going to be easy, is it?

Hilda!

Mom!

Shila and Jamine both shout in concern, still leaching the opponents while dodging each attack barely or baiting it with Jamine's clones.

Hilda uses the remaining sword qi and mana left in her sword from the last attack, swinging a wave at one of the giants eye, only for it to be blocked by its arm, with no visible damage having taken place either.

Hey Shila, there's no way I can win this normally, right?

You're giving up?

Giving up? You must be crazy, the recoil is going to be crazy since my stats got tripled and my trait is forced to work for so long, so I'm taking a bet.

Shila, Jamine, come here.

Shila and Jamine both listen, heading towards Hilda whose back is against her wall with the giants slowly approaching.

So, what's the plan?

The plan? To hope I don't die from this.

Hilda pulls out the orb filled with information she could barely read, making Shila react immediately.

Hilda, if you do that, you're gonna regret it!

I have elixirs to spare, don't worry.

Shila grumbles a bit but doesn't protest anymore, knowing it's either the orb and the rest of the elixir she didn't finish last time, or their lives.

Endless mana, activate.

Hilda immediately starts feeling a surge of mana coursing through her body, with it feeling overwhelming immediately.

Warning, mana paths being overloaded.

Warning, if not fixed within a minute, mana will start flowing in the opposite directions, causing your mana paths to be destroyed.

Hilda, hurry and start using mana! I'm slowing down the mana transference from the orb to you! If you don't use enough mana, you'll really die!

Sure.

Hilda pulls out her sword, filling it with an immense amount of mana, at least 5 times more than her max amount, chasing the black mist trail behind her to also start increasing like crazy, engulfing the whole area in darkness before Hilda swings her sword, causing the mist in the way to be dissipated out of the way and leaving behind the bottom of the three giants with their top bodies missing, along with damaging the walls behind partially.

Strong as hell as walls.

Hilda deactivates the orb, immediately fainting afterwards due to the recoil of using more mana than her body could along with the trait recoil, having not seen the notification due to Shila removing to prevent Hilda from getting disturbed at such a crucial moment.
