ch 9. The Council of Monster

My training started right away.

Master Hokai seems so eager to train me, and I also want to learn to fight better. Not because I want to kill or anything; I just wish to not become a burden.

With a body like this, I will be such a huge burden! Pun intended.

My first training is taking stances. I have a bit of knowledge about this, as I used to love watching martial arts movies. What the movie didn't explain is that taking stances is hard on the joints.

Master Hokai forced me to stay on Horse Stance for about an hour, and I was unable to stand on my feet for the next hour. This stance is terrible for the joint!

After that, I have to do the first form. This time, I have to learn to punch straight. As straight and as fast as possible, but without getting tense or feeling forced. I have to punch as if it were the most natural thing in the world while maintaining its form.

It was hard, and I somehow didn't get why I had to do this until Master Hokai asked the man who came with us to perform the fist in the wrong way and in the right way.

when doing it the wrong way, the punch is hard, but the results are barely noticeable. Just another punch in the air. The man then performs the punch in the right form. The results are quite shocking, as I can feel the air stir from his punch. I don't know how he does that.

Master Hokai asked me to train my stance and Fist Form every day from the moment the sun rose until sunset. He leaves the man, whom I finally know as Haku, as my guide, while Master Hokai himself goes back to the village.

From then on, I train with as much diligence as I can to master the form and the stance.

Somewhere at the edge of the grassland.

A lone castle is standing on a rock pillar at the edge of a huge waterfall. The castle shape is mostly like any common castle, except for its decorative tower, which has a sharp roof and is built around the castle from the foot of the stone pillar up to the castle roof. Two floating rings appear to float around the castle, creating some kind of protective barrier for the castle.

The name of this castle is Alexandria, titled The City of Waterfalls. A place with beauty and grandeur like no other.

Around the castle is a thriving city, filled with people of many races and nations who come to the city for the chance of glory and richness. Trade and markets filled the streets of the city while people were walking around, haggling, and discussing their current lives.

On the gates of the castle, where many people are lining up to enter the city, is a person of regular look. Nothing about him seems special except for one symbol carved into his face as a recognition of his origin.

As soon as the man arrived at the gates, he quickly kneeled flat to the ground and began to speak in whispers.

"Lord Alexandria, the council has summoned you. "

The man remained at his place for about two hours, remaining silent as he waited patiently. There is no trace of pain or tiredness as he maintains his position.

After two hours of waiting, the man stood up and turned his body back from the city. He walked fast, leaving the city gate as if he were in a hurry.

As he left the vicinity of the city, he pulled out a scroll from his dimensional pocket and began to write on the scroll.

"Alexandria refused the summons. "

on a branch of a flaming tree, deep inside a range of volcanoes.

There is a single bird that is calmly perched on the tree. The bird has red feathers that transition to blue and green, depending on where you look. Its overall shape is closer to that of a peacock but with long, flaming tails and burning blue eyes.

She is called Pyra, titled the Phoenix of Beauty. The first of its races and the most beautiful of them all.

In front of her is a single line of road made of white stone that remains cool even under the influence of fire and lava. On that road, stands a woman wearing a simple dress.

On her face, there is a symbol that is carved right into her face as a sign of her origin.

The woman kneeled in front of the flaming trees and whispered carefully for the phoenix.

"Lady Pyra, the council has summoned you. "

Phoenix only took a single glance at the woman before she ignored her completely. The Phoenix didn't even care if the woman remained kneeling or walking out; time is meaningless for her, and that makes her ignorant of time.

After two hours of waiting, the woman backs away and leaves the volcano. She takes out a scroll from her dimensional pocket and begins to write.

"Pyra refused the summons. "

On a mountain that is so high, it goes beyond the clouds and more.

There is a gigantic castle that is so grand and majestic, with angels and elves filling the castle as servants.

In the throne room of this castle, sits a being that nobody dares ignore except for several exceptional beings.

This being is called Kronus, titled The Unworthy King of the Titans.

Kronus's body is shaped closely like a human, with the difference that his body is made of dark materials filled with anger, sadness, depression, and death.

No race in the world can stand in his presence without becoming a victim of his power.

Right now, a dying man is reading a scroll of paper with unpleasant information for Kronus.

"The Monsters who reject the summons are as follows:.

Alexandria, the Waterfall City

Pyra of Beauty Phoenix

Juda of the Broken Vow

Tiamat of the Hundreds Head

Fu Long of the Blessing Dragon

Galbatorix of the Black Scales

"

Then he falls to his knees, and he breathes intermittently as he is already close to the death door.

Another man then comes in and continues to read the scroll, as if nothing wrong is happening in the room.

"The Monster who accepted the summons is as follows:

Puji of the Seven-Headed Cobra

Blorong of the Southern Sea

Aragog of the Terror Cave

Sergeant of the Mountain Range Giant

"

After reading the scroll, the second man tried his best to bring the first man out of the room. They managed to leave the room, but somehow they still died. Their souls fly back into the room, where they are eaten by Kronus.

"Only half of them answered my call.

The rest have forgotten what kind of terror I can bring to them. "

Kronus talked to himself. His voice is like a crumbling mountain and the scream of thousands of lives. He is used to being alone and has long been using self-talk as a way to entertain himself.

Kronus moved his eyes to the right, and his focus quickly changed, as if he were seeing something beyond the walls of his castle.

"A new challenger.

One with real talent.

His presence will break the balance that I have set.

He has to die. "

A month has passed since the first time I started my training.

To my surprise, my skill, Enhanced Regeneration, works wonders in my training. Every time I push myself hard enough, the skill will be triggered, and my body will start to get better.

My body healed itself at such a speed that it fixed itself after an hour of rest.

When Master Hokai knew this, he pushed me even harder and forced me to train twice as hard. Of course, he cannot physically push me to train, but he has a way with his words that makes my feeble heart give up and just do what he says.

It feels like I am back in my old office once again. Hiks~

After the stance and punch, my training increases in another form. It's the Kick Form and Beast Form.

Kick form makes me learn to kick from many sides. Front, back, left, and right—each direction must be performed perfectly; otherwise, a rain of painful insults will pour on me from Master Hokai's mouth.

Beast Form, however, is an entirely different type of training. This form makes me act and behave like that of an animal, in my case, a lion. Master Hokai forced me to act like a lion, roar like a lion, and fight like a lion.

I can do some of that quite perfectly, while others are difficult, not because they are hard but because they are shameful.

It becomes worse when Master Hokai himself tries to perform what he calls "Lionification," where he walks on four and roars like a kitten.

Believe me, if there are any other lions around, they will be very insulted by the Master Hokai act.

Of course, I tried to embrace the lion side of me. Especially since I have been one before, although only for a short time.

To help me with this training, I tried to call upon my beastly instinct. Perhaps instinct can guide me on how to be a proper beast.

And it turns out it did work, but not in the way I wanted.

When my animalistic instinct kicked in, I suddenly lost consciousness as my body ran around, acting like a real lion in the wild. My body walked aimlessly and tried to look for prey. My body soon found a bug the size of a two-meter.

My body slowly approaches it, trying to be as stealthy as possible. When the distance is close, my body pounces on it while trying to put my claws in its shell.

In the end, my body managed to win despite a lot of effort since there was no wisdom to help with the hunt.

When I get my consciousness back, I can feel my body hurt quite a bit, especially my fingers. Clawing at the bug's shell is painful.

The result of this is that I have finally managed to unlock my beastly side. My instincts have become more acute and sensitive, and I can feel that fighting has become easier. At least that is what my instinct told me.

After that, Master Hokai allowed me a few days of rest that I spent staying in Boroboro village. Once again helping with their daily activities and playing with children.

The people of Boroboro Village give me surprises when I am there. They lead me to their water source and take me to the place where I built my bathtub.

When I arrived there, I could see that my bathtub now had a stone floor. I tried to enter the bathtub and realized that there was no more mud floating up. Which means I can finally take a proper bath!!

The one who proposed this idea is Kuhiki, the one who watched me make this bathtub. I thank Kuhiki a lot and the other villagers too, then shoo them away as I want to dip myself in the water for a long time.

Later that night, I asked the Boroboro villagers to gather around in the middle of the village. After they all came, I tried to explain to them how to build and expand the village into a better living space.

I know I have almost no knowledge about something like this, as I used to work in an office and not in the field. Fortunately, I often watch movies and videos where there are a few explanations about low-level technology that can be used here.

The villagers look at me in awe, their eyes giving me a sense of disbelief and weirdness. Just when I am about to cancel my suggestions, the villagers begin to cheer and shout in happiness. They said that I am a blessing to their village, as my knowledge is comparable to that of people from big cities.

I can only laugh a little. My random knowledge turns out to be quite something here. I have to admit, this feels good.
