“Yeah, I’m good. I just needed to spasm to make it seem like the magic power was too much for my mind to handle?”

“Was it?”

“Nah, my older brother used to say that that’s what any main character must do when using their special abilities.”

“Why though?”

“Something about the plot.”

“By any chance, are you related to Sharlan?”

“Who the hell is Sharlan? That sounds like such a lame name. I wouldn’t even name my worst nemesis’s child that if I had the chance.”

“Okay, then, nevermind. So did you see the future or anything?”

“Well, yeah, I mean, I saw an image in my mind but I really don’t know how to describe anything. I’ve only ever seen one once before since you know, I’m fucking blind.”

“Oh, yeah, I guess that makes sense. But can you try using critical thinking or context clues?”

“What are you, an english teacher?”

“Well, I guess they say that the sky is blue, and the sky is supposedly upwards, so I guess that must be the color blue.”

“Oh, so, then I think that I see a gray person. I heard that shadows are dark and dark and black are usually used together so I think that is the color black. I think that he is holding something black. That’s about it. I don’t know what I’m looking at honestly.”

“Ok, well, that is actually a good hint.”

“Do you know how far in the future this image is?”

“I’m not sure, but I think dad said it had something to do with the power of my words?”

“Oh yeah, we can evaluate it just like Sharlan did.”

“Guys, I just had a thought,” said George

“What is it?”

“Did you guys notice anything strange about the whole gorgon situation?”

“What do you mean? All I noticed is that we’re all going to die when night falls again.”

“Ha, there it is!”

“What? I’m confused”

“Night time.”

“What about it? There’s like 2 more hours until it falls again if that’s what you’re trying to say.”

“No, think deeper. Why is it in the night time that we are going to die.”

“Well, I guess that’s because the Gorgon comes out during the night time. Honestly, I’m not getting the point that you’re trying to make here.”

“Why is it thought that the Gorgon only comes out at night?”

“I don’t know. Maybe it’s nocturnal or something.”

“But that doesn’t make sense in the grand scheme of things. We were right within its grasp. Why didn’t it just run outside and kill us all as well. It’s much faster than we are after all. But I didn’t see it at all after we left the cave in the morning.”

“Hmm. I guess that is strange. But so what? Maybe it’s just because it doesn’t like people trespassing on its property or something.”

“But wait, here’s another clue.”

“What is it?”

“Recall the Bruh moment.”

“You mean when your best friend Bruh died? That’s the Bruh moment?”

“Yes. Think back to what he said at that time. He said that he doesn’t see anything in the reflection of his shield and then he turned around and got petrified.”

“So what about it? Maybe he was roleplaying Natalia?”

“No, think about it more deeply. Remember those stories that Sharlan told us. Whose reflection can you not see in a mirror?”

“Oh you mean a vampire? But we are fighting a gorgon, are we not?”

“Perhaps the situation is more complicated that we might think. I have a hypothesis and I think that these two pieces of evidence are a pretty good basis. I think that we are fighting a hybrid.”

“A hybrid? You mean a Vampire-Gorgon hybrid? That’s pretty absurd if it is true.”

“But the math adds up. Did anyone even see the gorgon’s reflection in their shield when we went inside?”

“No, I guess no one did. Otherwise, we would’ve attacked.”

“Then it decided to let us run as soon as it was daytime. Yeah. I think it’s pretty safe to say so or to at least be under this assumption.”

“So, let’s start preparing for the night. These are our last minutes to prepare for our final fight with the Vampire Gorgon.”
