THE BATTLE WITHIN
There was a great calm, Blood stained the floor, Prince Meron coughed from the earlier choking, and the princesses stood shocked by what they had witnessed. The men were terrified to their core, faced with the vicious monster in front of them — and that monster-----was me!.

I turned to face the last rebellious man, a smile creeping onto my face.

I walked slowly towards him.
"Please don't kill me! I beg you! I'll do anything! Please, anything, just don't kill me!" the man pleaded, shaking uncontrollably.
"Kill, kill, kill, kill, kill," the voice in my mind chanted, growing louder and louder.
*LEAN*
I leaned closer to the man, who trembled in terror.
*SLASH*
Tearing open his throat with my bare hands.
*EUUCK---EUUCK---GASP----GASP*
He clutched his neck, gasping for breath as blood poured out.
*DROPS*
The royals looked on in horror at the carnage before them.
"The girl... she did this?" Prince Meron's voice quivered with disbelief, his gaze torn in horror..
*TURNS*
Turning towards them, walking closer and closer as Prince Meron stepped back protectively towards the princesses.
As I walked closer, all I could hear was the incessant chant of "kill, kill, kill."
"I need to snap out of this," I screamed in my mind, gripping my head in agony.
Princess Rissane rushed towards me.
"WAIT, NO! STOP!" Prince Meron yelled, trying to halt Princess Rissane's advance.
*HUGS*
Princess Rissane embraced me tightly.
"My dad always tells me that when someone is in pain, a hug can solve it all," she whispered soothingly.
*PAUSES*
*SMILES----HUGS*
I returned her hug tentatively, feeling the weight of her words and the depth of her empathy and smiled back weakly.
"Thank you."
