THE AMBUSH
I couldn't believe I was following these men without a plan. *SLAP*, "Silly me," I chastised myself silently. "What the hell will I do if they catch me? I can't fight all of them with this little body of mine. I need to think of a plan," I muttered anxiously.
*NEIGHING* *CLIP--CLOP--CLOP--CLOP*
"They're coming, everyone get in position," a man commanded sharply.
Before I knew it, all the men vanished into hiding, waiting for their trap to spring shut. Panic surged through me as the sound of approaching horses grew louder.
"Oh no, their horses are coming already. I need to do something, and fast," I thought urgently.
The guards were protecting the princesses closely. I couldn't just rush to the front of the carriage and warn them. "My princesses, you're in danger, do not pass this road" — that would be absurd. "Emma, get a grip," I scolded myself, feeling lost in confusion.
"I think I need to patiently wait to see what the trap is. They've got the strongest guards in the kingdom escorting them. Why am I even bothered about their safety? I should be worried about mine," I reasoned, trying to calm my racing thoughts.

INSIDE THE ROYAL CARRIAGE
"I don't know why my father wants us to go there. That woman creeps me out," Princess Agatha voiced her discomfort.
"Don't be like that. I'm sure the woman is a nice person. My father wouldn't have brought me here if she wasn't reliable," Princess Rissane of the Elf Kingdom reassured.
"Chill out. It'll be fun," Prince Meron of Eldo-Clearoth Kingdom interjected.
"Quiet. I don't know why I have such a dumbass as my elder brother anyway," Princess Agatha retorted sharply.
*PAUSE*
"That aside, why are you coming with us this time, Meron?" Princess Agatha questioned.
"I'm here to protect you guys. As the heir to the throne, I need to be strong enough to rule the kingdom. So, as a start, I'll be protecting you princesses today," Prince Meron explained confidently.
*CHUCKLES*
*UURG*, "What a nutcase," Princess Agatha muttered, earning a laugh from Princess Rissane.
"What do we need you for? We have all the protection we need. What bad thing can happen with the guards around? They are one of the greatest soldiers in the kingdom," Princess Agatha declared confidently.
*BOOOM..........!*
"What's that?" Princess Agatha exclaimed in shock.
"Why is everywhere dark?" Princess Rissane asked nervously.
"I'll go check what's happening outside. You guys stay put," Prince Meron decided quickly, preparing to step out.
"What?! Are you crazy? What are you going to do, tickle them with your sword?" Princess Agatha mocked.
*CREEAK*, The carriage door opened slowly.
"Everyone stay behind me," Prince Meron commanded, brandishing his sword defensively.
"I'm an ally," I announced, opening the carriage door.
