Chapter 42. Nuke.

Chapter 42. Nuke.

The very next day, rumors started spreading about a strange person who looked female to some and male to some with a black trail following behind, causing explosions around.

“Shila, isn't my mask supposed to prevent the female part of me from being seen?”

“Yea but since there are many species, some have enough mental resistance to see through partially. Besides Hilda, it's much easier to hide your gender than other people.”

“Why?”

“Because there's less to hide.”

“Lesser?”

“... Normally the mask would hide your face, chest and hair. For you, it only needs to hide your face and hair.”

“What are you implying?”

“... Your chest doesn't have much to hide.”

“...”

“I'm deducting a thousand points from you.”

“Why?! You're the one who asked an obvious question!”

“Two thousand.”

“Seriously? Your 15 year old sister has a bigger chest than you, and she's 15! Look, you yourself have already known this fact long ago yourself but you've been lying to yourself despite knowing it!”

“Ten thousand”

“Screw you! I'm never helping you again!”

Shila angrily disappears as Hilda looks down at herself.

“It's not that bad… right?”

Hilda pulls Jamine out quickly, causing her to fall down from her sitting position, confusing her.

“Mom?”

“Yes my dear sweet daughter, I need to ask a question.”

“Anything for mom!”

“Look at me.”

“Ok.”

“Now look at yourself.”

“Ok.”

“Do our chest look similar in size?”

Jamine contemplates for a moment before looking back at herself and Hilda.

“Isn't mom older?”

“Yea, and so is my appearance.”

“Our body looks different—”

“I knew it!”

“But why does our chest look so similar?”

“...”

“Mom? Why does our—”

Hilda tries to send Jamine back to the system again with Jamine quickly going to the territory before she can do so.

“I hate this.”

“Now that I think about it, I got points for clearing the 22nd floor right? And I should have gotten extra for passing such a trial, yes?”

Hilda opens up her points.

Points:1,162,827

This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere.

“Some noble has been pissing me off recently now that I think about it.”

Hilda scrolls through the shop, going to the recommendations and buying the cheapest thing she can find that she needs, for 500K points, causing Shila to appear.

“Hilda… it was a joke, you didn't have to buy this…”

“I'm venting my anger.”

“Most people vent by shouting, throwing objects and such, not… buying a nuke worth 10 million tonnes of dynamite.”

“But if I use this, it'll look like—”

“No, no more dark humor jokes!”

“But I hadn't even finished the sentence.”

“Was it related to world war 2?”

“Yep.”

“Then shut it.”

“... Fine, but can I still—”

“Do. Not. Drop. That. Bomb. You'll die too.”

“Don't worry, it's remote detonated.”

“Fine, if you wanna do it, you pay up the orb forever.”

“Fine, but you'll return it eventually since I know I'll get into trouble eventually, you can't even use it, can you?.”

Hilda tries giving Shila the orb jokingly but even when she tries to give it, the orb sticks to her hand, not dropping to Shila's.

“The dragon did this, didn't it?”

“Yep, stop changing the topic, I'm not letting you use that.”

“It's already bought, there's no refund function, and it's also radiation free.”

“...... Why did the guide think letting people buy a nuke for 500,000 points was a good idea…”

“So can I use it?”

“... I give up… I give the hell up… do whatever you want…”

“I take that as approval.”

Hilda takes another look at the surprisingly compact and small object that's supposed to be much stronger than a normal nuke, walking and humming happily to herself as she spots the dwarf and elf again.

“Hey Shila… I can upgrade my mental magic further, right?”

“Yea, but it's gonna be very expensive.”

“Ok, how many tiers are there?”

“5 for most. Low level, normal, high, expert and… I forgot the last one.”

“You forgot?”

“Yea, what's the problem?”

“Isn't this information obtained from the system? Can't you just get it back?”

“... You're right actually… but I can't for some reason.”

“That's annoying, but whatever, it's just the level anyways.”

Hilda goes to try to upgrade her mental magic to high tier to find it costing 10,000,000 points.

“Oh yea, sorry, I meant you hit the requirements to level it up but not the points.”

“Isn't the requirement just… uh.. oh yea, leveling the skill up to the max?”

“For the first time, yea. For the next few times, you need maybe system level, achievements, etc.”

“So what was it this time?”

“Oh, I don't know, you just got a freebie since my level was high enough to skip it for you.”

“You can do that?”

“To a certain extent, yea, I've also been reducing the recoil from your trait and increasing the capacity of it.”

“Wow, you're more useful than I thought.”

“What's that supposed to mean? Huh?”

“Nothing, nothing.”

Suddenly, Hilda gets sent to a white room, the guide's room as she calls it, somewhere she hasn't been for quite a while and would've appreciated not going back for another couple months minimum.

“Guide… what is it now?”

“Hello my favourite little girl.”

“What?”

“What what?”

“What did you call me?”

“My favour—”

“Let me rephrase, why did you call me that?”

“Well, I'm much older than you, you're still a minor, and you're my favourite.”

“Shut it, no more calling me that.”

“Fine, but I need a favour back, yea?”

“... Shila, go blow the most populated area up.”

The guide sends Shila into the system again before she even has a chance to decline.

“Don't use that bomb you bought. If you are still going to use it, use it at the 25th floor and above since those floors can handle it much better due to their size.”

“Why should I listen? You better give me something good unless you want the elves to vanish.”

“... Why the elves?”

“Why not? They're basically a fetish on earth, getting rid of them would be for the better good, no?”

“stop lying and tell me the real reason.”

“Fine, I may have potentially, possible, perhaps heard of some… valuables they have.”

“They'll shoot you before you get near enough, the human-like race can reach up to level 500 before dying from their lifespans. Elves live much much longer and have some up to the 2000s.”

“So? I'll strap the bomb to myself and use a dead man's switch, the survivor trait will save me if I get blown up once anyways.”

“Dont, they'll hunt you down, I'm not kidding.”

“Fine, the Suvans or whatever they're called then.”

“No bombing, no bombing, big no. I'll give 50,000 points.”

“Sure, that works.”

“Hilda, you're the only person to blackmail me so far.”

“That's because you have too many loopholes.”

“Not many people think of committing terrorism. In fact, it's because of you that I'm re-evaluating what I'm going to do soon.”

“What is it?”

“If you want to know, I'm not paying the 50K up.”

“I have enough points for another bomb.”

“... If you blow anything, I'll turn you into a goddamn firework. I'm going to add a subtrait, it won't be shown in the status, nor will it bring immediate benefits, but it'll help you get more… synchronized with your soul, making it stronger.”

“So, what's the problem?”

“You'll see…”

The guide sends Hilda back out where Shila reappears.

“Hilda, I'm managing your finances from now onwards.”

“No, you're not.”

“I'm not asking.”

“Too bad, I don't allow it.”

Hilda suddenly sees a notification.

Notification.

System has locked point usage, permitted by gúïd3.

“...”

“No more goddamn nukes.”

“...”

Hilda teleports Jamine out of the system with Jamine officially getting annoyed.

“Mom! Warn me before doing that! You made me spill my ice cream!”

“Jamine, no more snacks for you.”

“Huh??? What???”

“you heard me.”

“Why?!?! Mom is mean!”

“No more snacks till your aunt here removes the restriction on my money.”

“Aunt! Get rid of the restriction!”

“No, your mom here tried to blow everybody up.”

“So?”

“That's right… you really are like your mom. No wonder the guide is hesitant about allowing the system to implement in the subtrait.”
