BIRTHDAY SURPRISES
---
As the sun dipped low on the horizon, casting long shadows across the yard, I turned to Ethan, my twin brother. "Ethan, it's getting dark. Let's go inside and wait for them to come home," I suggested, noticing the unusual darkness inside our usually well-lit home.
"Okay," Ethan replied, his tone satisfied as we made our way towards the house. As we entered, the lights suddenly flickered on, revealing a sight that caught us completely off guard.
There, standing behind a beautifully decorated cake, were Mom, Dad, and Ellie, all wearing wide smiles that mirrored the flickering candlelight. "Happy Birthday, Emma and Ethan!" they shouted in unison, their voices filled with genuine surprise and delight.
Ethan and I stood frozen for a moment, stunned by the unexpected celebration. Then, Mom rushed forward and enveloped us in a warm embrace, followed closely by Dad and Ellie. "Happy Birthday, you two!" Mom exclaimed, her eyes shining with love and joy.

The evening was full of celebration and was in full swing. We laughed, shared stories, and enjoyed each other's company. As the hours passed, it came time to cut the cake. Mom and Dad leaned in close, their eyes twinkling with excitement. "Make a wish!" they encouraged us in unison.
Closing my eyes, I made a silent wish. *I wish to have the strength to protect those dear to me and to be happy forever,* I thought earnestly. Ethan and I blew out the candles together, our hearts filled with happiness as our family cheered and clapped around us.
Hours later, after the birthday festivities had wound down and everyone had retired to their rooms, I lay in bed, staring up at the ceiling. Thoughts of the day's events swirled through my mind, and a sense of contentment settled over me. "I'm happy," I murmured softly to myself, a smile tugging at my lips. "I made the right choice, choosing TO BE A HUMAN !!."
Unbeknownst to me, somewhere in the shadows, a figure watched through a scrying ball with intense interest. A smile played on it's lips as it whispered, "THIS IS JUST"
